Oops… did not grab this one. You kinda went sideways asking about MK and then asking about other popular games… also do you mean tourneys in general or MK or any?
You should just come out and see for yourself… as Sabre mentioned, there are a bunch of free events going on, including two back-to-back MK tournaments May 7th and May 14th.
We will have MK setups and, if Bryan gets his way, a tournament Sunday at the MvC3 Ranbats. Check out the link for the dates/locations/details of the upcoming events:
Played Marvel a bit online last night, 'twas fun. I’m gonna stick with this game, I enjoy my team and I’m still learning a lot about the engine. GGs Sean, I need to get my max damage combos down so I can capitalize on the few times you give me an opening.
What’s the notation for your 43%? Depending on what it starts with, it may be a better alternative to the 1 bar combos I’m currently using.
I think you’re exaggerating a bit Mike. You have the parry glitch that only effects 3 characters (one is x-ray only), and the fact that the Xbox version doesn’t retain the updates offline.
Compare that to MvC3 and I think MvC3 wins in terms of which game is more broken. I do expect it to be patched though… probably when NRS does the “we need to fix online” patch in a couple of weeks.
It’s only on the Xbox version. The community has already determined that PS3 is the tournament standard for MK, so it’s really not a big deal.
That’s a tough question. I think a lot of the MK players don’t know where to go to find competition. I’m sure there are a lot here, just hidden. I know there are a decent number of people on SRK that are playing, and some AZ people on the MK sites (but we have no AZ thread on the MK sites). As Robb suggested, just come out to one of the upcoming events and you’ll find some MK action going on.
Saturday we’ll have MK casuals going. Sunday we’ll probably have an MK tournament at the MvC3 ranbats, then we have two MK tournaments coming up at Bookmans in May. I’d also guess that if we do a $5-10 entry MvC3 tournament, we’ll probably add an MK tournament as well.
But I wasn’t talking about the community version or the tournaments, I was strictly speaking about the current situation with the Xbox. It IS a big deal TO ME because I don’t go online with my Xbox at all. I update the games, disconnect my XB and it stays like that until I hear about another update. The only other time I go online is to download DLC. I don’t have XBL Gold nor do I have an interest in getting it.
Sorry about the wording man. I’m just wondering what are the most popular games in the valley. And where is most of the action at? I live in north Phoenix and I can’t drive too far to find competition.
i wish i could play mike =( too bad real life is being a total dick to me lately and wont let me do anything at all this week, or this whole month, rather =/
This. I’m no where near as good at this game yet as I am/was in MvC2, but I’d go to this and try ta give people a run for my free $$.
A real tournie with real stakes, not no $1 season ranbat (no offense, cuz its still fuckin awesome that you guys are doing this and developing the community) would push people harder and motivate the hardcore. But the thing is it would only really motivate the hardcore. I’m pretty sure after that the scene would slowly start to die out =/
I dunno. I could be wrong (but I doubt it). I’m just sayin’ we’ve all seen i happen…
Been messing around with Iron Man a bit. He’s a ton of fun. He’s like everything I wanted Doom to be, I may be doing some rearranging on my team.
Was supposed to study for an exam tonight but got caught up playing Marvel instead. GGs to Garbage Mike, Haz, Armando, and SteelWingX (Who are you? Got a random friend request, but XBL says you’re in Mesa?)
Y’all were right, Hidden Missiles are good when used right. I still think beam is better for my offense, but missiles fixes a lot of the issues I have with runaway. Now I’ve gotta come up with a strategy that beats mashing that does not involve “Pick Wolverine.”
