Best Arcade stick thats PC or PS2 compatable for 50usd or less?

So I want a stick that will work on my pc and I do have a ps2 adapter that works perfectly fine(got 2 of them actually). Its better if its a ps2 stick since then I can also use it for my ps2 of course. I know Hori is the best but I cant seem to find any 50 or below that are not wii sticks which won’t work without modifying and a blue tooth connection. Do I have any options here? Also is the Hori Tekken 5 Arcade Stick 10th anniversary stick any good?

Oh one more thing I do want one with the ball type joystick, thats very important.

I’m in the same boat and sorry to tell you but unless you want really bad quality, good PS2 sticks are impossible to find $50 and under. The Tekken 5 stick is alright cause well its Hori but if you get it, you should mod it.

In the fifty dollar price range, you wont find anything that doesnt need to be modded. In this price range, sticks are made with cheap knock off parts. A friend of mine just bought a hori ex2 and its not so great. If you dont wanna have to mod anything, i suggest getting a custom stick built, but this might cost a lot more than you want to spend. You should ask yourself how much u want/ how much u will use the stick and maybe u can justify spending more and getting something nicer. All TEs come out the box with sanwa parts. And any xbox360 stick will work on a PC. good luck with your search!

So the Xbox ones just plug in USB?

I am not looking for super realistic arcade quality, Just something that wont kill my finders and is responsive. Joystick is most important as I can totally see myself dedicating 50% of the time on the stick to pacman haha…

Is the ex2 so bad, most reviews say its good? Is the Tekken one about the same out of curiosity.

yeah. they both suck

So its crap quality or top tier? There is no middle ground for casual gamers?

Go big or go home.

There are better ways to spend $50 to only be dissapointed.

These are Hori sticks right, I was under the impression that all Hori stick were at least acceptable or good. Guess I was wrong, No way I am willing to pay 100+ dollars, I mainly want to play old Mame games like Pacman, this should not be an expensive endeavor honestly…

If that is so…guess I will go home as you put it…

If it’s just for casual play, the Hori Tekken stick is fine. Same with the Namco & SNK Playmore/Sammy sticks. Good luck!

I would assume the same for the ex2 since that Tekken one seems to be going over that one on ebay and its used…Yes?

i’ve played on an ex2 and the joystick sucks…but when i say it sucks, i mean it sucks for marvel vs capcom 3. if you just wanna play pac man the ex2 is for you!

Most the guys on here will tell you that sticks for under $50 are crap and don’t buy them. In a way they are right, but that is not to say they are wrong as well. PS2 stick that you can find for under $50 generally are not built as well as top notch sticks in the $100-$300 range. They use cheaper knock off parts that are not as responsive as their pro counterparts. Now that is not to say they won’t be good enough for you to use, but they may not hold up as well either. I was using cheap sticks back in the Snes and Genesis days and those are plastic toys compared to some of the cheaper PS2 sticks. I would have loved to have a stick like a T5 or a Namco back then. Now if your not a pro/hardcore player then a cheaper stick would be ok for starting out. You can always mod/upgrade it later, or just buy a Pro stick if you decide you need something better.

You should also look around the Trading Outlet forum… Deals pop up now and then…

All of these would be fine starter sticks…

hope that helps a bit

Namco one looks nice and basic, I looked it up people seem to like it. The last two I cant find anything on. Might go with the Ex2 if the Namco one goes high, I saw some for quite a bit of money on ebay…

Your post is very helpful though, thanks a lot. I am gonna keep on looking, maybe I will come across a deal haha…

Personal I would go with the Mayflash over the Ex2…

USB Joystick Arcade Style Game Pad-PS3, PS2, PC | eBay

because it works on PC, PS2, and PS3. Also it will be easier to mod later.

If he’s gonna go with something like mayflash don’t. Get Etokki’s stick way easier to mod later on.

Joytron Paewang Revolution

But if you never plan on doing anything but casual play on mame get the EX2.

The thing is, Mayflash sticks are really, REALLY bad stock.

They’re not “bad” like say, an EX2, they’re just BAD. Stay away from them unless you’re going to mod it right off the bat.

I wound up getting this: PROVANTAGE: Mad Catz TVC571800NA1/02/1 Wii TVC Arcade Fightstick

and this: Amazon.com: Wii Classic Controller to PC USB Adapter: Video Games

Found this thread http://shoryuken.com/f177/mayflash-wii-classic-controller-pc-usb-adapter-226681/ anf this FeeltheFunk.com: Connect Tatsunoko vs Capom Fight Stick to PC via USB and people seem to like this stick, hopefully I do, Plus I do have quite a few Wii games I can use it on anyways.

Thanks for the help but this seemed like a decent deal…heard this stick was 70+ when it came out.

if you choose a combat-king stick (si tong parts), don’t choose the one with sf iv layout as this stick can’t be modded with sanwa parts. choose this one: Lux Fighting Stick Arcade Street Fighter 4 PC PS2 8 key | eBay

I already ordered the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick, I heard its pretty modifiable if I feel like it though…

I think I got a good deal though…
