My stream matches were a horrible way to judge my player skill … if you’ve watched bums house stream then u would know that i was playing really nervous =[ … but hopefully thats all out of my system for the next big tournaments !
I’m not sure if anyone has noticed this but if you have a team, or a specific time during a match, where Skrull is in the second position on your team, you can TAC up and instantly do a meter smash H (if in corner) and you can actually combo from it without x-factor because of the distance traveled. I’m not sure if this works midscreen I haven’t had a lot of time to test it. Usually a crouching H or S and follow with a short air combo. This can be used as an extension for your combos.
I hope to be able to spend some time this weekend to try and figure some Skrull tech!
I want to pick up Skrull real bad. I was thinking about putting him in as my Anchor for my Captain America / Spencer duo, currently being backed up by Hawkeye. Problem with him as an anchor is I’d basically use him just to cross up and Inferno XF3 Inferno down their whole team.
I have issues though with comboing with him, mostly with charged S.H to OTG / wall bounce. I can never seem to get it just right. Is there a trick to doing that that would make it a little easier? I also have a lot of issues comboing off of a j.dH. I know you need to dash in but everytime I try to hit them to continue a combo into a launcher I whiff the shit out of it. If I could figure out solutions to those two problems I think I’d finally be able to use this character that I think is so slept on it’s criminal
If it helps, try occasionally forcing yourself to use every other one of his tools -but- XF3 Meteor Smash -> Inferno. Intergrate all his other tools into your game so that you don’t feel pressured into relying on a tactic that is far from foolproof against opponents that know how to deal with it. That way you keep them guessing and scared enough to catch them with it when the opportunity arises.
Also, Kl’rt can perform extended combos off of Meteor Smash in XF3. =] Leads to much more damage than going straight into Inferno/Skrull Torch.
Landing Stone Smite as an OTG is still tricky for me, especially online. Generally, the trick is to stagger your inputs for the magic series so that you end up fairly close to the ground when it’s finished, giving you more time to charge before your opponent can recover
Comboing off of a j.:d::h: starter is easier for me if I dash and use c.:h::s: instead, rather than a raw launcher. If j.:d::h: is being used as a relaunch, then make sure you dash on the ground, jump forward and then hit with it, rather than land it off of an air dash. You recover from it a little faster, iirc, so following up with dash :s: should be less difficult.
what is the best thing to do off of an airthrow mid-screen? skrull throws them all the way to the corner and the only move that can reach them is a meteor smash.
Thats a good question I often find myself just Meteor Smash into inferno or just meteor smash and see if they tech for I can grab them but they often never do.I think skrull only option is meteor smash since he throws them so far. I know he can use stone smite to combo off his throws though at closer distances
It is possible to combo off a mid screen grab, but the timing is way too difficult. I was only able to pull it off once out of like 20 tries. You have to wave dash and jump+down-H. Of course grabbing them in the corner allows for damaging combos.
I found it is possible to combo off of a midscreen air throw in conjunction with Arthur’s Dagger Toss assist by calling it out at the same time you input Meteor Smash, though I forget how consistent it is. Daggers in general seem to work fairly nicely with Super Skrull, serving to aid his full screen ground game (cover/combo off of full screen Meteor Smashes, protect wavedashing etc.). Then again, it’s a very strong assist that helps many characters anyway.
For what it’s worth I’m also a pad player, I use a one button dash, and I very seldom tenderizer by mistake when attempting to dash, it just takes practice. As far as what Skrull can do from a full screen dash he doesn’t have a ton of options, obviously there’s meteor smash. But he can X-Factor cancel and have enough time to dash, self OTG and combo. I recall Karsticles mentioning a triple wavedash to tenderizer to sheninagans. I remember spending some time in the lab and being able to pull it off. If I recall, it is not as difficult as Nasty makes it out to be but not worth it. Builds (slightly) more meter, but less damage than if you were just to meteor smash.
Skrull’s non-command grab in the corner is boss, and I’m getting 575k after mash with ease by doing stone smite >> JC Stone Dunk >> launch >> MHS >> meteor smash, inferno.
Last teaser for the upcoming revised Skrull Guide 2.0!

Production for the whole guide will be starting next week with extra bonus sections like learning the Stone Smite timing, how to combo after Brutal Pile bunker, and tiger knee motions.
Good question. Beam and Missiles are both beneficial, but I think Missiles are good for both covering Skrull and combo extensions so I’d pick missiles.
