Brain go play in the tournament, and use the gief. I really want to see how you do. I bet you wouldn’t do it. What do you think? If you did it, then you’ve started to understand what ive been preaching this whole time. It’s not the characters you have, but the confidence you build when playing other people who you can’t beat. Trust me on this one. If you use a scrubby character in st and you lose, you also lose all hope for the game. Your thinking is like this," if i cant beat this guy with the best player, then maybe i shouldnt play the game. Do not think like that. It’s what causes burnout and lose also the love for the games. Thas why I prefer John to play Ryu. Also because Joe plays Ryu. They get to watch each other play evenly skilled opponent, and then see what “works”, but what works for joe/john will not necessarily work for me. Understand? Say for instance John constantly starts winning, and Joe wants to know what to do different to “get in close” or dish damage/punish. Joe would look at what John is doing and mimic. Progressively you guys make each other better. That’s how I started in Marvel. When I started I was like wtf, and how do you do a dragon punch (dp for joe who needs to get use to the shorthand heres one more, ex. dp means the dragon punch with two punch buttons). Then you play on your own and learn combos you see or have invented. And then you try to setup the opponent to try out what youve learned in t-mode, you learn different times you could do such combos, make sense to everyone?
What I’m trying to do is change the mentality that you guys have. When I play you guys, it seems like you have one game with the locals, and then a different when I beast you guys. You start “mashing combos”. PANIC. I do the same thing with better players. Thas why you travel to play more people gain CONFIDENCE IN YOUR GAME. Me I have no likes for losing. But when I lose against a better player, i just think why did i lose what could i do that he was doing. and how can i EMULATE what he was doing into my own style and thinking. I do that. SOme people do flashy, but I think its all about this…
