anywayz Tekken 5 tourney is coming up. Everybody needs to be there, everyone needs the support. Halo and Forza are gettin to be annoying. Wheres the fighting games at :lame: ??? Im stuck in my room playin CvS2 with angela while the rest of you goons are waistin perfectly good time to brush up on skills :annoy: . Dang. All i get now is some bunk matches with dorks on X box live.

in my opinion jon is right, if it weren’t for him our skill would be somewhat mediocre. An idea just came to me, hows about we form sub divisions of the TS like maybe marcus is doin right now, say we all have our groups going cause in the long run our get togethers are becoming slim, so practicing against each other is no longer the only option, yet in the end of it all the alligiance of our groups is to the TS, just a thought though. As for gaming its just a matter of which way the wind shifts.

I didn’t MAKE you guys get better. What to expect at tournys is what you individually feel at tourneys. I only gave you my own opinion about what happens. I’ve only been to one solid tourney Texas Showdown, the others I attended were over 10 weeklies. I like to overanalyze everything, since im an engineer, but maybe you guys should start having weeklies. We could start apex points I think. Look into it and see what all we need. We have 8 players minimum. Also whats the work on tekken sticks or 360’s. I really think that’s what you guys need in order to elevate your fighting games skill. It makes a huge difference. You won’t find a person to complain about 360’s, but you will about everything else. Doesn’t take long to get use to either. It will also give you a chance to come up with a better design for your boxes too.

I HOPE YOU BUMS ARE PRACTICING 3S AND MVC2. I PROMISE NOT TO TOUCH THE GAMES UNTIL I GET BACK TO WACO. MY FRIEND IS KEEPING MY JOYSTICK AT HIS PLACE CUZ I HAD NO ROOM FOR IT IN MY CAR TO GO HOME. I GET BETTER BY NOT PLAYING, BUT I DO HOWEVER, WATCH A LOT OF MATCH VIDEOS. YOU GUYS REALLY NEED TO GET BETTER AT THOSE GAMES. MVC2 TAKES A LOT OF TIME AND PRCTICE TO GET GOOD. TRY IT OUT. WATCH VIDS AND TRY TO SEE WHAT THEY DO. TRY TO DO IT YOURSELF AND SEE WHEN TO DO IT. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE GAME.

seems that wat I mentioned earlier about us not playin enough is true think about it, the thought of disbannin the turtles and “maybe” regroupin has come up, as to who said this will remain nameless yet the idea has come up! further talks of such things should be discussed. As for disbannin the turtles, Once Pat leaves some people’s attendance might be awkward. I think we all have some kind of bond with one another, Pat probably being the biggest seeing how hes the most friendly guy. Hes like the glue. Everyone else is stuck to someone else somehow and thats why theres so many peeps here on sundays. Plus I think all this disbanding stuff was all started by someone that likes to talk alot, even though none of it makes sense, and just wanted to say something.

anyways back to the real issue, If we dont start playin the real games now than we might not be playin em at all. Not saying that we are ever going to stop, but theres a chance we wont be playin em like we did a month ago.

I dont really see a point to disbanding anything what im really thinking though is you all need more than just one place to go to game,Know what im saying, take some stress off the casas family household.Get in the texas league, get some motivation to play the other games, move around a little yuh

You guys aren’t ready for that league thing in Dallas. You still need to learn more basics of those games before taking it on the road. That is the most realist advice you will get from anyone.

There is someone there who is great in every game. There is one who is clearly the best at whatever game there. We don’t have that. We do not have close competition. Until we get that, and people get their own styles, then you take your game on the road.

KINGDOM is right, however, I did not xcopy anything. I learned and created my own style of teaching. But I owe a great deal of experience to KINGDOM,<3. I owe most of my mvc2 experience to Mvc2fanatic. Teaching me basic 3s and all street fighters. It was up to MYSELF to learn how and when to put it all together. I never forget my roots.

Similar but not the same

Style, I know what it is like to not have style fellas. You might think you do, but you don’t until you see someone with style play. I suggest you travel and watch 2d Tony of Dallas/FW play. Watching him play is where I learn my own style. :karate:

The only one close to having a style is Joe. The style he has is “old school street fighter style” The classic fireball and dp when you jump. That’s what is lacking in his 3s game. 3s is not ST and you have to learn the new game style. I’m not calling you out, i’m just trying to show an example.

I can show another example. cr. Roundhouse with Ken in 3s is not a move you want to throw out like I do. I’ve had problems with that in the past, but now I use it as bait as a out of range low parry bait or to make you jump. Pretty much 98% of the times you guys jump in carelessly and get hit with double dp’s. Style.

joe does have that old school style cant jump at that fool hahaha but im thinkin we have a night some time in the next few days set up for mvc 2 and a little 3rd strike but with the t5 tournament on sunday it should get priority. that said from the pr guy,… i do feel like some 3rd strike action gotta see whats up with the man Jon Casas the next Big name on the net right up there next to ummm Joe R. and unkonkable or however u spell it ,oh yeah Marcus u back in town yet

Marcus, it’s not about being “ready” …it’s about **“exposing” ** them to better competition. :pleased:
We (DFW) can show them higher-level tournament play…but we can’t just “tell” you guys…you have to “see” it for yourselves!
Marcus, how is the TS going to get better on their own??? They’ll reach a plateau. They’ll need more exposure to new material. :pleased:

I know the Waco kats are hungry to learn and improve, but they can’t improve by themselves alone. They need exposure!!! :clap:

The TS is welcomed in the DFW League and ya’ll can participate with the rest of us. Just make sure you attend! But if you have doubts, please attend the DFW Monthly coming up, and SNF! :tup:

this all sounds like music to my ears cause I seem to be a visual person myself, if I see it then I will learn more efficiently. Generals was good last night yet my early end in the game caused Jose to be left all alone, china will be victorious!

I’m not sheltering these guys. I just want them to have a solid base before running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The basics for them are a bit shaky. In the fighting games, they have no real bread and butter combos yet. They mash A LOT. To travel and mash is worthless, because they’ll never learn what they’re doing wrong, but it’s entirely up to them if they wish to go. I just don’t want them all to drive all the way there, maybe get one win (the round, not even the whole match) between all of them, and then return home and never wish to play games again. Which we both know is likely to happen. MvC2 Toan, 2d etc., phong, diet phong (thai) :clap: 3s and whoever else has stepped up. No contenders there.

I could ask them to capture their 3s footage and you can watch, but you won’t see anything worth watching, unless I play. I watch myself play all the time, im tired of that.

These guys have potential, but to make them travel and get more competition this early in the game is too harsh. They need bread and butter.

Here’s the fastest way I thought up for you guys to get better faster. Joe(SA2) and John(SA1) shoto showdown match(Ryu). Stevun Chun(SA2)a nd Brian Oro(The rocks one). Angela(SA1) and Pat(SA2) Ken masters match. Jose and phillip I dont know what you guys play. But I predict the winnings to go like this in a race to 10. Joe/John could win but the race will be close the whole way, I got Joe on top by 2 matches. Stevun might win the first 2 or 3, but Brian will end up taking the win overall because of the turtling. Angela and Pat, I got Pat on this one just because Angela throws out too many fp. dp’s at random wakeup (Not even ex). Jose and Phillip, Jose wins because he’s tha beast.

I could predict the matches because I’m 89% sure that the games havent changed much. Everyone jumps in wreckless abandon. Joe and Brian should just play the game afterwards until one is clearly better than the other. Then Stevun and John. A new masters challenge type tourney should be started. There is no need to keep track, persons who win the masters challenge know they have bragging rights.

I win all the time, but I dont brag. I try to do different things every game, so none of you learn my 3s game. Let’s see how it all plays out.

KINGDOM also post up where SNF is held for these guys. John, Joe, Stevun, make a trip to one of these and you’ll mos def be amazed at all the people in attendance, except Pepsitony :badboy: . All you guys need to go and play as much games as you can. Don’t watch many matches, PLAY! Leave those comp sticks at home too. Ask someone there to use their stick. 360’s or nothing else in the house.
