OK it may sound like I’m raging but it’s true. I start the day off being ranked 186 in the world with E. Honda and with 1700 PP. My PP went down to 1200 and BP from 5300 to 4800 and world rank to not even top 300. That’s after 2 hours play. It’s not just because of losses, but because when I win I get literally ONE (1) BP and when I lose I lose about 50 BP. How ridiculous is that?
cool story, bro
How ridiculous is it that you think you’re actually the 186th best Honda player in the world?
That’s just how it works. I remember when the game came out on PC and seeing B rank players with 3000 bp, because there weren’t nearly enough other B rank players for them to keep up their points without a ludicrous win ratio. Doesn’t really matter as long as you’re improving, it’s not like there’s a contest for getting the most BP and PP.
So stop playing people with low PP/BP and set your ranked criteria to “same skill” or “more skilled” if you actually care about points…
Or, just play the game and stop caring about your e-Rank.
I host the games I never join. Even if I beat someone with twice my BP and PP I still get only like 23 points. It’s pointless to even have BP anymore
I didn’t say best. I said 186th in world rankings for BP you idiot
So then disregard it. Seriously, they have no bearing on the game…
Theres three different gaming machines that let your play SSF4. You may be the 186th best on your console, but there are hundreds higher ranked than you are.
Assuming he already knows that.
It still doesn’t matter. BP is fun until you get to B, at which point you should be completely concerned with improving/ playing for fun rather than squashing noobs.
OK fine I meant on Xbox LIVE on Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. Are you satisfied yet???
I say get rid of PP and keep BP. Neither is a true gauge of player ability, Neither matter BUT having two is confusing to new players and pointless.
there is also little to no sense of progression when it comes to PP… at least with BP you have an idea of how you compare with your character within rankings on your console, and it can be addictive trying to get to each milestone (top 200, 100, 50 ect ect).
Thanks for the advice. I just wish Capcom would fix it- at least so that I can set people who are C+ rank or above to join my game, for example, rather than getting 1 BP for winning but losing a lot more when someone twice my skill beats me.
BP is not a measure of skill, if you didn’t get the hint already.
Thread title also describes the use of said e-peen points.
Just have fun with the game and play endless with good players you find online and on SRK.
how else am i gonna pre judge people before we play?
seriously tho, i actually would like an option to hide all of that from my view. like the game could track it, but not put it on the screen at all. i dont want to know how many points i won or lost
Go catch bigger fish. If you beat #10 in the world you’ll recover those points easily enough. The system works, it just isn’t made to please you or reward grinding like an RPG.
Do many of the people who are high on the leader boards post on this forum? Are they known players? I’ve never actually looked at the leader boards.
They should show the winning pourcentage online, just like in the arcades.
some do, some dont
I find that PP atleast gives you a hint of your opponents skill level, assuming they play ranked. Most tournament players should manage to get to around 4000 PP.
