Jon in mvc2 it all depends on who you played against. If they pick the wrong assist at the beginning of the match and you’re cool with them you let it slide. If they pick the wrong assist and don’t know it until you kill a character sometimes ppl would start the match over given that person has to play 2v3 with correct assist. I wasn’t there for sean and Dan but depending on how far dan was in sean’s ass midgame would be the determining factor of whether or not the reset is cool. Like lets say Sean got his assists ate up and down to 20% health then notices he has wrong assist. A pause right there I would take the win, or he has to let me beat up on his assist next match with the right assist type. See, thats when shit gets real silly, when people want to recreate a scenario that just happened. It’s not so much about the $1 ranbat but more about player etiquette. MvC2 if you reset the game or pause it you just took a loss 90% of the time. That other 10% was people being nice and letting you start over. MvC2 had more blue screens than resets though lmao.
Reece, you act like you wouldn’t have replayed that shit it was you. If it was any us and Robb rules a replayed you would have replayed. I like how you give Sean shit for replaying the match. But no one gives Dan shit about how he got to replay the set. Sean acknowledged that it was his mistake. He justs saying some people would have been cool with replaying it. mvc2 you would get a lot of pauses and system resets when you were smash buttons for damage, hella people just un paused or picked up were you left off. I would disagree with people taking 90% loses, I agree most people would have just played with the messed up assist and just called it that. In that situation if it was up to the player 90% would have DQ him, but it wasn’t up to the player.

Damn, this pause button drama has turned into a fucking page turner. Seriously 4 new pages in like 2 days. I wasn’t there but I’ve got to say i can see both sides. However if you pause in the middle of a fucking combo it’s fucked no matter what your intentions are. I could understand if it happened after maybe the first hit but when your ass is locked in a 2 character combo you just take it like a man and make sure you have the right assists after your loss.
Nick: I finally had time to play vs last night,instead of training or story mode. And. I’m loosening up to the game. It’s fun and its definitely mk. Getting used to the controls takes time, but I’m getting there. The amazing amount of single player content is awesome. This game sets the bar in that regard. It’s definitely fun, atleast. Competitive? Sure. Too early tho. It’s fun and entertaining once you get a feel of the engine

Sounds good; I’m leaning strongly towards picking it up. I’ve been reading reports that online is horrible one match then near perfect the next…very conflicting reports and, of course, PSN has the most complaints. And of course, I gotta find time for the GoW3 beta next week too lol

Yeah, as of right now, for tournaments we will be banning Kombat Kodes and, if you screw around and punch in a kode (ANY KODE) you get a DQ ala Pausing the game.
It was funny, I had JUST finished telling everyone to NOT mess with the Kombat Kodes and if you punched in something that killed 2/3s of your life you are screwed… I walk over to MC Armando’s match and what does he do? He kills 3/4s of his friggin life. My words were “What did I JUST tell everyone and do not touch that start button, we just had THAT fight online.”
The part that sucks is I would have had to let a 200+ damage Kode slide by as well… yeesh. Anyways, banning Kodes takes care of that problem.
Upcoming Events - Questions
Taking this weekend off from events and such but I will post up the details of the April 30th event tomorrowish - need to firm up the final details after a meeting.
Which is my first question: if you had to choose between MK and MvC3 for Saturday, April 30th, which would you prefer?

May 7th & 14th are Mortal Kombat tournaments
May 21st is a MvC3 tournament
Second question: ** if you had to choose between Mortal Kombat on PS3 or Xbox, which would you prefer? The intention is to put MK on PS3s… Kratos + PS3 controllers > Xbox BUT I would be interested in feedback.**
@Robb: what’s funny is that Ricky and I just got done watching a casuals match where some guy did the same thing. I was like “wait a minute, did the other guy do it to him? that’s messed up!” Ricky said “No, he did it to himself”

Can we use Kratos? If so, PS3. Otherwise I don’t have a preference. w/ 360 I can bring my pad but the PS3 pad is is good for MK.
I have not looked yet, but I am sure there is not one, to see if there was an option to turn off Kombat Kodes - that would solve a ton of problems. I select my characters and then piano buttons just like a bunch of other people… that stuff will murder you in games nowadays. I am getting better at selecting and then pulling my hands off the stick and waiting.
Thank goodness we did not have anyone enter a Kode that affected the OTHER player - that would have sucked… had to drop a ban hammer on someone’s head.

From a purly selfish standpoint, I’d pick Xbox; I hear that console exclusive characters are banned anyway usually? But hey, I’m a small majority (I make it to, like, less than 1 tourney every other month). Although, sadly, I’ll probably play pad for this game and the Xbox pad is garbage.
