Having what is quite obviously Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a fighting style makes a character a grappler.

I’m sure a lot of us already got the idea that Blanka would be too obvious and was just a set up. Plus he said the character reveal would be something Brazilian fans would really like and well…I don’t even think Brazilians like Blanka that much.

Have you actually seen how she plays or what her gameplan is yet? No? Then you don’t know she is a grappler or not. Hell some of those could be strike attacks with canned animations like Necalli’s CA or a counter move instead of a command throw.
She may very well be a grappler, but I’d hold off on saying for sure.

I think Zen’s playstyle is easy to guess at this point.
Yes I do. I was the one who let you guys know the idea of her being a grappler in the first place. As I said weeks ago, I have a friend who knows someone and he told me that Laura was going to be a grappler long before it was in anyone’s consideration. Lo and behold, she uses a martial art that relies extremely heavily on grappling. Those are clearly BJJ holds that she’s using. So you’re just talking out of your ass.
So another grappler… meh. She looks great though
Blue Mary’s command sambo was similar to BJJ but she went from semi-grappler to be more mixup and attack-throw oriented. I’m hoping that since there are already two grapplers that Laura is more of a striking character and the throws are either automatic or rekka chains. Some kind of reversal would be nice too.
