seem simple enough, ill give it a try thank for the help.
I was actually wondering why people do this.
c. LK does 30 dmg while c. LP does 20, you might not be sacrificing much damage but it’s very worth it considering how easy the link is
Range…
Read most of the thread and used the search function, but still didn’t see one of rog’s easiest ways to land his ultra.
J. FP(RH), Ultra (524 dmg)
Now obviously you can’t jump forward and get this to work (no charge) but it works very nicely when you have your back in the corner, or when you are jump back against a forward moving attack (ie headbutt). My favorite way to set this up is when you get cornered by a rushdown player and you see a throw attempt coming, jump back rh, ultra and watch them take massive damage or if they stuck out a command grab and you score a counter hit you take a sick 552 health from them with the greatest of ease!!
umm… how about 9 posts up?
thanks for the dmg though… reason it is so high is because you get all the hits (unlike when you juggle)… as i mentioned above, vs. sagat’s ultra, it’s just mad satisfying…
Hi Everyone…
Im using Rog and I was can anyone help me out with something… I can’t seem to figuring out the timming for the EX rush upper cut into the cr. Jab - Cr, Jab … Can anyone help me out on this one?
I look threw past pages and I’ve seen a few postings but nothing has been working… Was wondering if there is a new ideas
Just do this over and over in training with infinite meter and dummy set to auto block:
:db:,:r:,:db:+:lk::mk:,:lp:
Like everything else there is no magical method of landing it consistently. It’s all practice, practice, practice.
Personally, I go by sound since I’m a musical person. I stay in training doing combos over and over studying their rhythm until I have it down - just like learning a song on an instrument…
That’s all I got…
Actually it works better if you use
:db:,:uf:,:db:+:lk::mk:,:lp: because of the way the shortcuts work in the game if you use
:db:,:r:,:db:+:lk::mk: you will get the the EX-Low Upper smash. So if you are having trouble going from a crouching back position to forward, try the up-forward instead. GL
Im trying to learn Rog, first charge character im trying to learn ever. Im having a hard time connecting combo into ultra.
I do j.fierce, 3xc.jab, strong headbutt -> Ultra but I only connect with the first hit of the Ultra? It doenst juggle like I see in numerous videos?
why is it not possible to do rushpunch into ultra like you can do rushpunch into super?
does a 3x c.jab to rushpunch link? and can you use super after that?
like this: j.fierce, 3xc.jab, rushpunch -> super?
You can control Balrog’s ultra, try starting the ultra with the uppercut (kick), than press punch so he does a straight and it whiffs, than go back to holding the kick button.
k,p,k,k,k
Results vary depending where you are on the stage
I don’t think any of the charge characters can ultra that easily, the special move into an ultra is more of a shoto thing.
Yes but make sure you are linking in to the last jab (waiting for the previous jab to end) NOT canceling (just spamming the jab button).
its pretty sweet that you can j.fierce, 3xc.jab, rushpunch into super
but makes no sense that you cant do it into Ultra. without checking into it, I would assume its something to do with framedata?
I believe you can EX rush punch into ultra, correct?
but would it be worth it, with damage scaling and all, to j.fierce, 3xc.jab, EX rushpunch -> ultra
think the maximum of hits allowed is 8 and that combo is 10. Maybe j.fierce, c.strong, EX rushpunch -> Ultra would work
whats the easiest way to land the ultra? hit confirming the j.fierce or is there a different setup?
You can do a rush punch into super because you can cancel normal and special moves into super (i.e. you can do the super before the previous move has ended). But it’s not possible to cancel into ultra, so you cannot do a rush punch or EX rush punch into ultra.
I don’t know if the easiest, but probably the most common way to land the ultra is juggling with it after a headbutt. There’s plenty of info in this forum on how to do this and how to maximize damage, but basically you want to do the headbutt with ub motion so you keep the back charge to do the ultra right after. And then to juggle you can use kpkkk that works everywhere.
This is true, against sagat’s weird hitbox it’s probably better to end with c.LK.
thanks for clearing that up. Yea, it seems the headbutt is the way to go
Odd. I was wondering why the EX Smash comes out every once in a while even though I KNOW I’m not hitting :df:
Actually, I hadn’t seen this topic yet:
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=173508
It looks like there is a way of cancelling an EX Armoured move into Ultra using a glitch in the game, but you need to absorb a hit and the timing seems strict. I haven’t tried it yet.
Hey guys, fist post here.
I’m not really new to the street fighter series, but now that I’m trying to learn how to play this seriously I’m having tons of trouble doing some cancels and/or links. (I’m mainly a KOF player, so maybe it’s that)
For example, one of the BnB’s in this page (cr.LP x2 ~ cr.LK xx Headbutt) I can’t seem to figure out the right timing to cancel from cr.LK, it seems to be way different (?) than just doing cr.LK xx Headbutt.
One of the other issues I’m having is doing [cr.LP x3 xx Straight], as it seems to work randomly or not at all sometimes.
I turned on input display in training mode and I seem to be doing the inputs fine, so it’s most likely bad timing.
Any tips?
more practice. the c.LK headbutt one is just timing it seems that it’s different when you put it into the c.LPx2 but it’s not. Try just doing c.LP x3 (that way your hands don’t have to go anywhere) then after you get that down you can try doing the c.LK with it… it’s more about the fluidity of the button pushing then it is anything.
like i normally do c.LP x3 headbutt, but i can do c.LP x2 c.LK headbutt 100 times in a row if i need to. It just took tons of practice is all.
These combos are seriously -not- that hard to pull off. Read the Beginner’s Guide section about links, cancels, etc. My bet is that you are cancelling the cr.lp’s into each other instead of linking them, resulting in the special not coming out.
c.lp xx c.lp xx c.lp xx straight - won’t work
c.lp xx c.lp > c.lp xx straight or c.lp > c.lp > c.lp xx straight - will work
Oh yeah, and the special cancel after lp/lk is pretty quick. When I’m doing the combo it’s like… how can I describe it… tap, tap, ta-tap.
Don’t know if that helps… like everyone else says
“Practice”
I’m having trouble with canceling normals in combos into special moves.
Like the c:lp:, c:lp:, c:lk: xx Headbutt/Straight/anything.
Am I doing the special move at the end too late or there’s a trick to doing it easy? Very strict or small window of time to do it?
Sorry just started Balrog yesterday.
