I have SF4 AE, but haven’t dl’d the 2012 update since I am playing UMvC3 so much. None of my friends play fighting games, and I don’t really play FPS much as I used to (seems to be a common problem; 1st world problems lol). I was the same way when I first started coming out to gatherings. Loving fighting games is tough when there is no interest from those around you. Luckily this board was and still is a great place for finding out how to join the AZ community.

i was in the army. I was stationed in Mannheim-Kafertal. The best I could find was a bowling alley on post that had tekken 3. so i learned tekken there on my own. eventually found one person to play that didnt totally suck. but we couldnt get together very often to play

So, NCO club on base while I was home, food court during lunch at school, and then NCO club on Sundays after brunch… Those were the days… Wish I would have stayed long enough to get my drivers license and get some of dat autobahn lol

I had tried her out with Modok and Sent before but couldn’t get a handle on her back then. Replacing sent for her just made that whole team come together. Storm with missiles backing her up is so much more fun than storm with drones. The only character I enjoy playing more is Modok, but yeah, she is really fun.
Question for the AZ FGC: What is with the blatant disrespect for Danimitsu?
-He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet
-He’s probably your best Marvel 3 player (if you dispute this, you at least can’t argue “one of the” best without looking like a dumbass)
-He’s willing to help anyone who wants to talk game
-He works extremely hard to represent you and is one of the longest standing members of the AZ FGC
And yet,
-The new Hazmat Ranbat commercial (which was nicely done, btw!) doesn’t even mention him ONCE
-I’ve watched MULTIPLE Hazmat streams where the commentators continuously talk shit about him WHILE HE’S WINNING THE TOURNAMENT
-The aforementioned shit talk is about things like preferring top tier characters, using the same combos more than once in a game (usually TODs), and getting “lucky” when he wins. One would have to declare “no throwsies” to sound any scrubbier.
-And these “complaints” are coming from guys who’d have to “get lucky” to not be OCV’d by Dan.
I haven’t lived in AZ for a long time now (and I miss it sniff), so I don’t know most of you other than Scott and Neil (both of whom are great guys also), so I’m not really calling out anyone in particular (except those ass hole commentators). But every time I watch one of those stream archives, and more recently that sweet Hazbat commercial which intentionally pretends one of its top players doesn’t exist, I’m left wondering simply why??
The Hazbat commercial was intended to let people know which players are going to be showing up to the events. Dan hasnt made it out there regularly in some time now cuz he has no car and he lives way the fuck out in BFE and no one can give him a ride… so that explains that.

i wasnt aware anyone was talking trash? dan has barely been to a hazmat tourney in the past few months. basically cuz no one lives by him thats also going, to give him a ride. I dont think anyone disputes that hes one of our top players. its foolish to think otherwise. i dont watch too many replays of the tournaments. i watch my matches for learning and a couple others. never ever heard trash talking. so I’m not really sure where this is coming from.
hes probably not on the trailer, cuz like i said, he has not been to any haz tourneys in a couple months due to having no ride, except for one tourney, like 3 weeks ago, and correct me if i am wrong, he placed low in both games(it happens sometimes).
we dont tolerate personal shit talk on the stream. so you must be watching some old stuff, or are throwing some words way out of context, possibly? just a guess
I figured the commercial thing probably had a logical explanation (though if a guy has won multiple ranbats, even if he attends one or two per year, you might as well stick his name on an advertisement out of respect, but that’s just my opinion).
They were definitely older videos I was watching (vanilla for sure), but the complaints about his play were absolutely real, definitely not out of context, and definitely occurred multiple times. I haven’t seen any recently, admittedly, so I’m kinda bringing up older stuff. But it bothered me a lot back when I saw it and I never said anything, so not seeing him on the commercial made me think “wtf” enough to post.
Uh…I don’t recall ever talking trash about Dan. I think the last match of his I commentated on was with Zaine during AE Loser’s Finals, I thought we did a pretty good job with that one.

I do not think anybody has any real problem with danimitsu, because to be honest hes never here in the first place.
If there was any shit talking, it was done before Ultimate which means its been almost 3 months ago.
