I thought they would. The built in storyline with her father makes him an easy villain for the show

I honestly dont understand punting comic book stories this badly. Alnost all of the work is already done for you, you just have to write compelling episodes which should be that hard when everything’s already done for you. You don’t have to create characters, back story, rogues gallery, nothing. It’s been done for you already, just out those characters in interesting or compelling situations.

that reminds me once again; I kinda forgot about it even though I enjoyed what I’ve seen of Black Lightning… (especially his daughters) I’m at least a whole season behind on that show now.
Last time I watched; the lovely Andy Allo was guest-starring as one of the girls the lesbo sister was hooked up with.
I think it’s a refreshing change for a batfamily member. Someone who actually use to be a criminal will make them unique among Batman crew.
