B15SDM DESIGNS Vewlix Custom Arcade Cabinet with Work Log

I also gave all of the other pieces a once over. As there are large flat surface areas it is very important to get this EVEN MORE smoother.

Always use a scotch brite pad inbetween coats if you leave the paint to cure over night. It helps adhesion to the layers below.

I then applied another coat of high gloss black. I always use a “panel wipe” between cured coats as it helps to remove any contamination or dust particles. Always use a lint free cloth and then wipe over it with some “tack rags”.

I applied another 2-3 coats of high gloss black until it acheives the desired result. As this is a 2part high gloss black paint it doesnt require any clear coats. BUT I am going to apply it anyway to increase the luster of the finish and provide an even scratch resistant surface.

Ugh, that’s too good to be true. I’m calling photoshop

Cannot WAIT to see final product.

Move to the US so I can afford a case pls.

I just applied the first clear coat and it is becoming more and more smoother. From now on I wont need to do any wetsanding/compounding/polishing. This is what you get if the preperation work is spot on. Remember spraying only makes up 5% of the total finish. 95% of the work is in the preperation/primer stages!

So glad the paint came out so well. That looks awesome man!

more and more smoother…

more and more awesome-r!

Right everyone…I am struggling to decide which colour scheme to go for. Obviously the black and white will definatley be staying but I cant decide on the accent colour.

I have taken a section of the sketchup model and just started playing around with the colours.

All of your feedback would be greatly appreciated. (Just state which number is the best)

^Red is always classic for a viewlix, but this is a Bewlix , so I would go for #7 or #11. The other colors don’t really contrast to the black and white to me.

I’d lean towards the red but since you want it to be your own, probably the 7. Most of the other colours don’t look too hot for me, but 12 has potential as well.

i’m liking 12 the most. 7 is cool as well.

six or twelve for me, but I’d lean more to six

I was thinking #9

I would personally just go with 10. Although it’s boring old grey, I know it looks good with black and white.

Yep 9 is the one.

#4, #6 are classic colours for Vewlixes. Be brave and try #11 (yellow) ! Many sports cars are painted yellow (some porsches) and given that your cab is really curvy (like a 911), I think yellow would be just great.

I would do a scheme you won’t get sick of so I vote for something more muted like #1, #5, or #10. Vibrant colors always look cool at first, until you stare at them every day.

I totally agree with this sentiment, especially considering it looks like a freshly-waxed paintjob.
