The thing is, Guy’s elbow is so slow that it’s not that hard to react to. Maybe online it’s different but in person, I have no trouble with it.

Guy’s elbow and Ibuki’s EX Kazegiri (uppercut) are really the only things I react to with U2.

For me lk HSU gets stuffed at certain distances, but I probably shouldn’t be using that one/from afar… mk and hk HSU (which I do use more often) go over his normal and electric hadoukens just fine for me.

Fierce/EX Slash aside, I’ve mostly played keep away/like I would the other shoto matches, and it seems to be working well for me thus far.

Cl. HK has been working against Guy’s elbow for me. I use it from crouch position… since from there he can’t grab you and elbow automatically comes out instead of grab at a certain point. Good damage from counter-hit.

The players sticking with Chun online seem to be mostly the good ones now haha So… There’s this mid-range thing Chuns like to use against me when I play runaway ^^; They will mixup using jump fierce and hk hasanshu on me… which is effective because online it is hard to choose the correct reaction when you have to worry about 2 things in a very short amount of time. I end up being put in a bad position for having to absorb a target combo, and the other Chun basically gets a free mix-up.

The easy reactions to jump hp (ground to air, air to air) are wrong against hasanshu at a certain distance, especially if your reactions are weighed down. So get closer and the option to use focus absorb reaction opens up again, because if Chun jumps then you can just dash under and win the exchange, and if she HSU then you would be dashing forward anyways.

A quick thing on playing vs Bison’s scissors kick pressure in AE that I should’ve posted a couple of weeks ago: If he’s trying to do something like [cr. lk xx lk scissors] x N , after blocking the 1st scissors kick, block high. He can’t touch you with another cr. lk and you can whiff punish immediately with your normals. I personally use b+ MK, b + MK, D,U + MK target combo for this.
The changes in AE made it so that scissors kick pushes too far back for him to keep you locked down if you STAND block after crouch blocking scissors. This applies to about half of the cast and they can whiff punish him in that situation as well.

This also works when your back is to the corner.

that´s why im not using scissors loops, actually after one scissor i ussually look for a reaction and then i do either st.hk, st.mk, cr.mp or another scissor w/o the cr.lk. So yeah crappy bipson are still doing loops, if u are fighting one of those you deff have to punish that shit

idk about u guys, but i was messing around in training mode, trying to find a good OS against rose (hard match up for my chun xD) but i couldn’t find anything useful, but using some ideas i realize that this OS works against rufus:

f.throw, dashx2, meaty cr.lp, st.lp+hp (dont forget to hold back while doing st.lp+hp)

if rufus use mesiah you block (cuz autoblock + chainables normals = win) and punish with u1

if rufus backdashes you tag him with far hp

if for some reason cr.lp connects it will chain into cl.lp, from there u can do cr.lp into st.hp or cr.mk xx EX legs after the cl.lp.

i think is useful to bait those mesiah, but who knows…

Seems pretty useful, after throw I generally use her safe jump now (I used to dash into cr.fierce xx legs for the chip and take the damage off EX Messiah then do the sweep punish after the last hits whiff but it seems Rufus players are happy with that trade)… f.throw, dash jump fp, hold downback and fp+hk, it beats backdash and you block the messiah…

Once you’ve used it a few times you then have the mix up like on Sagats with empty jump or only one fp in the air, it seems very decent but I’ll keep your post in mind :slight_smile:

the thing is that using the j.hp OS in training room the dummy always got hit by the mesiah, thats when i realize that sweep its to slow to use autoblock properly… or maybe my execution sucks big time ;_;

LOL yeah I hate Rose also against her I can’t find an OS to get her backdash, I’ve tried sweep OS but she gets away :frowning: She’s a bitch but basically a motion version of Chun lol

And that’s my reasoning for picking her up as an alt (and for my previous user picture lol). Poke/footsie/dash heavy characters.

OS sweep works wonders for me (you need to be very close when u knock her down), the problem is that it looses to EX drillthing, that´s why i was trying to use the st.hp OS against her in ther first place, actually the other thing that tag her is the b.mk target combo, but it looses to EX drillthing too ;_;

Yeah, seems like you have to choose to OS the backdash or safejump the drill since it has quite a bit of invincibility. Though I can’t hate Rose backdashing herself closer the corner.

another OS against rufus

f.throw, dash, j.lk~Ex hazanshu (the j.lk is a cross up)

if rufus back dashes chun reset him gaining a mix up
if rufus does wake up mesiah (reversal or not) doesnt get autocorrected and EX hazanshu tag him
if rufus does EX snake, MP snake or HP snake EX hazanshu tag him (same as EX mesiah)
if rufus does Wake up ultra1 (reversal or not) the hazanshu wont activate and the ultra wont hit you, punish accordingly
if rufus does reversal super chun lands behind him, punish
ir rufus does late super chun gets hit.
if rufus does lp snake the hazanshu whiff.

if you have super use HK hazanshu (mk wont reach), same results by trading knockdown for super link.

if for some reason rufus knows this set up and use a lp snake you can do lk hazanshu and punish his snake, but you wont be able to punish mesiah.

another OS, against juri

f.throw, dash, j.hk~cr.hk (the j.hk lands in front of juri its not a cross up)

if juri back dashes os sweep tag her
if juri does EX pinwheel (aka senpusha) reversal or not chun lands behind her activating the cr.hk
if juri does reversal lk/mk super, chun lands behind her, punish accordingly (cr.hk wont activate)
if juri does EX counter cr.hk hit her activating the counter, be careful with the follow up (any other version gets stuffed by the cr.hk)
if juri does hk super (reversal or not) chun gets hit (chun can safe jump this by removing the cr.hk from the set up)
if juri does lk/mk super late chun gets hit (chun can safe jump this by removing the cr.hk from the set up)
if juri does U2 reversal or not chun gets hit (chun can safe jump this by removing the cr.hk from the set up)

if by any reason the j.hk connects, confirm it into BnB of choice
if the j.hk gets blocked use blockstrings to maintain momentum
