it takes much more skill to compete at a vs game then it does to compete at SSF4. Super CAN be fun at times but pales in comparison to MvC3.

@dana: the game might not be for you. honestly if your not having any fun then I would suggest stop playing it, but in the long run this game will test how strong of a player you are.

@muji:I would just throw projectiles his way and wait for an opportunity to super a whiffed or some sort of unsafe dive kick.

I am going to keep up with it until I actually understand it. I feel like giving up before then is just a waste of time. It is tough to retrain how to think for this fighter, as well as retraining the muscle memory of my hands for different bnb situations. But so far, this game is just not as fun as SF to me.

I’m with luey on this one. If you don’t like it; don’t force yourself to play it. However, it is my opinion that playing vs games and other fast fighters (bb, gg) really help you become well rounded and comfortable when it comes to execution, defense, and thinking outside the box. Giving it a shot can only help your game :stuck_out_tongue:

luey, i disagree. no game is easier than another. in fact, marvel is way easier at a beginner level than sf. and mvc3 is super easy to jump into since basic combos do a lot. both games are incredibly hard to get to top level play. i mean, lets be honest, if it was that easy, all of us would be sponsored and getting top 8 at evo right?

its annoying when fools like to constantly diss sf4 for being easy, yet not proving how easy it is beyond scrub level. theres a crap ton of things that are much much easier to do in marvel, and vice versa. dont kid yourself

hell, i dont consider myself a great marvel player. i suck at mvc2, but im doing pretty solid in mvc3 already…

<3

SF teaches excellent fundamentals; but sometimes you need an animu game to get the right amount of crazy injected into your gameplay. Movement and pressure is a huge part of any airdasher game, so it’s good to feel comfortable in both realms imo.

Yeah, so far MVC3 is shaping up to be one of my favorite fighters. I am having too much fun with this game. It’s just enjoyable to play right now.

I’m going to do to MvC3 as I do to 2. Learn how to spectate it so I can fully enjoy it without playing it. It’s just not my game no matter how hard I try.

I can explain Trish Trap set-ups Weskers Cross up Super set-ups… How annoying Arthur really is with the right assists and Mag is still the god of Tri-Jumping.

This is what I do, since you have sent I imagine you are using drone assist. When they go in the air call sent drones, dash under, watch drones hit, do massive dmg combo. sent drone assist is really good at dealing with that shit since its on the screen for so long its easy to have them fall into it, just make sure you dash under AFTER you call so the drones are on the other side. Dooms hidden missiles work the same way.

Oh I may be wrong but… I doubt it. lol thanks Nick that video was tight.

Also Nick don’t give up on MVC3, its making me better at hit confirming in SSF4AE, so practicing MVC3 is making me a better SSF4AE player too!

Snk doesn’t play mvc3 cause you can’t hold down back all day.

Haha mike trudat

To be fair tho, his akuma is not too shabby

Against dive kicks, I would try spacing myself with back dashing and trying to hit them as they touch the ground.

make a lobby :frowning:
i saw too tall online yesterday, but i watched a movie instead (wanted, I likes it)

MvC3 jus hard cuz U gotta learn 3 ppl… wtf they do,match ups against 100 other ppl. and if u get caught, GGPO

I WOULD FUCKIN LOOOOVE TO PLAY KOF!!!
every since CvS2, I love those cats! shyt, I love CvS2 even though I can’t play(both physical and in game, lol)
Terry plays MvC2 haha

Dive kicks, Advance guard and punish?

Most divekicks aren’t + on block. they’re only REALLY awesome with support from an assist. punish sloppy ones with throws. I would pushblock a divekick and call an assist like chunli while laying down a blockstring and go for mixup. I haven’t had any luck punishing those moves, but I have had success getting momentum back from poorly placed ones and going for instant overheads and whatnot.

You can always try to go for an air throw if they get too readable. airthrows are active at frame 1… I believe. I’ll have to look it up again.

If you’re talking about tri jumping though; I can’t help you. block it and PB.

The best answer to dealing with divekicks is to just quit and play Minecraft.

I wonder what a strat guide by DrDogg on Mincecraft would be like? Prolly shit as well.

Neil: Creeper command grab is too good, makes him top tier… Can’t talk about it here though.
:coffee:

I wasnt commenting on Super being easier then Marvel, or Marvel being scrub friendly, which BOTH Super and Marvel definitely are, I was saying that AT higher level gameplay MvC3 will be harder to compete at than Super. Marvels gameplay elements are so much more vast than Super its amazing. Super, when compared to Marvel, is basic. Im not saying Super is a terrible game only that Marvel offers more. The only part of Super that is ‘harder’ than Marvel (as of right now) is execution, and possibly reaction.

So I hoped that I explained myself well enough scott because I wasnt bashing super. If you feel like debating this farther, Im all ears.

@Justin: how you liking MvC3…? and that team you runnin with…?

I’m really enjoying it so far, but I wish xfactor didn’t give extra damage honestly.

I got lucky with my first team and stuck with it. wolverine/storm/chunli

imma be on
