Man gems are fucking dumb. Meter building and vitality boost gems are silly. I can land 2 team supers and still have meter for ex, in one round, lulz. And/or turn my characters into tanks.
And runaway with auto guard(sim in particular) is retardedly hard to stop. You spend so much time getting to him, and when you finally do, and open him up, he gets to block, and get s chance to get away…

I like the gems. Banning of gems I don’t agree with and if I was actively in tourneys I wouldn’t enter for SFxT for that sole reason. Banning DLC gems, I can agree with that, but the default ones should be available to use. Are there any unlockable gems? I think those should be allowed as well and any self-respecting tourney organizer would run setups with unlocked gems.
That brings me to another point. Online. I don’t like online at all. It’s deprived of features especially compared to Soul Calibur V. The only way you can play random people is through Arcade Fight Request. It’s quite annoying to load a CPU game, then immediately getting a new challenger, when you know there’s going to be a new challenger. There needs to be an option where you queue up for a match and play when a match is found rather than having to sit through the screens on Arcade mode.
Online doesn’t have a tourney mode like SCV. For a game that revolves around tourneys you would think this is a basic feature to add in. The lobby is okay from what I can see but that’s pretty standard. The tourney mode + chatroom would’ve been more important where the environment allows us to pre-configure our gems and enter the tourney with everyone’s stuff already setup.
Shouldn’t you already have gems customized prior to going in a lobby? Granted, it woulda been a good idea.
Whether you like gems or not, until tourney mode hits(which they will fuck up), gems have to be banned due to time constraints. Only sample loadouts allowed.
As for online(actual playing), sound aside, is incredible
You can definitely do that for ranked matches. Just go into the network mode menu, and select Ranked Match. It’ll put up a loading message while it searches for a game, and when one is found, it’ll start it right up. I started doing this after a while too, for just the reason you mentioned.
Pretty much the way it seems right now. It’s too bad that the sample loadouts are probably “better” for some characters than others, but unless a tournament wants to set up empty loadouts (if you can even do that?) for every character, then that’s the only viable option.
Yeah you can empty all the slots. Just takes time
so it would be the smart move to train against one another without gems it seems

Sound is all fucked due to the rollback nature of the netcode. It can definitely be fixed tho. I just mute the sound going online, or have the volume really really low, and I’m good
Sorry I worded that kind of weird. But yeah in online games we already have our stuff setup so going into whichever mode we don’t have to wait so long to get setup. If we had a tourney mode it wouldn’t take long to get setup compared to in-person tourneys that take quite a while to setup per match.
Yeah but then I have to put my rank on the line and I don’t want to do that until I have some sort of gameplan for my team. I already switched out the gems for Poison (in anchor position) and I’m thinking of replacing Law because it seems he just plays better as an anchor rather than point.

I was thinking of also playing balrog,b ut charge characters feel weird to me, or maybe its just because im so used to playing rog in sf4
Honestly I wouldn’t waste time with Rog, a lot of his stuff is unsafe now, his stand fierce is baller though but he just feels like more of a contain character then an offensive power house. But again I only gave him a few hours so I may be wrong.

Because if you went, you would understand, exactly why 
I’m sure the monthly rent on the building is not cheap, either is all the arcade cabs, multiple 360 setups, and stream station. Very costly business
And hurrah for $10 game fee. Tired of this nickel and dime tournaments. I mean, 5 is ok, but sometimes, I want a tourney for big boys.
