Skippy - Learn defense. That Ken just jumped in whenever he wanted. If you would have blocked and anti-aired he would have kept doing it until he was dead. Yes… they do that. You would think after getting aa’d 6-7 times in a row they would stop jumping… they don’t. lol
Block high as they jump in to block the jump… then immediately low to get the cr.mk. Go into training and record the dummy doing the jump in, and practice (at least) your crouching HP to AA it.
Barely anyone of my skill level on TWO different platforms. Even on all the fighting game message boards cannot find any matches. Being ridiculously out matched. Is not fun at all, and doesn’t motivate one to keep playing especially when assholes are now taunting during matches.
Speaking as someone who’s honestly not that much better myself, I’d say you might benefit from just spending a week focusing on improving your anti-air game. It helped me quite a bit and it’s nice to just have that small moment of triumph where you can go “HA! You don’t get to jump in on me for free today motherfucker”. Other things I noticed: you never threw out an overhead. You need to do that once in a while just to keep the opponent nervous otherwise they’ll just hold down-back until you slip up and hang yourself. You might also want to spend some time in training mode just nailing down the execution for crouching MK -> fireball because that’s something real simple that ends up being absurdly useful and there were some times where it didn’t come out. There’s also a distinct lack of fireball pressure in your game, but I don’t know the matchups so I can’t say if that’s actually a deficiency or not.
Used to play Guile on a different account and went to 1500-2000 BP, but then I had a massive break for a couple of months and made a new account and I wanted to play Dudley.
you need to learn the timing to duck under fireballs. the idea of that ducking move with dudley is to duck the fireball then hit your opponent but your ducking from too far away to take advantage of that. if you know your opponent likes to throw fireballs, then stand at a range that the move will be able to hit them when they throw a fireball. see 1:42 as thats what should be happening every time your opponent throws a fireball.so you shouldn’t be using it when your standing right next to your opponent.
learn some safe jumps(you could probably find these in the character forums or on youtube).
Pay attention to what your opponent is doing. he likes to sweep when you are close so you could have done a few things
1.focus attack absorb the sweep then either dash in and throw or get a level3 focus attack and do more damage
2. stand just outside sweep range so it will miss completely when he throws it out giving you the opportunity to punish.
frame traps
block low. When you got close you got hit by sweep a few times.
sometimes its best to block on your opponents wake up
wheres the combos at?
Wheres the machine gun blow? i believe the light version is safe on block at close range
.
take note i’m terrible at this game+ don’t play dudley. if you want more specific information then go to the character forums they could give you better information on what you should be doing as well as safe jumps & frame traps you could use.
Don’t expect a lot of posts here, I’m trying to build an online scene beginners meanwhile, I’m going to all the boards and gathering up everyone I can from PS3 and PC.
you don’t block enough…learn to block up and down then retaliate with one of abillion of dudleys options…I main dudley so not to be a dick js block and focus fireballs if u can don’t let them just abuse your health bar…
Alright, first off you gotta realize when they have a link or not. That meaning if they are stringing punches and kicks together to make blockstun hold you in place. Expect them to go high then low or low then high so be more worried about blocking then retaliate. Dudley has many options such as his uppercut, I recommend you only use s.hp uppercut when catching a leaping foe. Use the light uppercut for mostly ending any links such as j.hk c.lp c.lp mgb uppercut. If you are getting pressured or there jumping in on you alot use short swing blow for a nice chunk. As I see you said you know his bnb then why aren’t you executing it?. Maybe its just lack of practice cause that brings consistent results. As for any other advice, setup ur u2 with crumple or activate it if someone uses their ultra poorly the frames for recovery give you plenty of time to input it.
I can execute it but in a match, I start panicking and mess it up, plus the lag and the bnbs keep on dropping. But thanks for the advice. I will try to hit the bnbs by focusing just on that and when I can hit them consistently without dropping, I will practice on other aspects.
@Chukz15 I will accept your friend, but cant right now as I can go on my ps3 for 2 days as I am someplace with no ps3’s.
