This is false, and i even praised your post pages ago. Here allow me to repost it
I literally praised you for having a thought out and adult response to the movie, and now youre here telling me that i cant handle when people dont like what i like. This is why i shit on this thread, and those in it going crazy like conservative republicans having to share a dinner table with muslims. You guys are irrationally blinded by hate, and none of us calm people can even understand your reasoning, because some of you havent said why. Then when i question your reasoning, everyone gets 20 times more upset at me, than i was at them. lol
Nah, we’re just all nerds raging as usual, but like the man of steel thread, i have to check some of the same people again. Many of whom are now saying they liked man of steel, when that thread was like 70 percent hate, and filled with stupid hate. Niggas was just filling in their own blanks in that thread.
You guys for some reason are so caught up in your mob mentality, that you dont even realize that im not arguing with you to argue. Most of you have literally not stated much of anything worth a pile of shit filled with corn, as to why you didnt like the movie. Those who have, ive respected their opinion.
News flash. Even those of us who liked the movie, dont think its perfect, but it has far less flaws than some of you are pretending it has. It has fairly normal flaws of a comic book movie.
Niggas so angry, they didnt even enjoy the terminator 2 easter egg for cyborg. Like, i have no idea why dc movies trigger you guys so much. I guess its confusing to me, because outside of @RockBogart , no one here talks about comics on a regular. Then like clockwork, when DC drops a movie, here comes everyone. lol.
Like i said over 10 pages ago. Tell me your favorite comic book movie, and i bet i can pick it apart to shreds with ease. These arent masterpieces. Dont let a few one liners, and a bunch of men you look up to like some child who never had a father, confuse you with the reality of what it is that youre watching(marvel fans).
Yea dude I’m busting your balls because you like to go “nothing here bothers me” but say one thing about you and you make these kinds of posts. It’s funny.
Relax.
Sure you can pick our favorite comic book movies apart, the difference between us and you is that we don’t fucking care lol. Best part is you praised my post and I haven’t even seen the movie
I was literally deliriously ill, spent five days in bed recovering, and had trouble figuring out how to pour myself a glass of water. You’ll pardon me if I didn’t want to engage in a line item discussion during that time. I thought about going back but – you seem to really firmly have your mind made up so more power to you.
I could’ve lobbed you an easy one with History of Violence but the movie is only about the first half of the book and they still punted the hell out of that.
No i dont firmly have my mind made up. Like i said earlier. Im fine with people not liking the movie, but since when has having a shit opinion okay? The whole point of why we rage against the dumb people in this country, is because they have completely ridiculous and shit opinions on things.
I’ve seen the movie twice. Ive criticized it myself. But this thread is currently all about how if you dont hate the movie, youre fucking crazy, and judging from the opinions i have read here, they dont have much to back up their claims.
**Whats disturbing is that you guys think there is no discussion to be had. That here was little to nothing good, and everything has been “hamfisted”, and is just generally terribile. That this is some early 2000s elektra level of a terrible movie. Its no shocker, just like in the video i posted above, that the people who hate this movie, have little to say to remotely even back up that claim. **
But i’ll tell you what was bad in the movie right now…
Nobody saying the MCU movies are masterpieces, but most of the issues of their movies can be easily overlooked because characterization is really fucking strong. We know who those characters are, we know there is respect from where they came from even if they gotta switch some stuff up to fit their universe. Add in perfectly adequate plots and you can see why people are willing to give them a pass for some stuff.
DC is failing, and people are picking it apart, because the basics of storytelling are missing, heavy tone with no levity to counterbalance alongside convoluted plots and characterization that seems to actively WANT to stay as far away from the iconic version of those characters while still trying to use “cuz comics!!1!” as an excuse.
Niggas are writing essays to justify basic character and story beats in this turd. When it reaches this point, just accept WB fucked up and move on.
Why the hell was everyone still in the building in the intro part. Bruce going towards trouble is understandable, even if irrational. Batman as a character is irrational. I just think, it seemed weird that 6 blocks away, this thing is destroying the city, and people are sitting their like herp derp. I wouldve preferred that they were there because bruce built the building to withstand even a plane flying into that shit, and then realized, no, its safer for you out of the building. GET OUT NOW!
We needed bruce to put up more of a blockade to stopping superman from talking. It just kinda seemed like superman got pissed, and was ready to end bruce before using his words more.
Wonderwoman shouldnt have been waiting until bruce saw her, to acknowledge she stole the drive. That was stupid, and was just something to push the plot along. It wouldve been better if he caught the tail end of her walking away, and in his typical batman suspicion of everyone, he chased her, she looked back at him, knowing she just got em, and drove the fuck off.
I enjoyed this a lot, but it was pretty uncreative to have superman just ram that guy through 2 walls in the beginning when he was holding lois hostage. I wouldve enjoyed a super speed moment, and an im way stronger than you moment from superman. He just kinda murked that guy. I get it though, because lois is the love of his life. Hes fucking angry, but like, damn. lol
A better explanation to the creation of doomsday. It did feel a lot less epic than it couldve been. It definitely seems last minute, but it wasnt, and doomsday was going to always be in the movie. So do a greater job at making that creation more important to the plot. Hes gone as quick as he is dead in the comics, but for a movie you gotta give me just a little more.
Lois lane has zero purpose. She has always had zero purpose, but being supermans weakness, but jesus christ she had zero purpose now. Her throwing the spear away into the water makes sense as a temporary reaction, but it was pretty shitty writing. It was clearly there to only give her purpose. Batman would NEVER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE leave behind a kryptonite spear. Even if he became friends with superman again. He just wouldnt kill him, and save it for a different rainy day.
I respect that. Its weird though that people are dc critics now, and were just fine with the nolan batmans. It wasnt until the third one did people start being like ehhhh, wtf.
DC’s main cast are generally a darker group of people though. The avengers is much easier to write as light bright than the jla. But touche, i get your point.
Nolans first two Batman movies are pretty good over all. They have flaws of course, but taken as a whole, they are good movies. They have good writing, well done characterization, the plot flows smoothly and methodically without the need to shoe horn and force it’s forward momentum, characters come off as people instead of puppets reciting exposition.
Most people didn’t have a problem with Nolans movies until the third one because there wasn’t much terribly wrong with them until the third one, which rightfully got it’s due thrashing.
BvS sounds like more like Rises and less like Begins/Dark Knight.
Second batman was straight for sure, but when your enemies make the movie, rather than you do, and more people make fun of nolan batman than have it be popular in pop culture. Maybe its not that great. First one just gets a pass because it was the early years in general, and at the time it seemed dope, but really we couldve easily gotten a way better batman movie, and inevitable trilogy. The third nolan film is just not worth anyones time. Saw it twice, wish i hadnt.
Like, i can rewatch BvS for a long time just for the batman scenes alone. We havent seen that batman ever, and finally we’re getting it. Just for the choreography alone. lol.
Personally, i still want a batman reboot. We wont get it in the theater anytime soon, but maybe they can, can gotham, and start a batman tv series sometime in the next 2 years, with non shitty choreography like arrow.
I actually think Begins is a much much better movie then Dark Knight was. Dark Knight has a lot more sloppy film making in it that really takes me out the movie. Everything in the tunnel is garbage, from the framing and filming of the Batmobile making it’s grand reappearance, to the way they film the truck being rammed into the water, it’s all terrible, the penthouse fight is fucking awful, and the last act of the film is really rushed. Begins had a stronger and more realized theme as well, it’s filming style fits the theme and action much better then it did in the sequel, and The Narrows has more personality and character then any location shot for Dark Knight by miles.
People don’t make fun of Nolan Batman, they make fun of Bale Batman Voice. His Batman was on point, his voice was just kinda ehhh.
Ive heard that before. Its been a while since ive watched it. Maybe i should rewatch it tonight. I dont recall hating it, but i also havent seen it since like 2008 on a rewatch. lol
Yea Knight def had a stronger villain then Begins did, tho I still liked it’s version of Ra’s and Scarecrow quite a bit.
When you do, watch Dark Knight afterwards and pay attention to framing and composition. I think it’s kinda crap in Knight. The Tunnel scene is where it stands out the most. When the Batmobile shows up in that scene the way it’s filmed and framed makes it look like he’s in the same lane as Joker and Joker is watching him come right at him, but then it turns out their not in the same lane at all. It’s so jarring. Same with the truck ramming, trucks going one direction visually then when it gets popped out of the wall and into the water it’s suddenly going to opposite direction visually. It’s fucking weird.
For a lot of people this wasn’t a big deal and I’ve had people tell me I’m being too picky, but visual cohesion is really important in film making imo, and these are extremely glaring flaws. It’s stuff people either don’t notice for some reason, or completely overlook/ignore and why I find it strange that people say Dark Knight is a better movie then the first one, when what it really does better then the first one is have a strong compelling villain. Characterization goes a really long way, a lot of why people are dumping on BvS is the characterization is extremely shoddy. Can’t get invested in these characters, so now they are looking for other stuff to like and seeing all the other flawed shit they’d normally over look.
I liked watching TDK Rises on the theater, but is one of those movies that once you start thinking about it, the more you find its flaws.
I blame its less stellar quality compared to the 1st 2 to the fact that Nolan didn’t wrote it, limmiting himself to only produce it.
I still like Rises, but it’s def the worst of the three, and if you do think on it you notice stuff thats kinda dumb.
Still better then any Batman story involving Hush. I left DKR like “Well kinda disappointing but not too bad” where as when I finished Hush I was legit pissed.
