Can anyone list an easier combo that involves or works off of Orbital Grudge>Fatal Buster?
My understanding : if it hits one the way down, it causes groundbounce, and you have only one groundbounce allowed.
If the explosion hits, then it’s pure OTG and the 2nd hits launches.
To me, it’s completly a positionning problem, which makes the loop VERY hard as you can’t see Skrull while doing it.
That makes sense. I think we’ll all need to keep practicing it so we can get that stuff to work flawlessly.
found something interesting last night, not sure if it’s been posted already, if so, my bad!!! Meteor smash can be cancelled into hyper before making contact with the ground, not sure how early you can cancel into the hyper. Only real applications i can think of off hand are for Lariat whoring Haggars, or possibly Akuma Tatsu whores…that’s IF you can cancel early enough to activate the hyper above their head, which i haven’t got to test thoroughly.
I’m going to second a question above: I love Skrull, and really want to main him. His combos are great, his moves are good, but I’m having a terrible time finding a consistent offense. It seems like while he has useful moves, he has a lot of trouble actually getting in consistently and doing anything but 1-hit into super. Anyone have any good tactics and such?
Well he has a pretty fast wave dash, so calling a beam assist and dashing in is a good way to start your offense. Then apparently his limbs are projectile invincible when you are command grabbing so from a certain distance you should be able to grab right through any projectile attemps. From any of his grabs he can get a very good amount of damage as well but he is very meter dependent so you probably don’t wanna be starting him on point.
Check this out Marvel vs Capcom 3/Super-Skrull - Shoryuken Wiki, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Strategy and More! it goes very in depth into making a skrull team and mounting an offense with him.
Yup! I found this too. I actually find it useful against Sentinel. If Sent does Hyper Sentinel Force, you can immediately react with Meteor Smash > Inferno/Death Penalty, if landing just the 1st hit. If you land the 2nd hit, you risk getting hit by a wave of drones, depending on how your timing was.
I was actually doing it on whiff last night, didn’t have to make any contact with the opponent or the ground, it was coming out above my opponent’s(cap’s) head
I find Skrull adjusts based on your opponent. If my opponent is zoning, I do a lot of F+Cs, Meteor Smashes, command grabs, and D+C’s in the air.
If my opponent is rushing down, I’ll use jumping Cs, low attacks, and so on.
There’s this pretty scrubby guy online who uses Skrull, I think his name is Hi Im Nasty, but anyways, he has a high rank and all he does is that meteor move>super, even if it doesn’t hit. Anyways, what’s Skrull’s best assist? I’ve been using the otg assist because I use Mags.
I’d say use Tenderizer assist since you can set up so much after it with Mags (cross-under, air throw, etc.) but I don’t think there’s a way to consistently get an opponent into it with a combo.
Who’s your other team mate?
Sent
I use Mags/Dante/Sent, but I’ve been trying out skrull because he’s pretty fun to use.
Depends on your playstyle really more often than not I’m rushing down with spencer/wolvie/wesker and I need a good assist to hold them in place and for that I use tenderizer. The silver lining here is that the obvious choice for a smaller or average size character woud be just to duck under it, bam free over head set up. Personally I find no use for orbital grudge or stonesmite I’m sure they’re mainly just combo extenders or an odd otg in stonesmites case(weksers/deadpools is much better imo).
So I’m guessing you’re team now is Mag/Skrull/Sent? I’ll still go with Tenderizer. I’ve been trying to think of a way to combo into it, but I’ve got nothing (I’m not big on Mags). At the very least, if you catch an opponent trying to duck it, you can go for the overhead or the grab. And if you hit with it, like I said you got some mixups after it.
I do know Sent has a way to combo into it with an air combo, then assist call into A Rocket Punch. If you check the videos thread for Super Skrull, there’s a guy using it with Wesker where he does the Wesk air combo, OTG’s with the gunshot and that hits them into the assist. From there, he can air throw on recovery, Maximum Wesker for guaranteed damage, relaunch, command grab when they land, etc. Sent can do the same thing.
help?

Random Meteors only work against scrubs
I think you should be doing less Meteor Smashes. Also, Inferno does more damage than Skrull Torch. Follow up your grabs with a j.Down+H. After Infernos, try to go for resets with Tron backing you up in case you mess up…there’s a ton of them.
If your problem is fighting Sentinel, the kara grab works pretty good. As soon as you see them fly, react with H Elastic Slam.
I’ll add in a bit here. After a j. D+C, you can hit with A, at which point if you wait a bit, your opponent will air recover. It’s great to reset again with an A Elastic Slam, or you can follow with a variety of more mixups.
I also want to see more F+C w. Storm Assist. Seems like you were using Meteor Smash for mobility, but remember that it’s unsafe.
Yup! You even have enough time to dash under and attack from the other side.
I do allot less meteor’s now, I wasn;t aware of how useful skrull’s kara grab was vs flying sent. I’m usually very cautious when fighting sent with Skrull, because I’ve got my ass kicked really bad by sent.
Yeah thanks I learned really quick that i need to add more to my skrull arsenal if I don’t want to get downloaded and beaten quickly.
Thanks for the info guys. The comment about “random meteors” is a bit ignorant. Obviously random shit kills scrubs. Thanks for stating that while being a dick head at the same time.
Question. With storm what assist type should Skrull be on?
