To use GG terms, it’s KSD, 5 normal specials, 2 force breaks, 2 overdrives, and then 3 tag attacks per character. You then have 3 air normals and up to 4 air specials it seems.
That’s not too bad? I’d really rather have one more real attack button though
3 normals and all specials either 236 or 214 is so dumb, when is this hand-holding trend going to stop? Also only having a run is really dumb
How are they going to make the characters that rely on or have a very unique Drive attacks work anyway, since there’s only 3 attack buttons?
Well, I guess this means most of my dream team picks are out. Kokonoe, Shadow Labrys, Relius, maybe Carmine too, they just wouldn’t work with this simplified control scheme. Maybe I can get Chie/Hilda though, if I’m lucky.
Maybe go full Angel in KOF and have her chains being command normals mitigated between the 3 buttons. At least now I have more hopes for Tao now. But how Ragna does Inferno Divider and his other moves?
So, can I have hopes for Akatsuki and May too?

Well, first up, you can call assists during specials too, and even on whiff. While an assist is on screen, you can press tag to switch control to that character. I think in conjunction with the assist install thing I talked about earlier, you can do some ridiculous stuff.
The dual character control seems like the most open ended part of the game.
Every character has an anti air, but I don’t think they’re the same input. 5b or 2b though.
On normals and the gatling tree, yes (((you can reverse beat))). Gatlings look like
4x into 5/2x interchangeably, then into the other button strength, then you can go back. Looks like there’s a repeat limit of 1, and 5aa for example cant go into 2a.

Pretty much if you understand the tree you can do a hell of a lot of gats. There’s no IB/Pushblock. Persona DP/Throw os works, lol. You can also piano assist into dp and have it cover recovery, lol.
On resonance, not sure what increases the stocks but it pretty much has lv1-4 and it dictates the duration you get when your character dies. I tried using resonance like an RC, it didn’t work. You CAN act immediately after flash though, I had a normal on me during flash and DP’d it. Anyways, that’s about it for now but really juicy implications.

2 normals and a dust even. With 3 assist attacks though I suspect I’ll function as a third normal button.
That said, Dengenki did 3 buttons + assist and only quarter circles and it was fine. This seems to be heavily leaning in it for inspiration; add an assist attack and tag in exchange for making your C button less.

Probably either left out or folded into specials/ assists. You get 7 special moves on the ground after all
