Fucking Doomsday looks like a ninja turtle before the CGI is done.
Also why Doomsday? There are tons of power house characters they could of used that are more interesting. Doomsday should have been saved until later for their own version of the Death of Superman. Should have just used Parasite, or Mongul. Looks like Parademons are flying around, so a Mongul working for Darkseid angle could easily work here.
Andy Samberg is the real deal Lex.
Just because he’s not the real Lex it doesn’t make it any better. Jesse’s awful for these kind of roles. The voice, and the movements are too cartoony, especially if WB is aiming for more seriousness. Doesn’t help that nothing about him is intimidating either. He’s too small, and frail looking. Even if they’re going for an Alexander Luthor jr , or a Lex Luthor II angle, it doesn’t work. They fucked up entirely by picking Jesse instead of someone who doesn’t look like they’ll snap in half if Robin looks at them funny.

Lex making fun of people for being dumb is Lex. He’s the king of the sneak diss. His cockiness overconfidence and inability to take certain shit seriously is as much his weakness as Kryptonite is Supermans.
I’ll give you it appears eisenberg is playing these qualities up but that’s his job as an actor just as the late great Heath ledger downplayed Jokers kookyness and played up the anarchist philosophical traits of the joker. And just like everyone was hating on that at first, just like everyone hated Michael Keaton batman at first, once we watch it I won’t be surprised if I’m surprised.

Doomsday was the easiest boss character to create, that allows them to play around with throughout the film. Doomsday can evolve into stronger versions they end up fighting multiple times as lex perfects his experiment, while also dealing with their own conflicts. They cant use darkseid yet, brainiac would require too much background build up, and the universe they created is still new.
For DC man of steel was basically their iron man 1. Its kicking off their universe. Doomsday is a nice brain dead villain to use, and easy to lead into because of the preservation of zods body to be used as a genetic catalyst for doomsdays creation.
There arent too many villains this early on that wouldve made more sense than doomsday. Lex as the only big bad wouldve been weak for the fans imo. Let lex luthers character develop, his tech, and his knowledge of supermans strengths and weaknesses, so when he does come at him, it doesnt seem rushed.
Lex doesnt have the tech right now to battle against batman and superman.
Eisenberg as Lex is the only thing that still feels ‘off’.
I wasn’t sure if that was Lex or The Riddler in that trailer…
This trailer represents everything that’s wrong with modern day trailers. You shouldn’t be able to watch a trailer and effectively map out exactly what events will follow each other throughout the film. I get it. A trailer is meant to give us an idea of the overall plot of the film. That much is certain and a lot of trailers are really good at doing that. The most recent example I can think of is the new Star Wars film. Even with all the trailers that came out, I have an idea of what will happen in the film. But that’s just what it is, an idea. I flat out KNOW what will happen in the Batman vs Superman movie now i.e the point of conflict between Batman and Superman and the threat that unites them together. Hell, I even know what the threat is and who(Lex Luthor) had a hand in getting that threat executed.
Secondly, Eisenberg’s Luthor is garbage, I’m sorry. I see what they’re going for but that isn’t Luthor at all. It’s a shame considering how amazing Michael Rosenbaum’s Luthor was in Smallville. At no point in this trailer did I feel Luthor’s equally threatening presence in the in both the faces of Superman and Batman or their counterparts, Clark and Bruce. He just comes off as a comedic joker. At what point has Luthor even been that?

Lex’s logic for not wanting Superman around kind of makes sense. He thinks humanity will become too reliant on Supermans help and will never evolve. It makes sense until you consider that something is showing up to fuck the Earth up every 20 minutes or so. There’s no way the Earth of the DC Universe would still be around without Supermans presence.
TBH it seems more like Bizarro (clone attempt of kryptonian DNA) with Doomsday custom sprite (dat CGI).
METALLO, easy as shit: Bats used armor + kryptonyte combo, they become buddies, don’t wanna fuck Supes anymore. Lex steals/improves armor+kryptonite then builds Metallo using someone that has some beef against Superman (any republican would do). BOOM. There you go, a stronger than Bats villain (kinda Iron Manish) yet not as powerful as Supes except for Kryptonite assist.

Lets stop pretending like 3, 3 minute trailers, mostly consisting of the same images, is somehow ruining a 2 and a half hour movie. Lets also stop pretending like we go to comic book movies to get surprised. Stop it. I didnt see this complaint for avengers 2, and those trailers pretty much showed you a lot, short of dropping a city on earth. Even still, it was worth it to go see the movie, and the other 2 and a half hours of footage you dont see in the trailer.
Something about superman makes srk act crazy. Why wouldnt they show doomsday. Yeah batman vs superman itself is cool, but cmon, we wanted to see who the big bad is too (although it was obvious months ago it was doomsday because of zod).
IMO, if theyre willing to show you doomsday in action off top like this, than there is even more in store once you get to sit down in watch it. Even man of steels third trailer wasnt even remotely enough of a reason to not go see the movie, and trailers generally can never spoil good movies, or comic book movies.
I’m sure darkseid will be the main bad guy in justice league, and will cap off a battle in Apokolips in justice league 2.
DC is definitely fucking up shooting that wonder woman film right now instead of shazam or even the flash. They must have some real confidence that we will surprisingly like her in BvS, and care enough to watch an entire movie starring gal as wonder woman.
