I’ll give you 2 and 3. Those we knew from months ago.
1 THO. Been reading some reviews and for someone doing a professional job actually typing “could have used more jokes”… really nigga? This is now a req for movies? Jokes? Feel like we are going back to 60s, “holy reviewer Batman! We need a one liner to save this movie!”
I also don’t get why it had to be set up as VS movie… makes no goddamn sense. Check any of the classic crossover comics, is always something else where they tag together and solve a mistery/crime. They could have gone: Bats in town trying to spy on Supes finds out Luthor has been doing the same, they have an argument sorta on “hero ethics”, Bats warn supes Luthor is up to something, Luthor creates Metallo, Supes and Bats team up to beat him and destroy/retrieve kryptonite. BAM. Gimme an Oscar. AND THEN as an after credits scene, they could have shown Diana meeting with Bruce Wayne. Insta hype for WW movie (a la MCU)
Yes, but as for this movie we could have had a more stable Superman… whatever, I’m bullshitting, haven’t watched the movie so I cannot say it for sure.
Not saying jokes. Simply more fun, more wonder, more entertainment. People say the movie is extremely grim and serious, that in the end it becomes a bore and makes you don’t want to see more.
And unlike Marvel, where we’re already familiar with the movie incarnation of the characters, if these guys have zero charisma, it becomes hard to give a crap about whatever is happening to a character if the guy who is nothing but grim and dark as hell… For what I’ve read, both Batman and Superman are presented as remorseless psychos that kill criminals very often. Not good…
They wanted to do “Batman vs Superman” instead of “Batman/Superman” in order to:
1.- Have Snyder to accomplish his wet dream and having his “badass grim and gritty” Batman punching the “lame Superman” straight from The Dark Knight Returns. Batman punching Superman! Insta-12-years-old-teenager-boner.
2.- Want to get exposure because of the famous The Dark Knight Returns.
3.- Create controversy and hype.
4.- It has to be dark, DARK, superheroes fighting, more angst, more drama, more violence, more DARK! That’s what people want to see.
I figure there will be at least a couple cool moments in the movie. I didn’t especially like MoS but some of the fight scenes were good. I enjoyed how MoS handled super speed, like how Zods girlfriend who’s name I don’t remember looked when she was zipping around some airplane fucking dudes up. It looked really cool.
[details=Spoiler] Never reviewed a movie so I’ll just tell you some things about the popular complaints. Felt like MOS where the first part might be boring for some, but don’t sleep or you’ll miss one of the best moment in the movie.
Lex is like a really smart Ledger’s Joker, I’m not really ok with this take but he’s a good character and contributed a lot to the “Godly feeling” (This movie shows how ridiculous Superman is compared to humans. Stupid thing to say but that’s how I felt at the end) this movie have. I liked him as a character but not as Lex.
Wonder Woman was good, but I admit I was more focused on that sexy look. The one she gave to the camera while being on the flo… Ok I stop.
Don’t worry about the movie being overcrowded, it’s not. We get a lot of Clark, Bruce, Lois and Lex which is normal. Some (really not that much) Diana but none of the bullshit the last spoiler told. I’d like to tell you more about how I felt about all that but it might get spoilish.
Yes it’s dark, I dont see how else you can tell this story though. Even with all that there were some jokes from Alfred (he was great!) and others. I laughed at how they carefully kept saying that they fight at safe places with no innocents around lol.
I’d like to talk about more things I didn’t like/could’ve been done better but that’s spoilers so I’ll wait.
Highlight of the movie is Batfleck, his scenes were the bests. The score was unreal too, with some of MOS’s best.

I can’t really tell if it’s a good movie without seeing it again since it was long but I enjoyed it. My friends did too and they’re not into comics so they didn’t catch one of the best part sadly.

I know I will. I used the “never did this before AND need to see it again” thing but ya’ll can hate as much as you want once you see it. There’s dumb things in the movie but let’s talk about it once you’ve seen it and not using dumb reviews or spoilers. I’m not in this movie’s defense force but there’s no point talking about it if I’m the only one who saw it.

Everybody knows whose death will cause the knightmares and there’s a great moment about it in the movie. Martha almost dies and he doesn’t even save her himself lol. There’s no helmet in true football.

Aaaaaand it’s down to 33% on Rotten Tomatoes right now. That sucks. I thought Man of Steel started off pretty well but then went off the rails with the Ultra-Violence. I’m still going opening night tomorrow with friends, but – at least I’ll know going in to be ready to cringe. =P
I’m hoping it’s not nearly as soulless and grim-looking as Man of Steel.
