i know its wally and dick. wally did act like bart as a kid. just not super a.d.d but he was def a.d.d ridden…and sex overdrived.
tim is crazy. i think we all know that. you dont figure out every superhero’s name at like 13 and not be a lil crazy. i mean even lex couldnt do that shit haha. but i have a feeling he did it after bruce adopted him and maybe around the time he became the ceo of bruce’s companies.
nah tim never wanted to be like bruce…he wanted to be better than bruce. he has constantly time and time again told bruce im not gonna be you, so stop trying to make me you.
a big reason dick was his own man was his exodus transititon from robin into nightwing. tim only recently had his, thats why he is red robin now. nigga is official g status…ra called him “detective”. that right there if official.
I think I’m one of the few who actually liked the original comic story, and this was better than that. They got rid of the reality wall punching thing that superboy prime did, and went with something more realistic.
I truly feel that the emotional undertones in this story are INCREDIBLE, and add a strong amount of nuance to Batman. The exchange between the Hood and Batman really cements that, and I feel adds more depth to not only Batman, but to how broken Jason was. I feel like that’s the strongest part of this story, and adds emotional weight to Batman’s greatest failure, and answers the question as to why he hasn’t just started offing mother fuckers.
Really enjoyed it, overall. I was actually pretty happy with the Joker, but it still doesn’t top Hamill’s Batman Beyond Joker. That was a really sadistic version of the Joker that took things waaaaaay too far. But DiMaggio’s was pretty damn good. He was the one I felt wouldn’t own the roll, but he did. And I like Bruce Greenwood, but Conroy has a way to show some real emotional depth with his voice. He’s always been Batman to me, and always will be. If anybody doesn’t think that Conroy could still pull it off are nuts. I STILL get chills when I hear him proclaim “I am vengence, I am the night” from this clip
Conroy forever.
It’s amazing to me that DC has continued to kick the ever living shit out of Marvel on the animated front.
that’s cuz Marvel has no problem letting people change key elements of stories (ie switching Silver Surfer for Beta Ray Bill in Planet Hulk), and handing their franchises out around the table, thus making it hard for certain characters to appear in other animated features. At least Warner Bros is smart enough to keep all their toys in one toy chest.
Hell yeah. If Ra’s calls you “detective”, you freakin’ earned batman-level status. He’s from a time when people didn’t just hand out titles cuz somebody dabbled in a certain field.
I saw this movie the other day, and I must say, this was the darkest animated Batman I’ve seen to date. They obviously tried to steer away from the noir of TAS–some may like it, some may not. I found myself indifferent to it, though. What really stood in the back of my mind was that was NEVER any daytime animation, at least, in Gotham City, anyway. I think I remember there being a sunset backdrop when Batman/Bruce was going up against Ra’s and his daughter. So what happened with Kevin Conroy in this one? Even though it was Mark Hamill, I still thought the VA did an ok Joker.
awesome movie. i liked the bittersweet ending with the memory clip . was so good. The fight scenes were awesome as well. Just hope there is another directed byh bruce timm. Is he going to be on board the supes /batman one coming up? and they REALLY need to do an animated version of Tower of Babel.
Bruce actually literally adopted Tim. Pretty sure he never actually legally adopted Dick. Therefore, the name change.
…Wait, so it’s official that Dick and Wally will be Robin and Kid Flash in Young Justice? WEEEEAAAAAK. Especially with Conner on the team. That shit doesn’t work.
Watching Superman/Batman Apocalypse. Supes looks like a woman kinda He’s got pursy lips and guyliner. Good movie so far. Hot damn at the Supergirl shopping scene though.
Oh ok. In the last fight he unleashes a flurry of punches and it just looks like a video of One Piece I saw where the dude looks like he’s got like 12 arms punching at the same time.
