Take it with a grain of salt. Im basically just giving you what little assumptions i can based on my 3 hours with the game.

Super-Skrull would be a Sentinel killer in my opinion. He has one of the most versatile command grab in the entire game, and Sentinel is a VERY HUGE TARGET for an unblockable move with ridiculous range, various angle (anti-air version catch Sentinel when fly and go entire screen) that could start a combo.
Only think about this: Elastic slam -> Tenderizer -> Skrull torch (the simpliest combo, in the corner could be follows uo by Tenderizer -> Death penality)
Also meteor smash gave some problem to the tin giant if he try the keep-away game
What you think about the match-up? Super-Skrull could be a real fear for Sentinel?
So what is everyone thinking as far as teams for Skrull? Iām liking Wesker as a partnerālow assist, teleports, decent DHCs, etc.āwith the idea of doing some rushdown with Wesker to get them used to blocking, then bringing in Skrull to abuse the command grab. Not so sure about a third partner, though. Ammy, Trish, and Sent are always good with any team, so thatās where Iām leaning. I was also thinking Thor, but not sure how the assists on such a team would mesh.
Edit: Deadpool also seems like a reasonable possibility, with his projectile spam to act as mid-range keepaway, as a counterpoint to Skrull as mid-range offense.

He can do Elastic Slam -> Elbow Dive -> ABC -> Launch -> Air Series for the smackdown -> Tenderizer. Iām also guessing he can do KFC -> Death Penalty to replace Tenderizer as a 100% combo since anyone with a level 3 can KFC into a 100% combo anyway.

Team I was looking at was:
Skrull/Wesker/Anti air. For the unblockable mostly, and because Wesker looks like a lot of fun to play. as well as the reasons ogrimtitan posted. I think Skrull makes a better starter than Wesker though, since Wesker is easier to DHC to than Skrull is.
The anti air i was looking at was Morrigan. She would primarily be an assist character so odds are she would come in last, and come in alone. This was why i chose morrigan, because i think small, fast characters will benefit more from KFC than others. Characters like this lack damage, which KFC gives them, making them extremely mobile and extremely dangerous.
But really, Skrull might be better paired with an assist that helps him get in, or an assist that can keep the opponent grounded, since he is really strong on the ground. I think Doom or Taskmaster could fill either of these roles with their various assists. ie. Rocks/horizontal arrows to get in. Missiles/Up arrows to keep them grounded. Pick and choose depending on what you felt you needed more. Sent could definitely fill the āhelping him get closeā role as well.
I think an anti air is a great thing to have with him as well. I wont know how necessary it will be until i get some more games in the bag though.
He -really- needs an anti-air, yeah. I really wish Sent drones were still the same, but hidden missile may be a good choice too.
He shouldnāt have many problems getting in though against keepaway. Thatās what meteor smash is for (though Iād use it more for OTG xx Inferno or level 3 if possible).

I think Iām going to pair him with Storm(typhoon) and Deadpool(AAA guns), from what Iāve seen they will help skrull a lot. Deadpool seems like a good last-man-standing kind of character, and storms Typhoon assist should help Skrull close some distance, that and Hailstorm is boss. Anyone know if either of Skrulls level 1 hypers can DHC to Hailstorm (and it actually connects, instead of just chip)?
I may swap Storm with Wesker for the low hitting assist, or Chun for legs, Iām not sure yet. A distant thought is Akuma with tatsu assist.
DHC into hailstorm always connects as long as the super youāre DHCing FROM actually hits. This is with any super.
Only trouble with storm is actually her assist. Its awesome, and it goes through everything, but it moves really fast. A lot faster than MVC2. Its kinda hard to chase and use as a shield. Even with Skrulls fast wavedash. Great character, but maybe not the best partner for skrull. Sorry to hailstorm on your parade there a bit bro. (see what i did thar? Make it raaaaain. God i must be the most hilarious guy in the world.)
Yeah Iāve noticed theyāre a bit fast, Iām really not sure how well they will work, which is why Iām already thinking of replacements for Storm. I may just end up going Doom rocks. I want to throw Wesker in there with his low hitting assist, Iām not sure how much Skrull will need to rely on assists to cover ground though. Chun legs is very tempting tooā¦
being able to use multiple assist per combo changes things A LOT. deaths are gonna be so horrible in this game again.
when you lose in this game, you REALLY fuckin lose.
I would say another assist worth mentioning would be Tsien-Koās gong reflect. The only thing that has me doubting it is the fact that it does not last very long at all. But while it is out you can follow since it does travel relatively slow. You may be able to set up some psuedo hadouken traps with it as well (gong assist, AA tenderize or AA command grab into combo). The gong while out will thwart any non-beam type projectiles while still causing a hit if opponent runs into it. May only be viable from mid-screen or closer.
You remind me of the only other kiwi Iāve ever met, lol. Thanks for linking that vid CheshireMoose, Iād seen it before but couldnāt find it again. Now to just find an assist that can let Skrull combo after that last tenderizer and his command throw will be a real terror.
You should definitely be friends with that person. He sounds like a beast.
Also, I wonder if you can low tenderizer, KFC the last hit, and go for a relaunch. Might only work in the corner, if at all.
So say you go for that combo.
Command grab -> jd.C -> c.A -> B -> C -> Launch -> j.A -> j.B -> j.C -> j.E -> land -> tenderizer.
This is what im thinking, possibly.
Command grab -> jd.C -> c.A -> B -> C -> Launch -> j.A -> j.B -> j.C -> j.E -> land -> tenderizer -> KFC -> c.A -> B -> C -> Launch + call Iron Man AAA(repulsor blast) -> j.A -> j.B -> j.C -> j.E -> Iron Man hits -> ???
If this is possible, then you could potentially get a 3rd launch in there maybe, although i doubt you could get another OTG in there xx super. I even doubt the possible 3rd launch, but the ??? could be a myriad of cool shit. You could take the free damage and go for a super, or you could go for a jab reset into command throw/other mixup and start the shenanigans AGAIN but under KFC.
You might not be able to get j.E -> Iron man assist to connect though, which wouldnt surprise me tbh. Still, there could be some interesting combo possibilities here.
The KFC into c.A might be tricky if it is even possible. As for the assist I think it would last long enough but, correct me im wrong, IIRC you werenāt able to call out an assist during a super jump and I think the jump cancel after launch is considered a super jump.
Iām wondering if calling out an assist like iron mans AAA or tsien-koās pendulum during the tenderizer would help bring the opponent off the ground more to give extra time to KFC and start another seriesā¦?
You call the assist during the s.E (launcher) on the ground, so actually getting the assist out is fine. And getting the c.A, or even a s.A after the KFC would also require a dash, so yea definitely tricky. And if its even possible I would say it would be corner only, since the last hit of the tenderizer knocks the opponent back a bit.
Can you call assists during tenderizer? Actually you probably can, since its a mash command. If you hit the assist button when you hit the first normal in the mash, you could probably get one out. Thatās an interesting thought actually.
TBH I dont have high hopes for that combo being possible. Would be cool if it was though. I definitely think the Iron Man assist -> reset -> mixup has potential. But i have heard mixed reviews on how the Iron Man AAA juggles in MVC3.

Thatās the worst part about trying to come up with things when the games not even out! But I will definitely be trying out that combo you mentioned. If it does in fact work it will seriously increase the threat of his command grab which is already pretty scary.

My team would probably this: Super-Skrull (orbital grudge)/ Haggar (Lariat AA)/ Spider-man (Web shot) (until they relase VENOM DLC XD)
I think that Haggar lariat would block everything that could damage Skrull from near range and Spider-man Web could be great for setup an offense/mix-up/rushdown wen used properly. Orbital grudge could be useful in some combo, but probably another assist would be better.
