The movie made $51.3 million last weekend. 69% drop. The drop is on par with Fan4stic. It hasn’t outgross heavy hitters like the Avengers, Dark Knight Rises and Iron Man 3 so all is well.
The fact this movie dropped hard with no competition should worry WB a bit. Imagine if this went up against Civil War like it was supposed to.
Movie got another free weekend before the Jungle Book hits. It will be hard to rebound after that.
It should hit its mark at some point, but I hope this shook DC enough to switch up their gameplan. If a movie with no competition where BATMAN FIGHTS SUPERMAN can’t hit its mark right out the gate thanks to word of mouth, something’s just wrong.
