Damn, I wanna go. Oh well gl to SoCal make that shit happen!
Turns out I can’t go, sorry guys. Have a great time and hope everyone does well!
Gonna get bleauxn.
Also, bring your wallets.
Looking forward to seeing everyone (again) and meeting new faces.
I’m the guy who loves TEKKEN.
Can I have a free stick? I promise to play Tekken with it!
makes alot of sense to have 2 qualifiers both arcade version, when the team tourney is console
AI has slight lag
pretty much cuts out console mainers like yeb that have a good chance upsetting some ecers
YEB?
SIN?
SHADYK?
I don’t know how I missed this. I was in SoCal for House of Cicada. Had I known about this, I would have booked a longer trip. Definitely looking forward to this stream
updated info on the first post
For last 2 spots both qualifiers will be @ Denjin arcade
1 of the tournaments can be run on console so long as people have the equipment
Friday nights @ arcade infinity…
well we know how it gets on friday nights :<
fuck!!
still would like an explanation as to what “bar fight fund” means exactly. $20 per person with a 16 man cap = $320 - 30% = $96 x2 = $192 total for …? asked a couple times before this and got no reply. its all fun and games to enter tournies and attend events, but some clarification should be given when asked imo. at this point im assuming gootecks isnt posting and left this up to shoo, so i am requesting some info please. thanks.
also want to know whats up with the “beat-a-pro” challenge. rules are not stated and this has alot of peoples interest. this is what the website states :
The Beat-A-Pro Challenge is back! The players will be warming up before the matches begin, so this is your chance to challenge the best players in the country. Our main eventers, including Justin Wong, Alex Valle and Ed Ma will be playing fans just like you, so this is your chance to get to play them in a fun environment. Most players, even the ones that enter tournaments regularly, never get the opportunity to play a few games with the best players in the country, so this is your chance to get in a few games with the pros as well as get a few tips.
Anyone that beats any of our pros 2 out of 3 games in the Beat-A-Pro Challenge will win $100. Here are the rules:
?a maximum of $500 will be given out TOTAL, that means that if one guy wins twice and three other guys win once, the contest is over, but of course you can keep playing
?all characters are allowed
?each game is 2 out of 3 rounds, to win you must win 2 out of 3 games
?the challenge will last for one hour, but the stations will be available throughout the event
can we please further elaborate on this? how are players going to be chosen? are you gonna hand pick girls like last time? is this gonna be limited to certain skill levels that are pre-screened? etc.etc.etc.
thanks for the info.
why dont u name it girls vs pros?
I don’t think it’s that big of a stretch to imagine “Bar fights Fund” will pay for getting the place rented, buying console/controller setups, subsizidizing out-of-town players and the potential Beat-A-Pro payout. It’s a fee to run the event, basically, not much different than any venue fee at a regular tournament. And if in the end gootecks came out $192 in the black, he wouldn’t exactly be payin’ mama’s rent anytime soon.
Now regarding the Beat-A-Pro challenges, seems like it’s mainly money match where scrubs put up 10 bucks and will potentially get $100 back if they win. I’m sure anyone putting up the money will get their chance, maybe it’ll be a waiting list of some sort. But I do agree there should be some kind of “maximum skill” limit for it. If you’ve placed in any somewhat respectable tournament, it might be an easy $100 for ya…
What time does the stream start?
$10 bucks to enter only if you suck?
why does everything have to be so unclear?
and the quals is a clusterfuck
lag monitor on arcade to rep the west
last bar fights we sat in line to get into a super crowded lil pool hall and held our sticks the whole time for nothing
cuz they only let girls play beat a pro
I wanna see how Sabin does just getting back from Japan.
that + wondering about 20 $ entry fee and the other 30%… no bueno for out of towners.
anything outside of internet posting stuff is out of my hands so i really got no other info than that or anything else really
and for beat a pro all the people that buy the VIP passes will get to play them.
im not asking you am i? im asking for an answer from the people responsible for this. we can assume anything. i can assume youre an 8 year old jerry’s kid who can barely type… i can also assume your mama pays your rent still too…
then you wanna talk about what beat-a-pro seems like? well it seems like you dont know wtf youre talking about and ill just wait for a reply from… once again… the people who are running this thing. thank you for your quality input though.
thanks shoo, very clear info and glad you reply so quickly!
A random lurking black guy with a shirt on his head might show up.
Hope he gets hospitality…
SHOO! i’d like to share your knowledge on proper tourney running!
i think ive seen u in person b4
