B*tches Gather 'Round: The MvC3 Iron Man Team Thread

I am sorry I cannot right now because I like taking on challenges, and Iron Man is a challenge to me so I would like to give him a shot. If all else fails, I’ll back Magneto back up, but right now I like the Synergy the best between Strange and Iron Man.

No I haven’t dropped ironman just playing with doom cuz he fun
check out

go to 1:42:15 i was using ironman (cuz the stream monsters were asking me to) till the end of the stream and got like a 13 or 14 game win streak if u wanna check it out

^Making Iron man look like Magneto II with a bowl of glowing blue spaghetti over his head.

Just wanted to say your amazing Joker. That is all.

Hey guys! I have been using Iron Man a bit for a while (not on really any teams) but I am currently looking through potential anchors for my team. I am currently running Spidey(B) / Skrull(a-combo extender) / Doom(B-projectile and combo extender) Although I have a pretty solid Doom, I am getting tired of him and was wondering about Iron Man as an anchor. I know he is no Doom, but I don’t want a comparison of the two as I am wanting to seek another character other than Doom I tried Iron Man on anchor for a wee bit and it didn’t go very well. I was wondering from the Iron Man players here if they could give me their view of the pros and cons as well as battle strategy with Iron Man on anchor. I would greatly appreciate it. Please and thank you

Iron Man is a decent anchor. He has jump loops in level 2 or 3 x factor that will kill pretty much anybody, and gets a nice mobility boost, and a pretty beefy Unibeam xx Iron Avenger hit confirm (you can confirm it from greater distances while in X-Factor), but overall he’s not the best anchor in the world. The biggest problem with Iron Man is that because of his execution requirement, learning to play him in anchor slot is a bitch. I mean I started playing Doom not too long ago, and despite my Doom still not being that spectacular, I feel like he’s easy enough with LVL 3 X Factor its not a huge issue. With Iron Man, the initial learning curve is huge because he’s a pretty unintuitive character, and the best way to learn to play Iron Man is to play him on point, despite playing Iron Man on point never being a great idea.

So my advice is Spiderman/Iron Man/Skrull in that order. I don’t know enough about Skrull to tell you which assist to use to benefit Iron Man, but you need one that forces the opponent to block so you can get in. Once you feel like you are comfortable enough with his movement and hit confirms/general execution try switching Iron Man and Skrull’s position on your team.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately Skrull is best in the middle here. His assist caters uniquely to Spidey in extending combos. It would be nice to have a general beam assist. As for the execution, I am used to high level of execution with Spider-Man and his extended bnbs. I actually know how to do several aerial combos, full combos from throws, fly combos and the crispy creme with Iron Man, so at least execution isn’t an issue there. It is just that he would have to be anchor. Because he wouldn’t benefit at all from the Skrull assist I use and I have a lot of reasons for using it that would take a bit to explain. So it would be better to have Skrull with a good assist from Iron Man than Iron man with a bad assist from Skrull. Thanks for the advice though. I really love Iron Man and have put a lot of time into him. I have just never been incredibly successful with him.

I think Iron Man is a decent enough anchor, but to get to good “Anchor Man” status, you need to put in work on point. This character’s massive learning curve is one of his biggest problems. It sounds like you’re execution is good enough though so give it a shot. A lot of people that want to play Iron Man drop him like a sack of hot shit when they figure out how hard he is to play.

Spiderman is pretty high up there in terms of execution requirement anyway, you should be fine.

Thanks. I will give him more work on point. Usually when I play, Spidey and Skrull usually put in the work so I seldom have to use my anchor. So I will try playing him on point. He does benefit from spidey web swing assist. you can use it to link smart bombs l or m into repulsor blast> spread then use the hard knockdown to then smartbombs>proton cannon. Either way, I will put in the time into him to see how it works. Thanks for your input and advice

Hey guys, I’ve been working on a new team. I really like the feel of Iron Man and I was considering
Taskmaster (Horizontal Arrows)/Iron Man (Repulsor)/Akuma (Tatsu), all opinions appreciated.

I’m also considering Jill/IM/Sent

I’m really liking Mag/IM/Sent right now just because it feels right playing it. I remember playing this exact same team back when Josh 360 was playing it and now Joker is also playing the same team and I’m learning shit from him.

This team is fucking nuts, like cross up magnetic blast with repulsor goin off and got you blockstun etc with drones it’s even more ridiculous. Yall already know

EDIT: Is this shit funny lookin or what?

What character would you guys consider to cap this team off , Dorm (black hole ) , Iron Man (unibeam) , xxxxx

My gut tells me go with an otg assist , but if dorm goes down that doesn’t give him much to work with.

I been told strider is a good fit here but he really isn’t ny style.

Sentinel (drones) or Dante (Jam Session) both of those assist help Dorm with his keep away and combo extensions and help Iron Man control space.

assuming that on a scale of 1-10 measuring assness, IM is at 10; how much better does he become with drones? never played the dude in my life but joker does work

Whats your guys opinion of Deadpool(Quick Work)/Iron Man(Repulsar Blast)/Arthur(Daggers)? I want to try this team at some point when I get some time. With the new Iron Man tech discovered that lets him switch sides before ADD, I want an assist that pins from the other side, and I am not the biggest fan of Sentinel.

Arthur anchor is absolute garbage, requires gold armor to be scary in the slightest and once he goes gold hes 10 seconds away from death, the conditions for him to do anything are too specific and the assist is only really mediocre.

I really think if you want to play Ironman as anything other than an assist you need Sent or Doom until someone else proves otherwise.

+1 on Arthur anchor being garbage.

Yeah I’m gonna stick with Doom in third slot, sometimes I get these creative (terrible) ideas for teams. I’ve already used up the “one allotted bad character” slot anyway.

I think Cold Star works too but not as well as drones and missiles. I will never play IM without those 3 assists.
