You can definitely argue he did not display many of the qualities that Bruce Wayne/Batman (and I agree) has but the general public has pretty much accepted him as the most iconic portrayal of the character.

Just wait til more news come out. We tend to over think everything off teasers all the time. then we are either blown away, or disappointed. I haven’t seen Man of Steel yet but I believe its a good movie. Heard it was too long tho.

His batman was laughably bad and forced to the point that it was comedically over the top. Might have been more in his voice but damn he sounded fucking stupid as batman…also he sucked as a detective and seemed more like some generic crime drama hero then batman.

Bale was alright, but not gonna lie, he sounded ridiculous with his “Batman voice.” I’m a Batman fanatic, but I remember audibly laughing the first time I heard it
My brother asked me if that’s his real voice the first time he heard it…couldn’t actually believe they would be serious with that sound.
I laughed hard when he fought bane…2 guys with the most fucking stupid sounding voices talking in gibberish to each other.

Quite frankly, they don’t even have to show Batman outside of costume. Everybody already knows his origin, just have him do typical Batman type shit and fans will get over it quick. Doesn’t matter who’s behind the mask.
Hell, Bale was never even the best part of the Nolan films, the villains carried that load.
Why can’t Bale be batman again? Bale and Cavill would be great in a Justice League movie…

Bale stated many times that he isn’t interested in reprising the role after a third film.

Bale is the best Batman by default, because he’s the only actor who actually bothered to act when he was in the costume.
Maybe if Keaton and Kilmer spoke up instead of flatly whispering their lines, they’d have funny voices too.
EDIT:
For clarification, acting is more than just saying the lines. Bale has an approach to Batman. He changes the way he moves, his facial expressions, his whole demeanor. He makes Batman a distinctive character. I can’t evaluate the physical acting of Kilmer and Keaton while in costume, since they’re shambling under 100 pounds of latex and half the time it isn’t even them in the suit anyway.
Clooney gets a by; his Batman has more to do with Adam West than Christian Bale anyway.
Keaton was damn good as Batman dude. He could be intimidating while smiling and he just looked so awesome as Batman. Those eyes. Bale is good but that fucking voice undoes a lot of it.
Keaton was a good Bruce. He looks like a guy with some fucking problems. But his Batman was a moving statue.
I personally felt keaton nailed batman a lot more then bale. He did the brooding "gothic"approach and for the most part…whatever performance bale did have as batman is overcome by the stupidity of his voice which is parody bad.
In under 1 minute keaton managed to be more batman then bale across 3 movies.
Probably because he couldn’t move around in the suit too much. He couldn’t turn his head, he couldn’t hear anything, and the suit was close to 200 LBS.
Like in Alien, they wanted to see the creature do shit like running on the walls and being incredibly nimble but once they got into making the suit they had to scale it down.
