Dante never struck me as particularly badass. He’s most certainly amusing, especially in Devil May Cry 3 when he was doing some hilariously over-the-top shit in the first scene(THIS PARTY’S GETTIN’ CRAY-ZAY!), but I don’t know if badass is the first word that springs to mind when I think of Dante. If I had to come up with the epitome of badassery in video games, I’d have to say that the first names that spring to mind are Solid Snake and Auron. I hate myself for even suggesting that a Final Fantasy character is a badass, but that’s Auron for you.
This is, of course, assuming that this is only the manly division of the badass competition. If we’re going for best in show, then no one tops Samus.
I’m surprised that it hasn’t happened already.
