Think I finally found my complete team.

Thor, Viewtiful Joe, Modok.

Or, if I want to win and have more fun:

Wesker, Zero, Doom. Wesker’s a ton of fun to play!

I was there on Friday night with some friends. 1 dollar a game, 4 cabs (connected in pairs, so the left most two can only play one another and the right most two can only play one another). Evil Ryu and Oni are unlocked. Some of the people were claiming that the buttons were busted on one cab but I played on all four and they were just fine. The cabs were upgraded from Sengoku Basara and Vanilla, meaning standard resolution, one stick per monitor. The sound was turned down on the left most cab.

Honestly, it’s much more cost effective to go to Golfland, but GW has more cabs and are better at keeping the cabs functioning. You’re also more likely to run into people at GW since it’s got a mall attached to it.

I will try to at least get the raw videos up in the next few days. I got a hell of a week building sticks and I am leaving for vegas on Thursday. I will do my best.

I’ll keep telling you man, your team has strong functionality.

money match me, now please.

Hahahaha… So Mike, you would rather just lose more money since you are not winning jack? Tell you what, to make it more interesting for you - you can pay $5.00 per Ranbat so you feel the pressure to win - I can even throw the money in the pot so if you do win you get it all back :lovin:

Of course everyone knows that the $1.00 Ranbat buy in is to try and get all the other couch commandos out there to come and play, right? The first season of Marvel is probably our best chance to see new blood enter the community - we have a ton of more opportunities to have tournaments, etc. for “real” money, if that is what really motivates people.

As for the comic book tourneys - eh, it is what it is, that is what they have to offer and we are just helping them by facilitating the tournaments for them. Again, working to broaden the community… Free tournament and practice for everyone, not much to complain about those I would think but what do I know.

i hope your rage was recorded. We can get jedirobb to put it in to the dev video.

dayum, comic scene blowin up in phx

:frowning: that’s embarrassing

How do you know I’m not winning jack. My concern is wasting my time on dollar tournaments that depend on making all 8 tournaments that expand over 3 months for me to win any money. Money is always a factor.

That’s why I thought that devastation run ranbats are wack. Which why I was talking about interest in other tournaments.

I’ve seen other people on the boards talk about higher $$ entry tournaments. Other people can run tournaments besides you Robb.

Robb being put on blast? Armando thinks hes good? Lueys wants Arny’s huevo’s? what next, Hazem loves Pork?

Thanks alot bro am doing my best. And yes you r right

Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch LOL

Ranbats are ranbats, aka ranking battles, aka there to RANK the players, therefore its about the points and getting people to enter. There are plenty of mvc3 tournaments coming, for money. there’s plenty of tournaments being talked about to be held during the season, so imo it needs to be viewed differently.

And aaron, your right, guile is a bitch, its about that yang.

im just messing around. I got pretty upset when i lost to phoenix. No shame in raging every once in awhile. it shows your human. But i still think it would be awesome to add it to a video .
@cory. yang is pretty cool. modeled after my fav gundam wing character

I so rarely jibe that it is fun to see people get upset when I do, even when I show the :lovin:… you know I love ya man.

Regardless of how much the Ranbats cost you will STILL need to make all 8 tournaments for you to win any money… that is kinda the point with Ranbats, right? 1st place gets the lion’s share of points and if you skip weeks it is very easy to get de-throned. So, I am not sure what the difference is if the Ranbats were $10.00 or $1.00, at least based on your point about time to win money as that would not be impacted by the amount paid whatsoever.

I completely agree with you about other tournaments, which is why I said that we (the community) have a ton of more opportunities for tournaments with “real” money… I think you took it as “we” me and not as I intended it which is that “we” all have more opportunities.

Say it with me: Woosah

P.S.

You are still not winning jack!

Arizona Ranbat’s in the past have had both a weekly winner and seasons winner. So if I can only show up one week but can’t make to all the tournaments. I still have a shot at some money. I belive it was $5 entry 1 dollar going towards the season the other $4 for that week. That’s what was my suggestion to Bryan.

Look I’m not trying to change the Ranbats. My original post was about interest in other tournaments with a better payout. I said from the beginning it was about payout and money. The only reason why I suggest a change in the entry fee was because Bryan posted he agreed about making it more worthwhile.

I’m not upset about this, if I was you would know. I know more than most people about how you respond to these kinds of posts. You’re the one who decided to make it about me in your post not about the ranbats.

When you say “We” it’s usually related to the dev group. That’s how I took it.

I understand making. It cheap to possibly get new players. I get that. But to a lot of players(I’m talking mainly about ranbat) probably don’t want to come for the exact same reason. Am I going to drive 40+ miles for a dollar tourney that might be full of noobs that are too Cheap to atleast spend 5 bucks? On top of that I won’t see anything unless I keep driving 80+ each time, and probably haveto win each time til I get, what, $100probably? That won’t even cover the gas I had to use to make sure I attend each one. Which brings me to my next issue. Why peoria? Now you severely limit the entrants even more by having it so far out west. Who the hell lives that far west other than japan3gro(who won’t go anyway I’m sure)and a couple others? Im where you would call barely east side(ahwatukee) and that shit is far, especially for a dollar tourney, and a dollar tourney that i have to win over a span of like 5 tourneys or whatever. Imagine a huge amount of players in tempe/mesa/chandler that have to drive even further. I love competition. But there has to be incentive for all that work(and that long drive). There isnt. It really does only cater to the extreme cheapskates and casual players that usually disappear anyway. Tourneys, especially ranbats, should see who is best overall, and it should be a gamble so theres a payoff and motivation to play hard. Theres really neither.

What also happens when 1 player has a substantial lead in ranking points that its impossible for him to come in 2nd for the season? then going to the remaining tournaments are a huge waste of time cuz you get absolutely nothing from individual tourneys. Everyone just shows up anyway and gives the guy with the guaranteed victory more money, no matter the outcome? Nope, they just don’t show up, I wouldn’t, especially considering the distance. That’s pretty bad.

I dunno,i just think its a really bad location and really bad pricing if you are trying to get everyone out there. Tourney organizers should be striving to entice all Players. This only entices the noobs who have losing mentalities"I’m probably gonna lose" that are also incredibly cheap.

Is 5bucks really that expensive? I think its a big mistake to cater more towards the casual crowd that usually dont stick around rather than the people that keep this scene afloat. Or rather cater to Everyone so everyone wants to go.

I know i probably wont go. I mean, if i cant make em all(which i cant) then whats the point even if i win 1 of the ranbat tourneys? I walk away empty handed and I shake up the results a little. Basically, I wasted time, gas, money.
