yeah a little old, like 5 years old hahaha
Anyone ever try frame trapping by doing normal, gap, normal xx lk legs? It’s supposed to be positive after, only problem I can think of is maybe lk legs pushing out too far and whiffing the last hits making it unsafe.
If lk legs does hit though, you could link an EX legs or a far HP or something though.
Can’t test right now but Jab, gap Jab xx LK legs seems like it might work?
You can also U1 or Super once you block the first sweep. It’s why many Guiles don’t c. hk anymore.
All I gotta say is, it feels good having a DP, 2 or 3 bars with an ultra in this matchup. The only matchups where I
i typically do cr.lp then cr.hp legs because it leads to damage if it hits, and otherwise it allows you to do more frametraps after.
Who are Chun’s hardest matchups in USF4?
Poison IMO.
Yun imo. Poison is tough but becomes easier when you’re near a la Guile
hawt
How to punish Rolento rolls? I’ve been told dash up legs but I’d say it works about 50% of the time
Reversal EX Legs, Sweep (tight timing), ST. MP, (reversal) Super, reversal Ultra 1. Doing Super is way more lenient on the timing because it’s the fastest move she has, but reversal is still guaranteed as Rolento is considered on the ground after a blocked roll despite the animation showing him bouncing back into the air…
Dash up takes too much time as he’s only -8 after blocking a roll. If you hit him that way, I’d say the other player just wasn’t blocking at the time.
Edit: Btw, If your reactions are good (like mine) then you can actually Ultra 1 the little backflip he does before he attempts the roll. It actually has more recovery than something like Juri’s FB storage. It is 35f total if he does no follow up which is 4f more than Juri’s storage so it’s significantly easier to react and punish with Ultra.
Catch him for even thinking about rolling.
Maybe this will help with Rolento:
SGB Grande Final | USF4 - Ryan Hart (Rolento) Vs Valmaster (Chun Li):
I like the focus attack on the kick after pogo hop, seems useful.
Rolento could use MP instead in that situation though, couldn’t he? The spinning baton jump-in? That would break focus.
I’ve gotten pretty good with the oni matchup, hopefully this will help someone. You need to keep him away, st.mp and far hp are great tools in the match. Try to stay in standing hp range or tip of mp range, this will allow you to counter his pokes and hazan shu over his fireballs. I think this match is highly in our favor but patience is key.
Ultra Street Fighter IV battle: Chun-Li vs Oni: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf4PWxC3KPc
IMO Chun dominates Oni.
Decapre? Not really having any troubles with her but I don’t have a clue what she’s doing half the time.
For example when she goes invisible and goes high or low or whatever you guys queuing up FA or how are you dealing with her BS?
Anything U1/super can punish? Anti-Airing seems too risky to try, I’ve been counter hit too much
I’m currently 3-1 versus online Decapre players just seeking tips for some things to look out for.
I just play lame. I will literally down back and wait to punish. I’m sure malvadisco will have more to say about this match as I think he plays her.
You can punish her HHS on block with super
chun destroy my decapre hard lol
HK super can punish all hands version barring EX
everything you block can be punished barring properly spaced divekicks/air drills and meaty ground pound. everything else chun can punish
abuse sweep as decapre cant do much about it I dont have a sweetspot in this MU yet
everytime you block a sting (her “flash kick”) you can do w/e you want because its -28 on block
and other stuff
How do you go about predicting some of decapre’s mixups and stuff? What do you do at close range, mid range, far, her knock down, my.knock down etc?
can anyone tell me how to play against poison? that bitch is annoying as fuck.
- running away in the corner
- spamming fireballs
- abusing focus attack after fireballs
- backdashing like hell to get away and throw more fireballs
- her normals stuff a lot of chun-li’s moves
chun’s st.mp is weak against poison as well because poison can just keep throwing fireballs, and if I use hazanshu a lot I’m going to get eaten up by focus attacks.
help??
Lately I’ve felt poison is evenish.
Pick ultra 1 since she juggles now, use st.mp in range for it to hit. I don’t think she can punish sweep but I may be wrong.
So here’s a flow chart
Beginning of round:
Shamelessly build u1
Mid: get in mid range to play footsies and push her to the corner. If she doesn’t die yet use the corner to rush her down
Hazanshu is not to be used
