Batman/Superman movie announced for 2016

I just watched the Ultimate Edition (thank you Amazon for giving me the digital version for free again, like you did with Force Awakens) and it was incredible. Absolutely amazing movie.

These are real characters, with depth and inner conflict. I love the darkness of the DC universe, the grit, the harshness of reality… the sacrifice. I love the complexity of Lex, his little puns.

The extra scenes really do add some more context to the plot, and it helps with character development and explains everyone’s motives much better than the theatrical release does.
And even though I knew it was going to happen, I still teared up a little at the end when Superman sacrifices himself for humanity.

An interesting thing I read from an article published at the time of release is that apparently a lot of reviewers went in with an agenda against Snyder, and took the opportunity to pile on him. I find it interesting that the consensus from the first general audiencs to see the film during the midnight release was overwhelming positive. Then the next day the critics got to sink their teeth in and created a sensation of negative reviews. Instead of talking about what the movie does right, they criticized the flaws and allowed that to ultimately weigh the review in that direction.

Oh well, I think the movie is awesome and can’t wait for the next installment.

I can’t tell if you’re trolling like Jimmy, or if you genuinely believe this movie universe is a good use of these characters, but as someone who actually really likes Superman, I can not, will not, and shall not ever recognize Snyder’s version of these characters as good depictions.

Yes, this “Ultimate” edition clears up a lot of the plot holes from the theatrical release-- We see that Superman is actually being set up for the shit in Africa by Lex, Clark does some actual investigative reporting, the Senate bomb being missed by Supes is actually explained, and Batman and Supes’ conflict makes a bit more sense, but none of that shit fixes my issues with Superman and Batman going from pillars of morality and justice to cold-blooded, hypocritical murderers, and Snyder’s incessant need to hit people over the head with Christ imagery.

Eisenberg is still a shitty Luthor, Jr. or not, the Justice League tie-ins are still hamfisted into the plot, and we have to see Affleck’s bare ass for no good goddamn reason.

Goes from complete shit to just shitty, and does nothing to fix the characterization issues or actually tackle the themes and plots Man of Steel raised.

Still a bad Superman and Batman movie, and a bad start to a DC Cinematic Universe.

Fuck Zack Snyder.

Nope. Loved it.

Still the worst comic book movie of the year.

So far…

#1- Deadpool
#2- Civil War
#3- X-Men Apocalypse
.
.
.
#4- Batman V Superman: Dawn of catching up with Marvel.

Watchmen was still awesome. Don’t care what anyone says. The man can make a good movie.

remembers suckerpunch

Nevermind. fuck Synder.

Don’t care to watch the extended cut, as I don’t think it’ll fix most of the problems the movie had. Still, I was wondering: how does it explain how Superman missed the bomb?

All I want to know from the extend cut is if Mercy stays dead. If so that’s another good character wasted and another fuck you Snyder can add to his cap.

The chair bomb was lined with lead.

You think so or you know so?

It’s talked about in the movie, in the context they were wondering why the blast field was suppressed. Why would Lex want to nerf his own bomb? Lois puts it together that it wasn’t for suppression, rather to conceal it from Superman.

I haven’t seen the movie but I read about the Senate bombing scene. I know a lot of heroes have a habit of blaming themselves for shit they couldn’t stop but why would Superman be concerned with someone blowing up a room he’s going to be in because…reasons? Does he scan EVERY room he enters for danger? That seems like something Bats would do.

Spider-Man would have been able to know there was a bomb there.

When you have super-senses, you really shouldn’t be getting caught off guard by much of anything.

No he would have said, “My spider-sense” is tingling…" Then after everyone but him died he would have gone to cry on Uncle Ben’s grave.

See, that would make sense if writers didn’t always ALWAYS make Supes too stupid to do that in order to make things “fair”. In a fight, no one without enough speed should even touch Superman. But that can’t happen because it wouldn’t be fair. Every time Superman fights? He throws punches like he’s fighting in a schoolyard. No mixups. No combos. Nothing. Just hard as shit brute force punches. Superman is always dumbed down in order to make fights “fair”. And it really hurts him as a character. Frankly, I’m tired of seeing Stupid Superman. It’s disgusting.

I remember in “Man of Steel” when Zod started to get his powers how he had sensory overload and had to learn to focus from getting overwhelmed. If Supes constantly has to do that then when does he decide when and when not to do so? Again why would he be scanning the room for danger? It was a senate hearing for crying out loud.

I agree. The best Superman stories usually have him dealing with shit he can’t punch away, or someone being smart or fast enough to overwhelm his super-senses and reaction time, like the time the Joker came to Metropolis and had him running all over Metropolis looking for a bomb hidden in one of several dozen lead-lined containers he placed near schools and hospitals.

The real catch was there was no bomb, and the Joker just wanted to keep him busy while he got away with his real plan.

Wait a minute. I must have missed something either in MOS or this. How does Lex even know one of Superman’s weaknesses is lead?

It’ll be explained in the expanded expanded edition?

…yeah, now I’m really not going to pay heed to the extended edition. I’m feeling like this will be me the whole movie:

If this was anyone but Superman, i’d say thats not fair. Spider-sense’s legit broken yo.

Peter would have known before he even stepped into the room.
