B15SDM DESIGNS Vewlix Custom Arcade Cabinet with Work Log

I would go for the 360 as if you’re going to use a lag-free tv (or as lag-free as possible), the 360 is closest to the ‘an arcade version’ (slight graphical differences, very minute frame descrepancy with PS3 vers.). All imo of course.

I agree with you to be honest. I would rather the game play be as close to the arcade version as possible and sacrfise some of the graphics). I have been playing ssf4 on the 360 using a crt tv and there is no input lag etc. I was using this setup for a few weeks and jumped on my ps3 for which I use a 52" lcd tv and the input lag was bloody awful! I know its mainly to do with the tv but I did feel a slight difference between the 360 & ps3 while testing it on the crt. I definately want to avoid or greatly reduce the input lag issue.

Does anyone know what monitor is used in the actual vewlix cabinet? I heard it was a sanwa model but im not sure.

Great work on this, man. Very, very impressive.
I just wish I had somewhere to put something this big. What’s the estimated cost of the project?

I found this info:

Vewlix L: (GTT co. TLK-320Y) (GTT est une compagnie coréenne)
http://www.gtt.co.kr/public_html/pdf/[Datasheet]TLK-320.pdf
Vewlix F: (Sanwa T32H075(KA)

Thanks man, I think soo far I have spent about £200-300 on materials, paint, hardware, special tools etc. The main hit to the pocket was the lcd tv im going to throw in there which cost me £350.

Why dont you just build one then worry about where its going to go, lol. Thats what I am doing.

Thanks for that! I been looking for this info for a while now. Apprantly one of the monitors is ever soo slightly laggy-er than the other. I wont how much these monitors cost.

Costs are super reasonable B15. I would love to hit my Jap 360 in there, man those Cave shmups on a cab! … aww Yeah! … ow and of course err … BlazeBlue, SF and so … :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow…i’ve been seeing your custom stick everywhere and just noticed this thread was started by you. Looked through each page for like 10 minutes with my jaw on the floor each time i scrolled down. this is amazing along with all works you’ve done…but seriously this is icing on velvet cake man. i too cannot wait to see the final product. mad props and keep up the hard work! must be fun…the feeling after completing this will be so priceless…

i just noticed i use the same plexy brand

side panels look awesome btw, cant wait to see more pics of the whole thing…

the one thing you have to worry about is the lack of air the xbox is getting in the cab wich could lead to the dreaded RROD. so id recommend getting some talismoon replacement fans ,not those crappy external fans

I totally agree with you on that one and I had already planned to use some additional fan/cooling system. Once the cabinet is put together I will be mounting some fans in the back panel to pull the air out of the compartments. Just need to find some highly efficient and quiet ones.

I do have the xbox 360 elite (jasper edition) which apparantly has a much lower RROD chance. But I wont be taking any chances.

Damn b15 That looks so Fuckin BOSS! Cant wait to see it finalized

Heres another question regarding the artwork for the control panel. I pretty much kept the original Vewlix layout but added my own twist and colour changes.

Which one do you guys think is the nicest???

#2m easily.

Yeah def the 2nd one. Looking forward to seeing this done!

Yep, number 2 is far better.

just added one more option…

haha nice!

I prefer the 2nd version a little more with that background.

I would probably like the 1st one more if the grey “clouds” were a little darker to increase the contrast between that and the turquoise/jade line work.

This whole project is mind blowing BTW.

#2 for sure

Either 2 or 4

2 seems a little plain once you’ve seen 4 so, I can’t decide.
