Some thing’s in your list I don’t think is needed but a lot of it makes sense, despite what other people would say about it. People would just spout out "She will be top tier " yet want significant changes to few characters >->. Anyways what do you feel about her St.M? I really don’t like that move lol.
What things you don’t think its needed?
As for the “Move after airborne SBK”: she falls back to the ground with no recovery, I’d like that to change
Her st.M is good to confirm juggling opponents. I don’t really use it when my opponent is on the ground, because it may whiff and the range of her cr.M is better, but I do use it a lot while I’m comboing juggling characters.
Actually nevermind nothing seems excessive I don’t know why I said it the first time O_O I wonder if Capcom would really update UMVC3, these changes would be really good for her! So what do you think Chun would get from 3x airdash or jump if it were to be implemented?
Biggest thing would be superjump height confirmations/resets. Also, it would make her even better and not being in mixup territory, which is pretty much her biggest strength.
I’m new to the game and trying to find a good team with Chun.
I was thinking about doing Captain America/Chun/XXX
Is this a good idea and who should I put on anchor?
Edit: In the end I’m thinking about Chun/Doom/Dog
Is this a good synergie?
I’d appreciate even more mobility.
It would help against Trishes, for example.
Super Jump hitconfirm could be made by making her able to move after a SBK (EX SBK).
I can confirm from super jump with her, but it’s really hard and depends on the your/ your opponents height.
Her neutral j.HK from SFIV would be welcome too =)
Is the Nova matchup something that Chun-Li can handle? I’m not too experienced with the character yet, but it seems like this is absolutely unplayable.
I’m essentially praying for an airdash normal with no assist call behind it and attempting to punish with Tenshyokyaku. I’m normally fine with dash Legs and dash c. to cover lots of ground space, but Nova has a good lock on the ground game with his c.
.
Jumping away is putting me into a corner and I’m trying not to rely on double and triple jumps too much because that’s a bad habit against things like Hidden Missiles assist or Nova’s dirty side switching game with an off-screen Drones assist. Maybe if I move on the ground a little more intelligently while he’s in the air, I can punish a whiff, but while Nova is on the ground things get real tough real quick.
Wondering what peoples’ thoughts are.
The matchup is really bad.
Paulow3b has started playing Nova and its a PAIN to hit him.
His shield + huge hitboxes are really bad for her to face.
Also, his cr.M punishes any whiffed SBK. He doesn’t even have to wait and punish.
Add the magical throw range and you’re pretty much f** up.
My sugestion: your best shot is when he is at super jump height.
If you get close, be sure to pressure him.
And watch out for random Speed Tackle.
Thanks, I was really hoping it was just me but it seems like the matchup really is that bad, LOL.
His normals are just so beefy, it’s insane. x_x;
Good evening to everybody!
hey guys, I’m new with chun-li…
I’m trying to make a Chun-Li/ S. Skrull/ Dormammu. Do you think it’s a good team?
I have Chun Li with Hyakuretsukyaku for Lockdown
Super Skrull with Stone Smite for Extend (i think is really useful because neither Dormammu or Chun Li have a WB)
Dormammu with Black Hole (Proyectile)
If someone could help me, I will be very thankful ^^
If your Chun is on point, as long as your assists give you safe alpha counters and DHCs along with helping you get a clean hit, you should be good in general.
Technically speaking, it seems very hard to make a top heavy point Chun-Li team, so if your other two characters can work together well after Chun takes a dive, you should still be good. I would definitely invest in making sure your assists can help you land a clean hit with Chun, though. I think that’s the most important role an assist can provide her.
mmm well, The DHC from Chun Li to Super Skrull is very good Kikosho --> Inferno or Skrull Torch 850-890k depending how damaging was the Chun Li combo (If i get it right, I can perform from 660-689k ). Stone Smite is very good for combo extenders , specially for Chun Li (in my opinion), because it produces a Wallbounce and comes very fast
Dormammu Black Hole, for the moment, it help me… Chun Li can make her approach more safe, and if the Hole hits, she can always continue to combo (but I haven’t check the damage scaling)
I need to practice more the Chun-Li’s Combos, the Jump with Yosokyaku, Air Dash and J.H it’s my biggest fail… I drop the enemy like 6/10 times in combos.
Even with chun li down, S. Skrull and Dormammu can take care by themselves. Dormammu as well can use Stone Smite.
(PD: sorry for my bad english)
I wouldn’t recommend picking an assist because it is good for combos. You should focus on how to land the first hit, not how many hits you can get with that.
Chun-Li doesn’t need bounces to deal a high damaging combo. She also has Kikoanken, wich allows raw tag to a high damaging character who can finish the job.
I can kill Thor from 0 meter if I hit him with Kikoanken and raw tagging to Akuma.
Kikosho is great for happy birthdays. So is Inferno, but if the opponent XFactors, you’re gonna have to DHC one more time or burn your XF because that DHC is not safe on block.
Hail Storm is the best DHC for happy birthdays.
You can also pick beams of any kind of DHC that can keep your safe.
ok I get it. about the assists
I’m working on Ammy, for she to replace Dormammu. Just need more time xD Cold Star is a good assist right? For Chun.
I reaally like Super Skrull, I will be sad if I had to change him from the team, I just Hope Orbital Grude or Tenderizer can help me D:
But I’m willing to try Storm if Skrull can’t help me, I like her enough. I am going to need time to learn her.
Thanks for the advise!
I would give Orbital Grudge a try. Do you know if the assist retains its armor properties from point? I can’t remember.
I think Storm is a great partner for Chun-Li; I run them together and it’s quite effective.
Cold Star I think is a decent assist for Chun-Li. It’s mostly good for lockdown, but you can pick up some stray hits with it. You can also try using horizontal or vertical beams to help you get in or pace your approach.
IIRC Orbital Grudge retains the armor frame in assist.
I was wandering about the the chun/akuma tech.
I wanna try running chun/ironman
/akuma team. With the idea if getting corner with chun and tac to infinite. I want also to try running im/akuma and see how it rolls
.
My main concern atm is having two horizontal assusts (beam and tatsu) but it ain’t that bad. So… how us chun’s corner carry potential?
P.s
I also saw some nice instant overhead tech with here which might be great woth those assists
Hey guys, What is your opinion of The Matchup
X-23 vs Chun Li (Both by good/pro/average players)
Chun Li has the edge? or X-23?
A Friend of mine use X-23 as a Point, is difficult to hit him because of her speed, but at the same time, Chun Li is almost as fast as her to be safe from her Jump M.
X can be difficult because she’s so fast when she swings, but Chun is fortunate enough to have a punish game that is almost unrivaled, so if X tries the junk she has that’s usually not punishable, she will eat a full combo. What I’ve learned is to put a priority on downloading the X player’s feint cancel patterns and, when push comes to shove, don’t press a button.
Just make sure to keep an eye on how X moves and scout the command grab; X doesn’t really have a mixup game per se, so once X players realize their “mixup” game isn’t working, assists will start coming out and setting up for command grabs. X gets a lot of setups from people just sitting in block, so while blocking is good in this matchup (it’s really good), you still have to move around intelligently or else you won’t get an opportunity to start an offense.
If you sit in block, she can do frame positive stuff all day long, but that stuff is harder to pull out without whiffing when you’re being mobile. When X takes to the air, watch out for Talon Strikes and her dive; when you see these MOVE OUT OF THE WAY. Especially from the dive, she can side switch on block or hit, so don’t give her the opportunity. Use your anti-air or space control assists to pick her out of the sky and return to a neutral game.
im new to chun, but she seems like she’s very good, amazing movement and not as brain dead as playing as.
ive been trying chun,dante,strange
with chuns kicks assist, jam session, and bolt
thinking about it both assists help chun a projectile and a lockdown/anti air
also chun got hard tag to get the flames loop off a crumple
idk though what do u guys think?
i feel like chun will be top tier
