Why do you try to argue back when you know you’re wrong? Preference based on race is not racism, the fuck? I’ve mostly date white and latin girls because I find them more attractive than Asians or blacks. HOLY SHIT I’M A RACIST.
Yes, because that’s a different definition for racism.
I don’t know if you know this, but something only has to meet one definition for a word for that word to be applicable.
For example: A crane is a type of bird and a type of construction equipment used for heavy lifting. Something only has to be that type of bird OR that type of construction equipment to be called a crane. It doesn’t have to be a bird AND construction equipment.
Likewise, some definitions of racism have negative connotations and imply superiority. Others definitions don’t. Something only has to meet one of those definitions to be called racism.
A preference based solely on race meets one of the definitions of racism. Therefor it can be called racism.
Can’t disagree with that, though I’ll add that it’s quite clear that in this particular context, we’re being called racist on speculative accusation so…yea, not racist.
Let’s wrap this dumb argument up guys.
I need to know if laura is a grappler or not. I get a feeling that she might be a visual grappler, with her grabs actually being hits, ala Able’s CoD. Seemingly having a projectile and being a grappler…yea, I doubt even Capcom wants to touch that. Maybe it could work if the projectile is more of a dan fireball. Slower speed and shorter trajectory.
You said that the dictionary definition disagreed with me… As I just showed you, it does not. What I posted is the definition of racism. You’re just gonna pick an alternate that supports your stance, but it still doesn’t take away from mine.
Your example is irrelevant and nonsensical, btw. We’re talking about the criteria that defines a term, so I don’t see what something like that has to do with this. The two types of crane are not related in any way, while the different definitions of racism are all referring to the same thing.
Can we just go back to talking about her speculated gameplay? I asked on page 3 if anybody knows what happens when two different characters with the same start-up frames on command throws do their command throws at the same frame. Is it random who gets the throw? Or will there be a “command throw tech” we’ve yet to see?
Yes, because that’s actually how the English language works. If I can find one definition that meets my criteria, then I can use that word to describe that thing.
I got my definition from Merriam-Webster’s. So it’s not like I went to some obscure source for it.
It was meant to demonstrate a concept you weren’t getting using an example a child could understand.
Apparently, she says : "“It starts with a beat and ends with a bang!”"
Reference to music, Capoeira is a dance and a martial art, she may use both Jujutsu and capoeira. The screen with the axe Kick goes in that way too.
An axe kick, certainly an overhead (as fast as Elena’s Ex one ?). Airborne, maybe low crush. Command move or Special I think. I wonder if Christie in X Tekken has a move like that.
Again, I’m not sure of that. She took hit and her V gauge is empty. The first thing to think is that thing is her v skill. But she could have the same powerup than Ryu or Ken, Thunder add to her different moves (which paralyse her opponent for a brief moment, add blockstun or things like that).
I said that a lot but I like to think that could be a counter with something like a mix between Cammy’s and Nash’s V trigger consumption. The gauge empties slowly then entirely if the counter works. The command grab theory is good too.
That may not be the best analysis/hypothesis but at least, I think that’s better than discussing about race in that thread =)
Because it’s not racism, just a characteristic. There’s a difference. He’s calling people racist for picking a character because of their race… That means if I go “oh, this character looks like me…I’ll pick them” I’m racist. No. Can’t go tossing terms around all willy nilly like that.
You’re still missing the point… You said the definition disagreed with me, meaning that I was incorrect. That’s false, considering I posted the definition and it completely backed up what I said. Therefore, your definition takes nothing away from my point.
Your example sucked. You were reaching, as it wasn’t remotely close to what we’re talking about.
No, it means if you go “Oh, this character is Black like me…I’ll pick them.” you are, technically, being racist. Because you are displaying a preference for a race. Than that is technically racism, even if it’s your own race.
It’s a non-issue because it has jack shit to do with the game. Street Fighter ain’t trying to do social political commentary and push agendas. It’s about beating other people up.
