I was saying that if I don’t make some type of monetary return to show that the initial money spent was worth it, I don’t want to spend more. It is the same for any other thing in my eyes. I would buy a car that is a money pit if it can’t drive me from point a to point b.

That is what I was referring to lol. I am saying I don’t want to make another investment until I am better. Not that I will never make one. Also, if I were better I would gladly money match people. I am not saying I need to get back thousands or even hundreds. I would just like to see that I get back a dollar here and there haha. Something to lift my spirits of “holy crap I spent 400 dollars”.
As a hobby, I compare it to any other hobby: sports, upgrading your car, coin collecting, painting, audiophilia, skiing, hiking, building models, cooking, gardening, reading, and so forth. All are things that you do for fun, and usually involve investing some amount of money to participate in the hobby while getting zero money back out in return. That’s what fighting games are to most people, the same as any of those other things.

I’m not a modder but I can tell you right now 90% chance its the board, first editions had a huge problem with em. You can buy a new dual system board and wire it into the existing button wire block in the stick.

yep… still love fighting games and any time I win a tournament I just buy a nice dinner somewhere or buy something cool like a blu ray or a pair of headphones.
In fighting games you will never get any return unless you want to win, and at that point it not about fun its about winning. You do not need an Xbox system and stick and what not to be a tournament player, just borrow a stick. I know plenty of people who just go to tournaments without a stick in the first place and borrow one left and right. There is always someone willing to lend you a stick. Dual modding for tournament play is a terrible excuse and should not be holding anybody back.
