I may go later. After I drop my gf off at work. Won’t be til 10pm tho
Good games to all… really tired headed out early for sleep!
Highlight of the night was rick curb stomping some 8 year old no mercy… rofl
then the little kid cheered for me and I perfected rick!
ahahaha. Man I wish I could have made it out tonight. Did anyone else catch a cold from Evo?
lol! I guess Rick’s lucky that 8 year old kid wasn’t Noah…or he might’ve gotten curb stomped haha. Sorry I couldn’t make it out fellas, I had to finish my summer school stuff, won’t be out there tomorrow either cuz of work, but I’ll get it in with you guys next week. BE PREPARED FOR BUSHIN-RYU!
I did but a 12 hour shift quickly fixed that.
Yeah couldn’t make it out today but ill see you guys Friday for sure.
I caught a sore throat from vegas. It’s gone away since then
It looks like i’ll be getting my fourth ASUS monitior (Possible 5th depend on funds) soon
Don’t Forget
Super Marvel Madness 2 Sept. 10- [Sep 10, 2011] Super Marvel Madness 2 (MVC3, SSF4:AE & 3SO Tourney) 9/10/11 (Tempe, AZ)
I wanted to say good games to everyone I got to play at Gameworks. I didnt get everyones name, but I did meet Tsumji(sorry if I butchered it). I was the tall black guy playing ryu and adon.
noah’s ass, rick will curbstomp him too! show no mercy!
GG to all at GW tonight. Sorry i showed up so late. I didnt recognize like 99% of the people there. where the hell are all these people come tourney/training session time? was kinda odd, end of the night, cab is loaded with credits, and people were more hesitant to walk up to the cabinet to play me. Not like I’m gonna bite. its kinda disappointing to see that sometimes =( i know i was quiet(just focused)but dont hesitate to ask a question on what you are doing wrong(no one asked). I’m all about helping, but im also the type that wont just give it to you, gotta ask me the question. I’m like that cuz some people just dont want to be told what they are doing wrong(the scrub).
Next time I am up there I will get some games in and ask. You did seem to be in the zone though sabre.
i just tend to play really well in arcade. its what i grew up with. the atmosphere is comfortable to me. when i go to a house, its way too casual for me a lot of times. i know everyone and lots of messing around. when i go arcade, i go more focused. plus, i kinda like the feeling of going somewhere and no one “really” knows me and i dont know them, so it gets more serious. reminds me of 1991-1993 allover again. no one was buddies, just enemies(in the game that is)
Fun times at GW tonight! I was the tall guy with the funny shoes and the step-kick happy Ken.
Thanks for the offer, Scott. I had a pretty good idea of what I was doing wrong, and trying a few different ideas around it with mixed results. Your cr.mk was eating me up. But I found some spacing and countered with a couple of sweeps. I think the theory is sound, just have to work on implementation. That, and the fact that whenever I’d start focusing on footsies, I’d forget to anti-air. I’d also find myself stuck in the corner frequently, but I don’t really know how to avoid that with that crazy Sakura pressure. If there is anything else you can remember that I was doing wrong, I’d love to hear it!
Pleasure playing everyone, and looking forward to playing you all again in the future.
Just FYI for people that were afraid to play Scott. He is old and frail, you have nothing to fear… except that stupid range on Sakura’s cr. MK.
I have to say that when you see like 20+ wins up there its a little intimidating. I actually thought that people were getting right in there because there was a long line right there. Maybe its because they put the machines in such a bad spot IMO and people are all over the place just trying to get through. Does anyone else feel that way about where the machines are?
I feel like such a flake not having gone to Casuals or GW tonight, ugh. Still eager to meet you all and play. Scottsdale MS store’s a wee bit far, but I’m planning on Casuals on Wednesday, GW on Thursday, and Haz’s Friday.
GGs to everyone at Gameworks. I was the Ibuki player. Hope to see you guys come out to casuals and upcoming tournaments sometime. Arcade can be serious business at times, but when you get a chance to sit down and play an extended set with someone as they pick apart your play it’s also incredibly beneficial. Y’all knew what you were doing, you weren’t the typical Gameworks scrub. If you play Makoto, Ryu/Adon, Gief/Cody, Akuma, Yang, Ken or DAN I remember watching you play and genuinely trying to learn. So come out and practice with us, if you get better we all get better!
Also I owe Rick several beers.
Damn dude, I’m itching to play! But arnul’s is like the closest one to me.
Is anyone on the west side down to carpool to ms store tmrw?
if not i’ll see everyone fer sure at haz’s
GGs to everyone I got to play against tonight; my Makoto got pretty blown up haha, but I learned a lot to compensate. About half the people on the second set of machines’ rotation got intimidated surely and left to watch or went to the other rotation; the rest really couldn’t settle for a rotation order like usual so people were jumping in at random.
It was nice meeting those who went tonight, and I feel a bit dumb for not introducing myself to Scott before he left. I definitely look forward to tomorrow and practicing at Haz’s next week.
Good games to everybody!
I was the poofy red haired Dan player. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep making Thursdays, but I’ll try my best. I hope to get better at AE and as Dan as time progresses. Thanks to everybody who gave me advice. I’ll be sure to keep things in mind for the next time I come out.
And I hope to see you guys tomorrow at the tourney; I may not enter, but it’ll be cool to chill and maybe play a few casuals.
