Best Arcade stick thats PC or PS2 compatable for 50usd or less?

Yea that is a good stick and that was a good deal you found on it too.

Awesome thanks, I might upgrade it later on with the Sanwa(Spelling?) parts but for now I am sure its ok…well from reviews and videos I saw of it.

you’ll like the buttons on it just fine…you might just want to get a sanwa JLF Joystick to put in it. I think you’ll like the stick a lot and hopefully the adapter doesn’t give you any problems. Good price on that too…less that 30 bucks is a bargain!

you guys are forgetting the cheapest stick ever

Thats good to know, maybe I will replace the stick in the future, see how I like it first, might feel good to me…

Haha just looked that up, I don’t own a Nike box though :frowning:

Just get the Mayflash and then mod it with Sanwa JLF Stick and button.

Also, at this point, it is hard to find a PC/PS2 compatable stick for 50 or less.

Mayflash Sticks are on play-asia for $23.92 today:

WTF?!?! Damn that’s cheap. However, my minor gripe about the Universal Fighting Stick from Mayflash is that I cannot set the stick to 4-way analog when playng certain PS2 games (e.g. Fist of the North Star, Virtua Fighter 4, etc.).

I would also recommend this too. It’s probably around 39.99 somewhere.

Also, you can buy the PS2 to PC USB adapter and viola, you get an arcade stick that is compatable with PC and PS2.

Got the TVC Arcade Fightstick in the mail today, everything seems to work find and all, I am just curious though, the buttons and some the the surrounding plastic have scratches on them, bottom has some odd glue residue that wont come off and there is a speck on the artwork part that is missing(very small, pen dot sized), wondering if these are just defects and if anyone experienced any with this stick? They all seem superficial so I am just a little curious is all.

I do like the feel of it though, I am not disappointed.

I’ve always liked the mayflash as a budget fixer-upper lol. Nice enough case from the looks of it, and a PCB that supports PC, PS2, and PS3? Nice.

Only modding difficulty is in question.

I’ve had three of these now (2 for friends, one for me), and not seen any scratches yet. One had a little bit of glue on the outside but that was just the same to remove as if some hair was stuck to it. Nothing missing on the artwork on any of the three.

The feel of the stick and buttons are great - much better than the EX2 I had, tho understandably not as good as the TE (I’ve now got two TE’s, R1 and R2 - this owning joystick stuff is addictive)

Hmm I do have one question though, I don’t care much about the imperfections, but this stick feels very different then the ones I am use to on the Pac-man machines, different directionals? I am not sure, but my game is lacking a bit, might just be me getting use to it but I am not sure, anyone know?

Like I can really not play Ms.Pacman with Speedhack like I am use to on a local machine, I can’t register my turns quick enough. Regualr version is still doable but I am not getting as far as I should…

Edit: I just read I would need to put a + shaped 4 way restricted in it or octagonal one(better for more games?) to play it accurate, are they expensive and is it possible on this stick? If so where can I buy one? I can only find this one so far http://www.lizardlick.com/Sanwa-GT-Y-Octagonal-Restrictor-Plate_p_242.html but not the 4 way(Not necessary?) Will it work?

Not sure what this is : http://www.lizardlick.com/Sanwa-GT-8F-48-Way-Restrictor-Plate_p_240.html

Considering that the joystick in the TvC stick is a Sanwa JLF knockoff clone, replacing the gate with an octagonal one should work.

You can get a Sanwa square gate and turn it 45 degrees into a 4-way diamond shaped gate, although it’s not a true 4-way because you can still hit the diagonal directions. Sanwa does not make + shaped gates, but they can be found on Seimitsu joysticks.

Also, slagcoin.com is your friend for all of the info on joysticks that you’ll ever need. =)

I see, thats good, is it easy to replace(please say no soldering). Has anyone here ever done it before? The octagonal one will help with games that need directionals like Pac-man? I like the idea of a plain + gate but I think it would be restricting for many games.

Sorry for these questions, I know its more about fighting games here but I do not play that much of those due to the fun adventures of carpel tunnel…haha…I still play from time to time though, I do love them…oh memories lol.

I just got a tournament edition stick for 360, and was looking for a way to use it with my PS2 (for Arcana Heart, SF Third Strike, and Samurai Shodown Anthology) but apparently there are no adapters that let you use USB/360 controllers with the PS2. I ended up looking at a bunch of modded Mayflash sticks, and realized I had a stock mayflash in a drawer from years ago. Modding tha seems to be the cheapest option, as some of the PS2 compatible Hori sticks are either impossible to find or prohibitively expensive. Even so, you can safely assume that the end cost is$50 and a bunch of time in addition to the original price of the mayflash.

If you’re set on a stick, then go for it. But if you would be okay with a fighting-oriented gamepad for the PS2, there are some “limited edition” street fighter gamepads that have a similar layout to the new madcatz ones, you might be able to find them on ebay.

Well I already bought it just dont want to buy product that doesnt fit inside the stick or help much :frowning:
