I finished the main story of Ultimate Spider-Man. Now I’m just playing having fun and unlock more stuff. Those racing segments were a little tough, but it was good.
Good
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse
X-Men Legends 2
Vs. games
Bad
Wolverine (NES)
Mutant Academy
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Has anyone played the Japanese exclusive Spider-Man: Lethal Foes? If so, is it good?
Neversoft! lol
X:Men Legends and X:Men Legends 2 were pretty good for what they were but they are some of the sloppiest, glitchiest games I’ve ever beaten in my life. Especially XML2; I would find it very difficult to believe that game had more than a week of solid QA.
I own the Marvel UA games, but haven’t played them yet. I guess now’s as good a time as any?
I liked all that you mentioned EXCEPT for Captain America & the Avengers.
The SNES version was an inexcusably craptacular port of the classic arcade game! The Genesis version was slightly better, but also fell short in a big way too.
Blehh on terrible arcade ports.

Apparently Data East still had the Avengers license as late as 1995 and decided to make a fighter, but it happened to be released in the US the same year as XMvSF and was ignored by everyone. It’s notable for two things: It has a co-op mode similar to SFA1’s hidden Ken/Ryu mode, and It was possibly the first fighting game to have assists.
Other than that, it was garbage. It only had 8 playable characters (4 if you were in story mode) and it was based on the cruddy mid-90s Avengers where half the team wore those brown jackets over their uniforms with some random Kree characters thrown in. The game gets really cheap near the end and pretty much forces you to use co-op to win, and the pseudo 3D sprites have not aged well.
Spider-Man Vs. The Kingpin for the Genesis was pretty sweet. I never did make it to the end, though. I just remember it being a lot of fun, and way different from the other Spidey side-scrollers of the time.
The first Spider-Man movie game for the PS2 was shitty.
What about Wolverine’s Revenge?
Pretty sure Captain America and the Avengers has been mentioned already
The announcer sounds awesome
Is T.strike really a character?
Sentry is in as an assist, thats fuckin awesome!
game is awesome cuz of the nostalgial really
Oh, shit, I saw that game before at Lowry Park’s arcade! Yeah, it did look crappy.
The cast is so random in this.
Thunderstrike, Black Knight, Crystal, and Cap are the four ‘heroes’, with Iron Man, Thor, Vision, and Giant Man as assists. Bad guy side has Dr. Minerva, Korath, Shatterax, and Supremor with Sentry, Att-las, Ultimus, and Ronan on assist (Not gonna lie, I had to look up half of them and I’m still not sure who they are ) This is probably the only game Black Knight got to be in, and I always liked that guy (even if he has a lightsaber instead of the Ebony Blade - booooo).
I know I said the game was garbage, but the cheese factor alone makes it worth at least one play.
Yeah he became Thor(the one with a helmet visor thing) for a bit too.
I don’t think that the THQ Punisher game gets enough love. For a Max Payne clone with camera issues it was a very fun game. The gory interrogations were awesome.
Invincible Iron Man for the GBA is great. Awesome side scrolling shooter that no one played or even knows exists. Definitely recommend it if you like Iron Man and side scollers.
As for bad, the PSN Punisher game is ass. The Punisher has to be the worst possible character to use for an arena shooter. Iron Man/X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal for PSone. Pure shit
Is the Sega CD port of Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin any good?
pretty obvious but, “its mahvel baybee” and its predecessors are one of the best
x-men legends and its sucessors are also up there.
Put Marvel Ultimate Alliance near the top.
And Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 near the bottom.
I remember Wolverine’s revenge being pretty good but it’s been several years since I last played it.
Best? Marvel vs Capcom 2.
Worst? Marvel vs Capcom 3.
People who use the coffee smiley tend to be really smart or really fucking stupid.
