How tight is the link between st/cr jab and cr roundhouse? I cant seem to get it unless i’m supposed to be getting dp’d in the middle of it lol

I’m doing it in training and it keeps getting blocked. I feel like I’m doing it pretty damn fast.
I think the spacing might have something to do with it. Stand Jab from max distance then try it. Easy way to assure max distance is crouch next to them, link 3x cr.jab, st.jab, cr.hk

Make sure you’re doing FAR standing jab. Unless it’s on counterhit (gives you additional frame advantage), close standing or crouching jab will not combo into crouch roundhouse. Try this - three jabs, then link into cr. roundhouse.
Most likely you’re just missing the link. It’s a 1f link (far st.lp puts you at +8, cr.hk has 8f startup). Sometimes the rhythm helps too. I remember when i couldn’t get it alot I had the most success early on with: j.hk, cr.mk, cr.lp, st.lp, cr.hk The rhythm there really helped me get the link down.
ok cool Im actually getting it every now and then now. I thought it could be done off of any jab regardless of counterhit or not. So naturally I was trying to do it with my favorite jab the crouching one lol. Thanks for the help guys now that I know I can do it I just need to practice it more. (Also 3nig thanks for that little rhythm combo it helped)
Working on an AE 2012 version of my old “Balrog Challenge Combo+” video (Where you basically extend all the combos and moves used to pass the trials in challenge mode) and came across something mildly amusing.
Just managed to Fwd.Jumping Fierce immediately into Headbutt - Also managed to Fwd.Jumping Fierce directly into EX RU (Makes sense that if you can land any charge move after a jumpin then they should all work anyways - Currently seeing if I can possibly super or ultra directly from a jumpin’).
I doubt this is new information as it should be possible to see if it was ever possible just by looking at game data about charging, but seeing it // performing it is another thing altogether as it’s obviously EXTREMELY tight, charge wise.
No idea if it’s interesting or not anyways.

Something like J.hk, cl.hk, ex.ru may get you more stun in the long run especially if you stack them. (e.g. j.hk, cl.hk, hk.ru FADC, cr.lp, cl.hk, ex.ru, cr.lp, cr.mp xx hp.hb Try it on Akuma. almost 100% sure it’s character specific and WILL NOT work on Balrog.
You certain you can combo a CS.HK into EX RU without a jab?
Feel a bit silly saying that because I can actually perform stuff like C.MP>EX RU>C.LP>EX RU>Standing Jab>Headbutt (As in remove one of the normally ‘two’ normals between each loop) but still, never seen a CS.HK into a special. I’ll give it a spin later on. So far the combo’s I’ve recorded aren’t exactly aiming to break many boundries - Just simply to ‘extend’ what is asked of you in the Challenge Mode and ‘try’ to look kinda fresh
For example, when it says to perform a Headbutt, I changed it to NJ.RH, CS.MK Headbutt - It looks completely weird and isn’t the easiest thing to execute on a whim, so would be a fun ‘alternate’ combo to train. Also includes above mentioned F.J FP Headbutt and other nonense.
Will give your combos a shot when I get back to recording - A CS.RH connecting to C.MK would be nice, pepper in a FS.JAB and you can link to whatever you please from there, but if it requires a counter hit, meh, that wont help - I’m not using the regular training room, am using the Challenge room, so I can’t alter settings.

cr.mk has far less pushback than it seems, and you can still get close normals after jump-ins into cr.mk on certain characters. There’s a post in the MU thread where I tested weird links like that on the entire cast. (check out the spreadsheet).
Unfortunately that video is ‘blocked in my country’ so I can’t see it. I’ll probably put together some more combo’s in training room seeing as Dan and his reaction to focus attacks make it very hard to land certain things I wanted to perform for the video, such as FA Crumple to TAP (Seeing as he goes face down ass up so quick, you can’t hit him with normals unless they are delayed, and cant Dash into TAP at all) - And yet you can land a ‘delayed’ CS.FP which is arguably higher than TAP.
aaarg, i might strip the audio and re-upload. It’s possible, just try it on Akuma though, try j.hk, cr.mk, cl.hp on a standing Akuma. Plink the cl.hp.
Ended up deleting all the “Challenge” room combos and will instead just use the training room to show off some ‘lesser seen’ stuff so if you do show me a few options to consider I’ll try include those too if they open up some nice possibilities. I liked the JF, CSFP into CJab you did in the Meaties video by the way.

A while back i remember being able to link OH, cr.mk, cr.mp xx hp.hb on crouching Hakan. Should follow suit for Zangief, Gouken and T-Hawk, maybe Balrog. Anyone with a wide horizontal crouching hurtbox.
Tried OH CMK CMP on Zangief, he’d block the tip of the CMP every time - Didn’t bother trying the other characters yet.
Bit dissapointed how I can’t seem to perform any dash move after an overhead - The only exception being when I OH into CMK FSLP on standing Zangief. I see -R- and many others do it quite casually and I mentioned being unable to perform it before here on the Forums but no luck since then ever figuring out why - I can only assume it’s a keyboard issue.
