The thing that bothers me about the plot is that it’s really roundabout and confusing for no reason. I mean batman and superman didn’t even have to fight. If the film had just maintained the narrative of the first hour being about the principles and ideals behind superman what it means to be a hero, the second half could have just simply been superman and batman taking down lex together without any need for a fight.
Yeah which would have been awesome. I mean batman was nailed perfectly in this movie and I think superman working cooperatively with him would have given him the personality and shine he needed.
Also yeah the fact that his awnser to this question is a explosion is just kind of strange.
Snyders signature up close camera that’s used for soap operas
Superman being jobbed to the universe
New scene every 40 seconds like Phantom Menace
The fucken email scene. The underwater part was cringe as fuck.
The fucken “LOIS IS THE KEY” scene
Pumping 5 storylines into one movie and the pacing suffers like a TV movie
All the needless deaths
Eisenberg
The entire ship scene. Plot holes everywhere. “You look like a human. But you got the kryptonian touch. Wanna take command and know everything?” “Sure!”
End scene looked like it was gonna end 5 times and they kept going back to it.
First 90 minutes:
last 40 or so minutes: :woot:
Finale: That was it? :xeye: Well I guess I’ll stick to the DC/WB shows and animated movies from here on out. Hopeful for the solo WW movie though
@Preppy lmao that hadn’t even clicked until you said it, why the hell is Metropolis and Gotham neighbouring cities?? How does Batman even have a job if Superman is literally half a second away.
Also lol at the US military being so trigger happy with nukes :looney:
Haha I actually really dug this, so refreshing to see him actually be useful not just giving lectures and sobbing in the shadows.
Status: Alfred is currently AFK
Alfred is that team mate who leaves you waiting in the lobby for half hour whilst he talks to his dealer.
All the Justice League stuff should have been left as a post credits bonus.
Question for everyone… if there was a fan edit how you do it? What bits would you move around and which bits would you scrap entirely?
That colour corrected version of the trailer looks so much better.
They haven’t fully explained it yet. But its gonna end up being flash from a multiverse world where Darkseid took over. Hes warning bats on a diff earth.
Did you like Age of Ultron? That’s the equivalent of having Lex being front and center for the entire movie, then spending a large section of the movie on a farm stuck with (trigger warning) Martha and Lois. shudder
Because he’s from the future. I thought that part was obvious… What I had to do later was look it up and find out hes from a multiverse so sounds like their amping him up a bit… Multiverse time travel to prevent justice lords or every version of an apocalyptic justice league.
Holy shat batman! Just done watching it coz my mom wanted to so I dragged dad and my gf. Luckily we just came from church to prevent me from shouting profanities in my head. Glad I wore my batman shirt. Gave it a 6/10 because of the action and batfleck.
Really surprised by this batman. Was really good.
I laughed so hard at ding ding and just a feeling.
This is the problem. A lot of this movie only makes a lick of sense if you have comic book background. When you are establishing a new universe, heck, it seems to be even a new multiverse, shit like that just shouldn’t happen.
The movie has to be able to stand on it’s own, or at worst, needs to rely on the previous installments of the series.
That first dream sequence happens after the first time batman is revealed
No other dream sequence happens
Cut down Lex scenes - maybe keep the initial post-basketball meeting, but the rest would require heavy editing
The most important for me might be:
Superman gets a lot less screentime, and I know he already has relatively little. I’m thinking almost no Clark Kent, I don’t need to see him skimping on his job. The initial saving Lois is important so that stays in, but most of the other stuff doesn’t.
Like for instance, in the courtroom scene onwards:
[details=Spoiler]He is seen above, he flies down, walks in, courtroom blows up and from our point of view he sort of disappears. Which he does already, sure, but I mean we skip the close up emo shot.
When we see him, we see him like an observer - from a distance, we barely get close. Especially the shot of him hovering above the flood victims taking his time, I think that would work here.
Distance him, so that when MARTHAAAA eventually comes up, Batman will be in shock that Supes has mom just like him…and like everyone else does. Thus the framing of that doesn’t come across as WE BOTH HAVE THE SAME MOM NAMES but rather more Batman reflecting that Supes also has important people in his life, and has a mom, etc - reducing him from the abstracted godhood view earlier.
It might also make the I failed him in death or whatever that line was from Bats to make sense too.
You can also squeeze in some of the Lois / Kent interactions after the death, maybe, as reminiscing moments, or to reveal that he never cared about public opinion, hence his possibly construed as aloof nature.
And after the coffin lifts up a bit, Justice League teasers happen during credits.
And then, during post credits…I might put the Superman hiking up the mountain scene. [/details]
So assuming it works out how I remember it, the movie is less an ensemble movie becomes even more Batman centric and the pivotal moment is when the main character empathises with someone that he refused to empathise with.
I 100% agree. It coulda hinted clues without the vision/warning. While also leaving those wonder woman clips of her watching the video and batman saying we need to form the justice league as after credits stuff. It’s sad you gotta have a PhD in comics to get alot of the shit in this movie and understand what their trying to do. This is why it’s so badly panned.
The last 15-20 min all just felt like after credits scenes they decided to stick in the movie.
