uh, this is a Beatmania IIDX thread.
I didn’t know what the IIDX meant if it wasn’t obvious. Sorry for not knowing what IIDX meant, and assuming every Beatmania game used the exact same controlls. :wonder:
…you linked to a DDR simulator, which is still not Beatmania.
He was playing stepmania I believe.
Most people hated on the american controller because the buttons were a little harder to press than the JKOC and the turntable was tight, even thouse all you had to do was loosen the screw at the bottom. But I thought it was just fine, especially considering the buttons NEVER ONCE stuck on me. Even with my modded JKOC I occasionally get a key to stick, which is really frustrating when you go for a hard clear and have a good random.
Then again since I play on ASC now, I kind of consider playing on KOCs cheating since you can so easily wrist scratch, but that’s just me being sad that my hands aren’t big enough to warrant wrist scratching on ASC.
Most people hated on it? I thought it was universally considered to be superior to the JPKOC. The buttons don’t stick at all…JPKOCs have a really short stick-free lifespan.
I want an ASC, but so much damn money.
same i thought everyone praised it as the best koc. i still have my original jpkoc, but i’ve tried so much to get the buttons to not stick, that i just got tired of it.
Like I said, I thought it was pretty good becuase the keys never stick, but there are people out there who I suppose are ok with keys sticking.
I used the USKOC for quite a while, never had one problem with it. had to mod my JKOC to all hell after like 1 month of use. Took the plunge and got an ASC last year and haven’t looked back.
I thought I was done with all 11s except for like 8 of them, then Empress came in lol.
played an arcade version a few times and have the US version. still waiting to be able to play japanese games on my PS2, then I’ll get all the others and play. After playing the us version a bit, I was around the 7-8 mark.
I have 7th, 10th, Happy Sky, Distorted, Gold, and DJ Troopers.
I haven’t played in a while though. I can only play 8-9’s.
Woo, clear No. 13 [a]
this game was p cool about… 7 years ago. i stopped playing around 9th style. even then i just bought it played it for about 2 hours and its still gathering dust…wait…i think i sold it. i dunno.
the series has come a long way and has improved unlike the Dance Dance Revolution Series which wasn’t a game that aged well and actually gotten worse as newer games were released.
I can’t agree with that completely. I think that SN2 was a great version.
I used to play a lot, from 6th up until just before Distorted CS came out. I have a Desktop Arcade ASC, for all the shit they get in Tech Talk about arcade sticks Rob makes some nice IIDX/PNM controllers. Since I came to college a little over a year ago my friend brought his copy of Troopers and USKOC and I actually really like it over the JKOC I used to use.
I suck compared to how I used to be, but I am back to passing quite a few 11s now.
Compared to what PIU is doing, naw. DDR was nice at first and simple, but it’s more same old same old while jacking shit from ITG and such.
True. It had a lot more gems than the previous mixes had but i cannot definitively say it justifies the entire series.
lets say 4th was a improvement to 3rd.
4th+ to 4th
5th to 4th+
meeeh 6th had good songs but the arcade version was severely lacking older favorites by 100% the JPN PS2 version got it right though.
6th to 7th was a good jump and it was exactly what the series needed and 8th/Extreme.
At this point when supernova/9th? and supernova 2/10th i cannot say these games made leaps and bounds like the other versions have, but can you really say there was much to add, who knows?
Brett Good stuff clearing no 13. [a]
Trying to knock out some 12s bu they are all impossible.
So, I finally got Empress… and now my 7 key decides to start sticking.
