Naw the Marvel hype machine is to strong for a crappy DC movie to kill the hype train.
Not in the slightest, not when Marvel are making a shit tonne of money. Might be the end of Nolanized comic book movies though, unless they can convince Nolan to come back as a director or a producer.
I hope this shit kills off the New 52 at least.
That can’t come fast enough
It won’t kill of comic book movies but it will ruin DC films. Although to be honest that might have already happened wirh dark knight rises and man of steel.
Why did Bane have to sound like Sean Connery doing a bad impersonation of Sean Connery? I know it’s “childish” to not be over that even years later, but still…
The funny thing about the Nolan films is that in spite of attempting this ultra realistic hyper serious tone…the voices of batman and bane are unintentionally more comedic and silly then any of the comic elements Nolan and company hated.
I think it will be more interesting to find out why he spoke that way than we realize
The redub was an easy call to be honest, as a native speaker I dont even understand wtf Hardy was babbling about half the time. The only bad thing about Bane in that movie was that he was Bane and not just some random made up assassin character which would lessen the overall hate.
all they had to do is let him have Venom somehow. Not some stupid gas mask that prevents pain. But that still wouldn’t have saved the rest of that trainwreck.
The gas mask never made sense to me. How is that more realistic then having super steroids injected straight into his head?
Each company should just stick to their strengths: DC = animated, Marvel = live action. It just works better that way.
In TDKR, I immediately thought Bane sounded like Liam Neeson. Like, a lot.
He didn’t sound like Bane, though.
The potential for a REALLY good Superman movie is there. It’s WB decisions that keep fucking things up:
Making silly almost spoof movies, having Lex Luthor be the Villain all the time, ignoring the MAD amounts of other characters (BRAINIAC) available as bad guys, focusing on side characters for no useful reason (Jimmy Olsen should exist only in one scene, wishing Superman would arrive to give him a boner), plot holes big enough to roll my fat concubines through, an unwillingness to show a shared universe, a now-rushed attempt to clone what Marvel has spent ten movies and years and BILLIONS on, casting decisions that would make the blind weep,
DC is making its own movies like Fox makes Marvel movies, with the sad fact that they OWN the IP’s.
I truly think this will end bad enough that WB (who was on the brink of bankruptcy not too long ago) will just sell off DC, and Disney will just snatch it up
Yeah, how’s DC’s animated ventures going right now? Oh right, CN’s screwing them every two seconds just like how Marvel got did in when they were actually putting on good quality. Unfortunately now Marvel has job security with less quality ventures.
Spectacular Spider-Man, Avengers: EMH, Green Lantern, and Young motherfucking Justice, NEVER FORGET, DAMMIT.
FUCK JEPH LOEB.
Yeah, I blame his ass for DC animation’s woes too
As bad as Loeb is…he was responsible for a grand total of ONE of those four going down.

As bad as Loeb is…he was responsible for a grand total of ONE of those four going down.
I know. I just like shitting on Loeb.
Lord knows he deserves it.
It’s so strange how DC understands to represent its characters and mythos but only in a animated capacity…I’ll never get why that quality is never translated to film.
It just has to do with their investment philosophies things like gaming animated films and comics are niche and they make the decisions they need to to fill that need and still generate demand. Movies are another beast entirely.
