very nice find. I remember when i was testing out the idea of FADCing out of TAP and being positive enough w/o CH i didn’t really find anything (so yaaaaay rainscape lol). AFAIK every FADC’d TAP is -1 on block. Who’d you try this on? Also TAP red focus works on a few of the cast (Sagat being one of them).
I’ve tried it on Sagat, Guy, and Ryu so far I think. The link to jab works on all of them.
Anyway, based on the srk usf4 wiki, TAP 4 has the same hitstun as HP DS (calculating based off active frames, recovery, and frame advantage), so it’s probably not a character specific thing. We’ll need to test a bit more to be 100% sure though.
I think this may have something to do with Capcom tweaking the frame advantage of TAP levels 2-4 in USF4 (as mentioned in the change logs)
Anyway, I did my testing on the PS4 so there’s a chance it may be a wonky platform specific issue. Will try on the PC version and PS3 when I get access to those platforms again. 
The next time i boot up i’ll take a look too.
Tips on executing those gangsta dash straight FADC combos? I can never seem to land the crlp…
You have to hit it earlier than it looks like you can. it’s a 1f link like cr.lp, cr.mp. Just hit it really early. You can plink w/select if you’re into that kind of thing. Definitely worth the effort if you get a good starter.
Good advice. I figured out the hard way that only Fierce version will work. Starting to get the hang of it but no way could I do it in a real match. Just need to practice it I guess.
That combo PR Balrog uses (straight>fadc>crlp>cl.stmp>crlk) to force standing for ex rush is so sexy. I’m trying to learn to do it consistently. I find that crlp instead of crlk works in more situations though.
The straight forces stand anyway so you don’t need thecl.mp better to do cl.hk
Except on some characters, you can’t link a cr.mp after close st.hk e.g. Cammy, twins, which was the reason PR Balrog was using it I think.
Yeah I meant to investigate that further because he was using cl.mp on rolento at Evo but i think vs all the new characters you get far.lp xx HP Dash straight as a follow which I think might be more damage than any follow up you get starting with cl.mp.
If i get time i’ll document the optimal combos.
