Never, ever, EVER quote VGChartz as actual numbers.
I’m not hating on piracy, but bayonetta is one of those games you should buy and support the company. Bayonetta is clearly the best action game ever and if not at least in a long time. I hope to get the austrailian climax edition with the gun, artbook and ost even though I already have the ost which is great by the way.
Just a bad port for ps3, so nothing much can be done about it in the end. Simple as that really.
got about 600K halos using the kilgore move on CH.2, awesome for halo farming.
…still never beat the hard “stay in the air” alfhiem. had to goto normal to do it :bluu:
Honestly, I always thought Viewtiful Joe was better than DMC1, and that DMC1 was the best out of that series: then comes Onimusha, NG, and Shinobi, GoW, and most importantly, God Hand. That said, if this isn’t better than all of them, it’s up there with the likes of the top tier ones. I do kinda wish he took some more notes from God Hand though. This game really could have used a dedicated practice mode like the arena. I wish he could have added the arena missions in this as well. A difficulty level that scales like GH would have been dope too.
Someone [please] re-link me to the post however many pages back that tell you the best items the purchase first? And the best standard B&B combo?
I know I need to save up for that air dodge, QUICK.
Hey mate,
I don’t know if this is the post you’re referring to but it was the first post that came into my mind.

Right now I have:
Air Dash (this is a must have)
Stilletto (this is a nice “instant punish” kind of move)
Burning kick (name???). This one enables both a rising up kick that you can use for juggles, as well as a dive kick move that is nice for controlling space and getting hits if you find yourself in the air above an opponent, where your sword wont’ reach them.
For Accessories, I have the one that automatically enables Witch Time if you are struck (at the cost of magic). The reason I like this is because you can still manually trigger witch time, but if you miss and get hit, you still get witch time and you make the magic right back anyway. It makes the fights against enemies that can only be hurt in witch time a LOT more easy.
Can we talk Halo Grinding a bit?
Does anyone have an optimal location to do this? How can I do this with the greatest efficiency?
i swear some of you guys are overrating this game completely… how the hell is this the best action game ever? the story is ass, the characters are lame. the gameplay isnt anything extremely special… people really must not have fucked with DMC enough to know how crazy you can get in it. people are acting like it’s elevated action games in some kind of special way.
S RANK
DMC 1
Onimusha 2
God Of War 2
Gungrave Overdose
A RANK
God Of War
Viewtiful Joe
Heavenly Sword (TOOO short. Sickening story, voice acting, etc)
B RANK
Onimusha
Onimush 3 =/= Onimusha: Dawn Of Dreams
Devil May Cry 3 =/= Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
Shinobi
C RANK
Devil May Cry 4
Viewtiful Joe 2
Genji: Dawn Of The Samurai
Bujingai: The Foesaken City (How many people played this?)
Kunoichi
Ninja Gaiden (the camera issues kills it)
D RANK
Devil May Cry 2
Wolverine Origins
Im in the middle of Bayonetta right now, so I cant rank.
In that order! Mostly, IMO.
EDIT: While Bayonetta isnt the best game of all time. It is most def better than all the titles within the last few years…ie Devil May Cry 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2. And the story is entertaining enough to keep me from skipping the cutscenes, Bayonetta is the freshest VG personality Ive played in a loooooong time, in an industry full of stereotypes, this game is boss. Stop hating.
- can get myself 3-5m a pop so far, but this dude gets up to like 10m

Man yeah, I don’t have nearly enough equipment to do either of those, still on my first playthrough.
The halo farming stuff seems like its pretty specific to exactly the right equipment and accessories…its going to be a while before I can do that.
Right. The whole point is to make money quickly to BUY that stuff. Not grind until you get it then make a surplus of halos. lol
Oh well.
I recently beat the hard version of the “stay in the air” alfheim, and while I had trouble with it at first, I can do it pretty easily now. Here’s how I did it:
On one of your weapon sets equip Kulshedra (the whip) on your hands and Scarborough Faire on your feet, and in the other weapon set equip dual Scarborough Faire. Next, activate Witch Time against the dog and jump in the air and whip the dog towards you, after which you can reset your jump. You can repeat this probably three times at the least. On your last jump reset on the dog, do an ascending After Burner Kick (Press O or B, depending on your console, immediately after jumping), jump, and then another ascending After Burner Kick. You should now be really high up in the air. At this point, switch to your second weapon set with Scarborough Faire in your hands, and simply do 360 motion + Triangle or Y repeatedly until the time limit has been reached.
Hmmm…Maybe your the problem and not us?
The farming is for a lot of post game stuff like costumes (100 K a peice) and Rodins ticket which is 10 million.
Edit: I just nabbed my first Pure Platinum Medal on Chapter 2 Angelic Metropolis. Gaze of Despair really is a wonderful Accessory.
Tip for people aiming for good medals, If your having trouble getting a good medal on an Aflheim Challenge don’t be afraid to purposefully fail it and try again. It wont count against you for getting hit or retrying so you can redo an Aflheim as many times as you like until you feel like your gonna net a good Medal.
Yeah, I agree…the point of halo farming should be to quickly unlock cool stuff…if you need to have made millions just to get the stuff to actually halo farm, then its pointless.
Its ok, I enjoy the game, I just don’t know if its going to have enough replay value for me to actually unlock all the cool shit. I want to see and use the cool shit, but I don’t necessarily want to play through the game 50x to see that stuff.
whatever, its fun for now so no complaining here.
You need 10 million just to get the option to buy it too
The problem is, there isn’t a great way to farm halos before you can do it these ways - just complete the chapters as best you can for the best results, that’s what I did
I found on the water boss (cant remember what chapter, it’s after the plane stage) that i made alot of halos for not much work (first time i did it i got like 200k i think? or something ridiculous), even on normal he’s really easy and you can avoid getting hit easily too
by the time you’ve gone back to get hearts/pearls/alfheims/lower your time score for bracelet, you’ll be making decent halos just doing that
Besides, for the second method, you need about 300k (not alot, when you can make at least 50k on most later game stages without much effort), but in return you make ~500k a pop
I’d say that’s a decent investment
Method 1 is rough because you need the bracelet of time (even costs 500k just to buy it if i remember rightly), and it’s really only for end game buy everything farming
I dunno man I after ended my first play through with over 200 K in halo’s and have easily spent over 1 mill since then.
Halo’s really aren’t that hard to earn especially if you just do a couple of the early chapters aiming for good medals a few times you’ll be swimming in Halo’s pretty easily.
LOL I guess I suck at this game.
I’m playing through on normal and I’m getting stone trophies for EVERY stage.
I think its because I die a lot, because I get hit a fucking LOT. I can’t see what the fuck is really happening half of the time.
Again, not bitching because I love this game, but I guess I just suck at it. I mean…literally I am getting a stone trophy every time and I don’t really even know why? I assume its due to me taking too much damage and dying often.
I don’t know how the FUCK you would go about getting platinum trophies for any of the stages with those fucking blue and orange angels that can only be hit in witch time.
Is this kinda normal for a first playthrough?
completely
My first play through i was getting stones for the majority of the chapters
After going back with some more techniques and more experience, i average golds at least - the first time you don’t know whats going to happen, you haven’t fought that many of x angels, you dont have techniques and accessories and are generally cautious
the game rewards speed primarily from what I’ve seen - faster you complete the verse, faster you kill the angels, even if you get hit a couple times you’ll still… depending on the verse, probably get a silver or gold at least
The auto witch time on getting hit is a must until you’re used to the game, selenes light i think?
Yeah dude Parabellum don’t worry man I had 14 stones when I finished the game the first time lol.
