For what is worth, is SEGA who’s porting Bayonetta to the PS3.
I really hope the PS3 port goes well. From what I’ve read preliminary reports on the PS3 version are depressing.
Friend of mine played the PS3 version at PAX and said it ran silky smooth.
very short vids got put up on gt

“we created the Xbox 360 version of the game first,” Fuck THAT shit. Why make a version for the weaker system first? If anything, the ps3 version should be made first, then the xbox version should be as complete as the system’s limitations allow. Xbox-to-ps3 ports failing make me think m-soft is paying people to botch the job.
I don’t think it works exactly like that. And it’s not like the PS3 outperforms the Xbox in every aspect of running a videogame.
Wouldn’t you think there’s a logical/economical reason why almost all multi-platform games are developed Xbox first?
Edit: OK so from what I’ve read it sounds like Xbox is easier and less time consuming to develop games for. If a company has the resources, it makes sense to do PS3 first then Xbox, since doing PS3 first will get the hard stuff over with. However, the company originally developing Bayonetta did the Xbox first because they don’t have as many resources as big name studios. Then they outsourced the PS3 port to Sega.
Yeah because it’s easier hardware to use and thus costs less money and man power to actually get anything out of it.
Gabe Newell: ARGH SCREW YOU PS3 WITH YOUR DAMN SYSTEM SPECS AND MULTICELL BALOONEY BLARGH eats PS3
Sega’s doing the port? lol.
Glad I have all three consoles, not touching anything Sega’s directly involved in after Sonic Team’s shenanigans.
Now that you own a PS3, you should look into Valkyria Chronicles, which was directly made by SEGA.
Cause Sonic Team is all of Sega am I rite?
Sadly, I do consider them all the same. They’ve fucked up that badly.
Though I hear VC is decent, I may play it if I find the time (and find it used).
WRONG. VC is the best tactical RPG, ever. Period. I don’t even like that genre much, and that’s one of my favorite games of all time.
Whoa, let’s not get overexcited there.
I’ll probably play it down the road, but I doubt it’ll beat FF Tactics for me. The nostalgia is just too great with that one.
FFT is a solid second place for me (probably until VC2 comes out, that is), but it’s not nearly a match. But yeah, I bring this up because VC is a SEGA game, and I’ve never liked SEGA much in the past, since I got burned by Game Gear.
Yep made by Sega WOW (Overworks half of it), creators of the original Phantasy Star series (before Sonic Team raped it into a Diablo clone), Sakura Taisen, Skies of Arcadia, Shinobi series, Streets of Rage and because of some former Team Andromeda staff, Panzer Dragoon games as well.
The other half of Sega WOW is Wow Entertainment, known for Sega’s light gun games (House of Dead, RAMBO, etc.).
weaker system? this isn’t the snes getting a shitty genesis port. how are you determining which is “stronger?”
And that’s still a bunch of BS, tho.
I mean, to just pass off Sega like that, is to also turn a blind eye to all the other good stuff they’ve done. Much less fairly recent wares, like the aforementioned VC. I’d also humbly recommend Ryu ga Gotoku (Yakuza), as well, if you can dig the “iffy” localization of the first two PS2 games, and willing to work your way through “moon language” of the two PS3 titles.
Frankly, the only really “bad” thing I could say about Sega (beyond Sonic Team), is that a lot of their best stuff, at this time, STILL is exclusive to Arcades.
C’mon, Sega…me wanty Border Break! PS3 release (+ 360, if they EVER have plans to localize this out of Japan), and I’d be good.
Any way, Bayonetta? For right now, I’m still not that worried. And even if that “region lock” thing for PS3 rumor DOES come to pass…well, my PS3 is still JP. So I’m thinking I’ll probably (still) be importing this baby next month. Will make a nice b-day present to myself!
LOL at VC being better than FFT. We’ll see.
Anyway, it is kinda odd that PG handed the PS3 version off to Sega. Maybe they don’t like developing for PS3, I know for a fact Rainbow Studios HATES using their dev kits.
It won’t be region locked. Sony won’t let you do that.
If you’re referring to the DECR-1000A or Target Manager (or ProDG and all that other stuff), times have changed. The DECR-1400A kit is much smaller and more managable (with the form factor of a regular PS3), Target Manager (and other SN tools) has been updated quite a bit, and middleware has improved for Cell programming.
