These discussions are really funny. I don’t have any firsthand opinions on Saturday, so I’ll stay out of that whole Tristan thing.
I don’t think we should ever restrict the stream based on the quality of players. I agree that our scene is pretty barebones when it comes to skilled players in all games, but that’s what we’ve got. Should we just not stream because we’re not good enough? Fuck that, if we’re really that bad there’s nothing to lose by streaming it. Concerned about hurting our egos? If we’re trash we shouldn’t have egos in the first place, and getting hate from the internet will be a good wake up call. I also think the stream will motivate a few (but definitely not all) players to really step up their game to avoid being humiliated when more and more people tune in. I hope to count myself among one of those people. I do agree with the point that it’s hard to commentate on low skill level matches, but that’s when you bring in the color commentators to spice it up, or the informative ones to help people learn from the mistakes that are being made on stream. The golden rule here is that color commentator DOES NOT equal a negative commentator who just shits on everyone and talks about how bad the game is.
lol @ Dormando getting hate. It’s true, his level 3 X-Factor Dorm pretty much kills 2 characters, but his other two point characters are still good at killing at least one of yours. So while Dorm is definitely the backbone of the team, it’s not quite a full crutch.
And don’t go shitting on MMPork, either. That fool got 10x better these past months, he asks questions and he’s always got a good attitude. You’re playing well, Kyle, keep at it.
It’s also really funny seeing Arnul actually being serious in this thread and looking out for the community. It surprised me so much that I’m really taking him serious for once.

@luey - I don’t recall ever mentioning you on this forum before my previous post. As for the consequences, I am pretty aware of the consequences for things that I say.
The amount of short sightedness and selective comprehension going on in this specific community is interesting. There has always been a lot of groupthink going on, and social-moral rules are often bent in favor of the group. It has died down a lot since the Dorion days, but is still around. It is… aww forget it.

Devastation crew is hosting the tournament. Just like ranbats, quality setups.

Right now we have 4-5 people for casuals next Wed.
I will be there, but I’m honestly not expecting much from the tournaments. I’ll probably only play in the Tekken 6 and MK9 tournaments… and only because I’ll be there for the DEV booth. If not for that, I wouldn’t even bother.

Not sure what the prizes are this year, but when I won Soul Calibur 4 and Puzzle Fighter two years ago I received a PS2 game and a baseball figurine.
