Shit happens all the time, if you watch streams you see it happen. General rule though if you press start after the match has started your ass is DQ.

YOU picked the wrong assist, no one else (unless Dan knows some assist hack glitch).You had TWO characters (unless I heard wrong) givin up that ass. Then the pause happens. The tourny rule thats been around the scene longer than probably even yourself unarbitrarily (if it aint a word, fuck it) specifies that if you pause, you forfeit that round or whatever the hell it is…Right Mike? Unless the other player agrees to play it out, which at that point Im sure Dan WOULDNT have. So really, its not arbitrary at all. In your situation it should have been DQ, unless (the judge you were askin about aka the other player) Dan agreed to play it out.
Heres a better analogy. You get into a car accident. Yo ass is payin up. Accidental or not. You 1040’d Dan. Own up san, this aint Smash. Its MAHVEL BABY!!!

You’re right, this wasn’t my first tournament. In every tournament I’ve been too, people can be cool with each other and acknowledge that stupid mistakes outside of gameplay happens. Shit, even when it happens in gameplay we can still be cool with each other. There have been so many Melee matches where one person kills themselves on the first stock and the other person lets them restart the match. We can say fuck the rules for a minute and just let a homie pick his team the way he intended. We can recognize that we want to win by being the better player, not win by a DQ rule.
Let’s wait for the videos. I’m pretty sure that I stopped controlling my character after I noticed the wrong assist. I didn’t try to block the incoming combo because I was trying to get his attention that I had the wrong assist and would like to restart.
I don’t even know who you are man but I’m not cool with you. You’re of the mentality that DQ’s are more legit than played out tournament matches. How immature, a pause screen comes up and the first thing you do is shout DQ and you actually mean it. Smash kids mocked people like you when they saw a pause by screaming DQ as a joke. It’s so obvious to these kids that no one should want to win by DQ that it’s a joke.

Reece, your right about it should have been a DQ, but ROBB not Sean ruled to replay the match. So that isn’t Sean’s fault. Shit happens, you are making a big deal for no reason. It was a $1 ranbat, if it was me I would have agreed replayed the match. I’ve also seem people replay matches on the stream. Look at the Final Round when they were playing on the DC, they had hella pauses, system resets etc, they replayed those matches.

Never played the game, and did pretty well with striker. Winner got a copy if the game.
Armando won. Got there early and practiced an Ermac combo, we all ate that for free.
I had a bad luck of the draw. Got onto a casual station for minutes and then casuals were over and I was first up. Had to play off of a promo card. Lost, but it was fun going into a tourney blind. I was doing better as I learned more moves but couldn’t learn them fast enough.
Armando: I tried the combo I was telling you about and it works. j.BK, land, d,b+FP then into his string. His other combo from UMK3/MKT works too, j.BK, j.d,b+FP, land, d,b+FP but the timing on it is more stricter than UMK3.

I won the Mortal Kombat tournament. I ended up with A Tournament Edition of the game which came with the MK stick, a Copy of the game, Ermac alt costume (yes!), and some random avatar stuff. I also get the 6 ft tall statue of Scorpion. Honestly, my roomates wanted that statue more than I did… (i.e. I got a text saying “Don’t come home without it”.)
What It boiled down to was I was able to sweep up my side of the bracket really fast, which caused the other side to have a delay (I had to wait for 3 matches to finish, and each one was close). All I did was sit in training room on an empty station and practice 1 combo that did pretty good damage. When it was game time, I was landing combos while my opponents where just doing a couple of hits here and there.
Funny thing, I almost lost thanks to that random code bullshit with the 3 icons before the match. I fucking accidentally pressed a button and it made me start at 25% HP per round. This shit was 2 out of 3, single elimination. Robb said I had to play it, and I wasn’t allowed to go back. It was against Rick_rock nonetheless so he swept me that match. After that I repicked my character and didn’t press a button and got back to 100% hp and managed to bring it back for a win.
The final’s was a random guy i’ve never seen before. He was really really smart and as scorpion did probably 3 teleports and 3 hooks total. He got desperate and did Random jumping and me uppercutting won me that set… and the rest is history!
Funniest moment of the night: Ray Switching characters according to flipping that sheet. ROFL, GODLIKE!
Also, shoutouts to making some random kid REALLY salty. He was so mad he stormed out of the store after I beat him. He stood there and kept accusing me of mastering the game and shit before it was out. Just laughed hardcore.

Maybe I should clarify. When I said that I dont have a problem w/ the turnout, you, yadda yadda…I was refering to how things turned out, which includes you NOT gettin DQd. Im all for play outs. So get to know me a bit more before you comment on my mentality (no homo).
Alls Im sayin is all Ive seen is you playin the “It wasnt my fault” role (when it was) insteada recognizing the fact that you SHOULD have been DQd…Whether I or anyone else would have taken the DQ win, agrees with it or not. It gets worse, that guys salty storm out resulted in him missing out on his 3rd place prize,well a chance of it, 2 people had to fight one fight for 3rd, but this guy would have won. anways, they ended up giving 3rd place a copy of the game as well, the regular edition.
We tried to call him for his match, and he was gone, so the other guy got the free copy.
