Bayonetta demands Dante (DMC) to make her a sandwich. Patch fix available for PS3!

Honestly, I’m the wrong person to critique an action game. I don’t like most action games because they all seem too similar to me. “Parry incoming attack, ground combo, launch, air combo, slam” is more or less all I see. The reason Onechanbara is more appealing to me is because it places more emphasis on movement than other action games do, and coming from platformers, movement has always been easier for me than timing a parry like in Ninja Gaiden.

DMC3 is still and will (probably) always be the best action game ever made.

hth

Dude, anybody and their mother can tell Bayonetta’s gonna rape that poor excuse for a game. I bet my bottom dollar.

From the looks of your other posts it doesn’t seem to be reasonable taking you seriously anyway.

Good ol’ SRK circle jerk always on duty.

Well why didn’t you just say so?

It’s up there. Some people will argue the supremacy of Ninja Gaiden Black or God of War II, though, from what I hear. My favorite action game of all time is Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. I’m not the best critic when it comes to that genre(or shooters, but that’s a story for another day).

You continue to bray like an ass, screaming “Onechanbara sucks ass LOLOLOLOLOL” in my ear without presenting any sort of reasons behind your statements. It’s essentially the equivalent to holding a megaphone to your ass after eating nothing but pinto beans and pork fried rice for a week. I’ve stated my reasoning behind my pessimism toward Bayonetta, and a lot of people could tell you(much better than I could) why Onechanbara is a very, very good action game. Suffice it to say, however, that the combo system, while not necessarily innovative, is unorthodox for these times, and the gore system is an interesting check to keep things…well, interesting. The story blows, but who’s looking for story in an action game? Certainly not me, and I do love a good yarn while I mash buttons to shitty rock music.

That’s not entirely fair. To say it’s a circle jerk would imply that there’s someone in my corner. There isn’t, at least when last I checked.

I want to like action games. I really do. It’s just that the gameplay of them(except for the balls-easy ones and Onechanbara) doesn’t particularly appeal to me, and the fact that I find them all so bloody similar doesn’t do anything to help the matter. That said, I had high hopes for Bayonetta until I heard the developer’s asinine “sexy power” shtick. Now that I know that that’s the focus of the game, I don’t have a reason to play it.

And yet here you are bitching about it nonstop?

Then don’t? Why say this when you’ve just spent 2 pages doing exactly that?

I loved Shaolin Monks! I’m not sure if the story is even canon, but I loved how it expanded on the stories and themes that were touched upon during the MK1/2 games. Like how Sub-Zero got his scar, Scorpion’s motivations in the tournament, etc. I also loved the multiplayer in that game. The gameplay was great too. All of the 4 playable characters in the story mode played differently. I like Sub Zero the most.

I’m hoping to see a sequel to that. Maybe from the perspective of the lesser known characters, like Baraka or Reptile, or maybe even Kitana.

I’m certainly pessimistic about it. I asked in my first post for someone to tell me why I shouldn’t be, and so far I’ve gotten nothing. What does that tell you?

Shaolin Monks was fucking awesome, but I don’t think it’s Devil May Cry tier. Sub-Zero was brokeshit. I played as Liu Kang most of the time. Memorized a bunch of totally whoopass infinites and shit.

It tells me that there’s not much info to go on at the moment so I don’t know what kind of responses to expect. Based on what little we’ve seen of the gameplay and the person behind the game, it’s not hard to see why people are expecting big things from this game but it’s not like anyone’s got a lot of concrete info about it.

I dunno what hth means but let’s be friends.

All I’ve heard about it is “women have the sexy power,” which is enough reason, at least on my end, to have my doubts.

OMG! LOL.

It’s so Sarah Palin in high heels teasing everyone.

This Prime guy’s just baiting, let him hate on the sidelines.

I have faith in Bayonetta and I actually find the concept of the game to be quite refreshing…much in the same way how MadWorld is. So far there’s only been what…one trailer of the game so far that showed a small bit of footage and from the screens and info that’s available currently…even without knowing exactly how the gameplay mechanics work…it feels like 8.0-8.5 material right now. That’s just going on what’s available.

I love it when kids get mad. They throw the cutest little temper tantrums.

On the real, though. There are reasons to be excited for this game and there are reasons to be unenthusiastic. I chose the latter because there are enough games about “the sexy power” as it is. If the gameplay is good enough, that won’t be a deterrent to anyone, not even me. But hey, if you guys are so sure that this’ll be a breakout masterpiece, then you’ve got nothing to worry about. I’ll be eating my words like a chicken sandwich in nothing flat, right?

onechan summary (i’ll admit i only played the 1st level and iirc some survival thing)- there’s an attack button or 2. hit them. preferably rapidly without regard for strategy or anything else. look i’d love to present a better argument but that’s all i took away from the game. i don’t see how the attack system is unorthodox when all you have to do is mash attack.

oh and her breasts are made of jello.

i just find it odd you’re hating on bayonetta which is at least trying to be a solid action game (and relying on horny otakus) with some style whereas onechan is just relying on horny otakus to mash buttons and look at shitty breasts.

sex appeal is the main draw of onechan. just look at the cover. i fail to see how your main gripe with bayonetta isn’t a fault of onechan.

Yeah, my anger totally burned through the screen, huh?

Internet Drama Queen #2684

Okami and God hand were not “run away success” and wikipedia is saying that 3 key developers left Clover before the studio was closed down.

Thing is I can’t recall any game that incorporates the sexy power thing :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, usually hate like this is supposed to be reserved until after the game comes out right?

Its a stylish action game with a female lead, other then being up front about its fan service, which nearly every game is these days anyway, has there been anything game play wise revealed to warrant the complaints?
