Lol I just stumbled upon this the other day and forgot to make a post. Too good.

Anyone have any Juri matchup knowledge? She scares me =( I don’t know if she’s only good online like T-Hawk, or what, but I can’t get inside and I can’t zone her that well.

To me its a 5-5 match up (yep in AE specially), one thing u have to know is don’t get cornered and don’t fucking jump, u´ll get ur ass whoop big time, her blockstrings/frame traps are insanely good in the corner and her air to air game its quite good, actually if by any reason u are in the corner don’t push a fucking button (late tech is a must) until she´s quite far from you, cr.mk xx fuhajin release is something u don’t fuck with, wait at least two reps before doing anything, specially kikokens cuz they are not so good in this mu, dive kicks can punish you, in fact almost everything that juri does its very safe if spaced correctly, learn the strings (i.e cr.lp, st.lp, st.lk, lk pinwheel, aka senpusha, usually after this if u press something u´ll eat a EX pinwheel, wait for it an punish it with either U1 or cr.hk, be careful cuz the EX pinwheel is active for a long time, making it kind of deceiving to punish) u can use either ultra, its about your style, U1 has a little edge imo since df.lk nerf make it very useless as a counter to divekicks plus u can punish a blocked EX pinwheel and EX fuhajin release, BUT U CANT punish a normal fuhajin release or store stance cuz U1 gets stuffed/wont reach in time. Like i said before do not jump, her cr.mp its to damn gdlk (u can try some empty jumps to fuck with her timing, or try a early j.hk, but juri has other options too ;_; ) and her j.mp its faster than our target combo, just play grounded, u can AA her quite easily, cr.hk, st.mk, cr.mp are your main AA (cr.hk in AE its almost the same imo, and cant be punished by DJ sobat light kick BTW). hazanshu is very situational cuz it will lose against HP fuhajin release (the fireball that goes upwards), i dont like to use it aside from frame traps and blockstrings and even then dont overuse it. When u are rushing her treat her like a rufus, if she has meter u basically are gambling against EX pinwheel or EX counter, use player information to deal with this (i.e some players loves to EX pinwheel while others just use EX counter) be very careful about the EX counter cuz she can cross you up and start her offense, her backdash lose against OS sweep, if the juri is meterless use it. Thats all i can remember right nao, i hope this give some ideas, if some one has a better exp with the MU feel free to share.

Jab and (from farther away) s. mp and s. hp seem to work well against the Twins’ dives.

Thanks, Malva. Definitely gave me some ideas. Juri’s zoning game is sooo sick. I kind of want to pick her up since they increased her walk-speed. She’s about Sakura’s footspeed now I think.

Thanks for the tip earlier about using U1 against Yun. I find it’s sometimes easy to bait the palm by throwing out some kikokens for him to palm while he’s about full screen, which hopefully creates the illusion that you’re afraid to advance or know what to do and that he’s safe standing back to build meter with it.

s. HP is also a godsend for when they try any dive kicks from far out.

any match up info on Guy. this match has become like…difficult for me…with hardly anyone playing him i have zero knowledge on what to do

np, i used to play this mu with U2, but nao en AE with the df.lk nerf i really dont know how viable is to land it, its so sad ;_;

yea it gets stuffed alot…i hate AE …Ass Edition…why nerf anyone in this game with the Twins so strong…smh -_-

If you react to Guy’s Run, and U1 on reaction before he has input any extra commands, can he stop in time to block?

according to the frame data guy is in recovery for 17 frames before blocking from a run&stop, so i dont think he can block a hosenka that fast, assuming a naked run, cuz a cancelled run its another history (ie. cl.fierce xx run)

What do people think of the Oni matchup? I played around 10 games with a pretty good Oni. I thought it was in Chun’s favour but it seems like it’s more or less even.

The main problems I had were:

-His fireball is pretty hard to hazanshu over. It’s probably just me, but it seems to recover really fast and the speed is pretty deceptive.

-His F+HP is really good and seems to beat out alot of Chun’s pokes. I need to test this some more, but it seems like it’s tough to focus it and punish.

-It’s hard to anti-air him because of his command air dashes.

That’s all I think of for now.

So far I’ve not had that many issues with the Oni Match Up I’d say its 6-4 Chun… When I have more time I might edit this post with my reasons why, but I have no issue using HSU to go over fireballs and also tbf I just play the match up like I am fighting Guile and that seems to work…

This is essentially how I treat the matchup as well. Also, if you can predict his elbow attack while he’s still airborne, St. MK beats it clean…

I like reacting to Guy’s elbow with U2, personally =P

i dont like to use slow ultras as AA, bison u1 and chun u2, at least for me is very easy to screw those up

same here mostly because Chun lunges forward so much for Kikosho back when i still used that damn ultra I had a Ken jumping in at me and she went forward so far he just barely went over my head thus I got scrubbed out and was one of the last matches I ever used U2 as well as the time I had to start taking true A/Aing with normals more seriously.
but hell I can’t win for shit these days anyway thus I haven’t been playing, nor have I had the desire.
