Any tips on how to rushdown and mixup better with Skrull? I’m new to the character and all I seem to be doing is fishing for a teleport/d.H in the air mixed with Dooms Beam assist or Ghosts’s Chain assist.
elastic grabs covered with assists if you’re at mid range.
[(wave)dash > s.L], covered by one of your assists, is a very powerful tool in Skrulls arsenal. Even if they block you can start his really annoying stagger-mixup: “chain” as many s.Ls as you want (but don’t press the buttons too fast). Eventually you catch a button press or a jump attempt and you can mix in an Elastic Slam anytime. I don’t know who I’ve seen doing this on a stream, might have been Pain or Nasty. Skrulls normals are so good I rarely find myself jumping at all these days.
Yea I’ve been trying to catch Option Select streams lately to see Pain play. Also I have a difficult time wave dashing with Skrull (tenderizerlolz) any tips?
You have to be accurate. You’ll get a hang of it after a while. Try to be precise. Don’t mash son lol

The only trick I do with St. L is the Wesker tactic where you press Sr. L, hesitate, then press it again to catch them trying to pushblock.

What i do is Work his :f::f::f:+:h:. It punishes assist well and easy Hit confirm for a Fully Charged Stone Smite.
I’ve been training with some of the best players around my area (Mine, Xray, even FChamp) so I’ve been learning some new strategies to counter other characters. So far Magneto - Skrull is a 7-3 matchup in Skrull’s favor.
Dante - Skrull is a 8-2 Skrull favor.
Dormammu - Skrull is 6-4 Skrull favor.
Trish - Skrull is 8-2 Skrull Favor.
Doom - Skrull is 6-4 Skrull favor
I think his bad matchups are Strange, Hawkeye, Wolverine, Wesker, Taskmaster, and pretty much anyone else who has multi-hit normals and can rushdown effectively.
Care to give some insight on some of those? preferably trish and dorm? I thought trish went pretty even with srull, if not in her favor.
Like all Trish players, they always jump up and toss out traps. A cross up meteor smash punishes her and avoids the trap at the same time. Her rushdown is also denied from a Orbital Grudge just like Magneto. OG has armor so it beats anyone trying to airdash on you.
Dorm players like to stand next to their Flame Carpet so they have their own cover. Elastic Grabbing him makes it easy since he’s usually standing there. Since he’s also a tall model, you can instant overhead him with jumping :h:. His air dash game is also denied from a orbital Grudge.
Protip: Dorm players like to dash back and toss carpet, you can pressure him to not do this by throwing a Rolling Hook. If you are far away and he’s hiding behind the carpet, you can rolling hook cancel to elastic grab and you’ll full screen grab him.

I think it would be a good idea to make a thread for matchup discussion/advice. I’m curious about the dante matchup.
I would play against my friends trish and he would rarely leave the ground while fighting my skrull. hopscotch and peakaboo completely negates meteor smash and jump S shenanigans and she can just throw shit out while calling assists at her leisure and there wasn’t much i could do about it. I dunno, I must be doing something wrong. : /

also … i hate wolverine … i got some new stuff vs him but its still risky because of his assists … he’s usually backed by frank/tatsu/drones/plasma beam
Why do you feel that the Dante matchup is so heavily in Skrull’s favor? I don’t train with tournament players but I do fight a decent Dante pretty often and I have never felt that Skrull could shut down Dante. I didn’t think Dante had any matchups that were that bad.
